Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome to SDA Late Nite Radio. Tonight, for your delectation and pursuant to our Tuesday night open music show, here are The Flamingos performing Rock & Roll (3:07). According to the Wikipedia link supra: The foundation for the Flamingos was laid when cousins Jacob Carey and Ezekial Carey, bass and 2nd tenor, formed the group in Chicago, after meeting cousins baritone Paul Wilson and first tenor John Carter, at a black Messianic Jewish synagogue.
Your Reader Tips are, as always, welcome in the comments.

“In short, the Internet saved me. In that sense, my story isn’t just about free speech. It’s also about the way new technology has leveled the playing field between big government and private citizens.
The Internet may also spell the beginning of the end for the HRCs of the world.”

“The Internet Saved My Tongue
How I beat Canada’s ‘human rights’ censors
Ezra Levant | June 2009 Print Edition
Early on the morning of February 13, 2006, nearly 40,000 copies of the Western Standard rolled off the presses in Edmonton, Alberta. Tucked inside that week’s issue of Canada’s only national conservative magazine, on pages 15 and 16, was a story about the international controversy over a Danish newspaper that had printed a dozen satirical cartoons featuring the prophet Muhammad. Our article, which was illustrated by eight of the cartoons, would soon trigger a three year government investigation of whether I, as the Western Standard’s publisher, had violated the rights of Canadian Muslims by “discriminating” against their religion.
The investigation vividly illustrated how Canada’s provincial and national human rights commissions (HRCs), created in the 1970s to police discrimination in employment, housing, and the provision of goods and services, have been hijacked as weapons against speech that offends members of minority groups. My eventual victory over this censorious assault suggests that Western governments will find it increasingly difficult in the age of the Internet to continue undermining human rights in the name of defending them.
By commissioning the Muhammad cartoons, the Danish newspaper, the Jyllands-Posten, was making a point about the West’s fear of insulting Islam. A Danish author and longtime leftist activist named Kåre Bluitgen had written a children’s book about Muhammad, but because some Muslims consider visual depictions of their prophet taboo, Bluitgen found it difficult to find an illustrator. Jyllands-Posten editors wanted to highlight this Danish culture of self-censorship and show the newspaper’s support for freedom of speech by publishing their own cartoons of Muhammad.
A few of the images were critical of radical Islam, but the criticism wasn’t any harsher than that routinely heaped on other religions and ideologies in the editorial cartoons of Western newspapers. One showed Muhammad in heaven, saying, “Stop, stop, we ran out of virgins!” as suicide bombers floated up to the clouds. Another depicted Muhammad wearing a turban in the shape of a bomb.”

Yes maz2 I would agree that the Internet saved Ezra. And it will likely save us all from the menace that is Obama.

Liberal Party Vomit Alert
Did you all catch the last half hour of Charles Adler’s show ???
He had on two female guests who sounded a whole lot like Liberal Party members. Then came 3 callers that I’m convinced were DEFINITELY Liberal Party Members.
Please get back on Adler’s show, Kate. Otherwise I’m going to become skinny & frail, unable to keep my food down!
Another item with potential to re-re-re-reignite a re-re-re-reinvestigation of Brian Mulroney:
“Liberal MP could face inquiry over nanny debacle”
Some may blame it on Sicily, but “Green energy tangled in web of shady deals”
Watched both CBC’s the National and CTV National News tonight. Interesting to compare the coverage of each on the Dhalla controversy. While CTV did do a piece on it – a fairly extensive one at that, which featured comments by both Jason Kenney and Olivia Chow, each of whom gave harsh criticism of Dhalla outside the chamber before a throng of mic-wielding reporters, as well as the piece having included an interview with someone from a caregivers’ advocacy group, heaping his own bit of scorn on her, should the accusations turn out to be true – The National chose to ignore the story entirely. No report. No commentary. Not even a 5-second blurb with a box on the screen above the anchor‘s shoulder. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I guess their policy is this: If we don’t report on it, it never happened.
Of course, if the accusations were not against Dhalla but a Conservative MP, no report would be filed either. Right.
Where was Boag, Bonner, Hunter and Van Dusen? How many Ottawa-based Hill reporters does the CBC have anyway? (There’s a “…to screw in the light bulb” joke in their somewhere.) All must have come down with Swine Flu it would seem. If so, it would be Canada’s second case of human-to-swine transmission.
And just to show you the CBC in no way has a Liberal bias, before the main news was concluded, the anchor, Diane Buckner (Peter was away), did a promo for tomorrow morning’s CBC Radio programme “The Current”. The topic to be discussed: “The Harper record. 100 days into the current parliamentary session.”
The topic to be discussed: “The Harper record. 100 days into the current parliamentary session.”
Come on now. Surely this will be an objective review of Harper’s government with at least a few intelligent observations and discussion with thoughtful, non-biased commenters. Right? [crickets chirping]
I think that Ruby is being set up by that harpy who posed for those stills from the movie that she was in. Stuff like that happens to Liberals all the time, and of course the cbc news crew is way too sophisticated to be fooled, not like those nannies who probably don’t even vote yet,and thought they were working for the real Ruby.
Jim, you got me thinking, “surely the story must be on the comprehensive CBC News website?!” Just checked. Nada. Nothing. Zero.
So on the latest Mulroney story I left this comment:
“I came to the CBC News website to learn more about the Ruby Dalla story. Not a word. Not a single word.
Has the CBC now officially become the de facto propaganda arm of the Liberal Party of Canada?”
The best comment of all on there though was from a “Joe Gopher”:
“Wow, there must be a terrible shortage of the word ‘alleged’.
Seems the CBC used up it’s entire supply in the story about one of the 18 terrorists pleading guilty to plotting to attack Canada.
Odd how that works out sometimes.”
Absolutely brilliant sarcasm!
This is where Canada is heading with its hate laws. Its why Polygamy is now being considered as normal. Gee I wonder who is behind that& don’t Islamic like young pre-puberty girls? I know the Child rapist Mohamed did. So now the Obama & his socialists have become defenders of child sex perverted. How appropriate for the leftists. Obama a Christian? What a laugh. Now with HRC like tribunals against hate crime they can start to persecute Christians while protecting every pervert in America. Evil is good-good is evil in the leftist brain. Hate crimes is the door to tyranny.
Hate Crime Protection for Pedophiles but No Protection for Military
Hate crime — hate is in the eye of the beholder, eh? And if you are a Democrat – you protect child rapists, but G-d forbid you protect the military.
Hate crime legislation will be used as a tool against the right. Period. A crime is a crime. WTF is the “hate” bias? Will those screaming for the death to Jews at those demonstrations in January be prosecuted under these laws?

“In short, the Internet saved me. I would say that you saved us, Ezra! We were all rooting for you and sending $$ but it was your brilliance that saved us – you were like Wayne Gretzky with the puck and an open net once you started to roll…it was stand up cheering – for you – in this computer arena.
Kate, Kathey, Mark S. and some other brave souls went right out on the limb with you because they believed in what you were fighting for; they got charged too but it was too late for the HRC thugs; the troops rallied and the brains on your team beat out the hoards of Bolsheviks in a slam dunk. The victory made us all proud of all of you and I’m sure that it made all of you feel proud that you had so many people who appreciated the courage that all of you proved to have.
I thank you all, once again, for all you did for all of us. I am grateful to the internet ..invented by NATO, NOT Goracle; for being here to serve us people when we needed it.
Revnant Dream – I heard all about that abomination on Fox News. Sean Hannity, Glen beck and O’Rielly were all over it; the Owe is alienating the Military. The military are all volunteers …he is supposed to be the Commander and chief of the Military. It might be difficult for this fella to get any support when he needs it. Is that his game? Has he a ‘foreign force”? Or is he just stupid?
The Military has turned their backs to heads of state before. My Mom told me that the Canadian troops (all volunteers) turned their backs on M. King when he went out to ‘visit’ during WWII. Mom said the Canadians were fighting with Winston Churchill, for Canada. The Canadian PM was never mentioned except in derision; she was there and she never makes things up.
Revnant and Jema:
You are right on two fronts:
1. We are headed down a very slippery slope of extending full rights to a bunch of groups that even a few years ago would have been unthinkable. I apologize for referring once again to this video I put together but if you read the comments you’ll see a fellow who could be working in Congress today!
2. The Left’s primary value is “equality”. But superseding equal treatment for everyone is their assertion that some groups are victims, incapable of achieving equality without help from … the government.
Rumour: Martial Law will be declared in Pakistan in the next few months
I just heard an interesting interview with Bill Rogio, of the Long War Journal. He said that he believes that the U.S. State Department is working with the U.S. and Pakistani militaries to coordinate the removal of the Pakistan Playboy PM, prior to the Taliban seizing power (and nuclear weapons) in the country.
Before I head to sleep, I wanted to share one more thing with you all . . .
The CBC’s 3 Monkey Act (Dumb-Deaf-Blind) re Ruby Dhalla is really bugging me. I’ve long known that there are three ways for the media to modify the news:
1. By slanting it, through subtle and not so subtle bias.
2. By actually lying.
3. By omission.
If CBC News personnel were directly confronted on their omission of the Dhalla Nanny Fiasco I’m fairly confident they would say, “There are just allegations right now and no proof.”
Remember though that this is the same news organization that broadcast the Neil MacDonald hit-piece on Sarah Palin and her daughter … even though days earlier it had clearly been DISPROVED!
So there is absolutely NO legitimate excuse for CBC News this time around. None!
Right you are Robert W. CBC is, and always has been, a leftest outfit and a total waste of money, IMO. I have written to every advertiser that uses CBC that I will not buy their products for as long as they patronize that nasty organization. CBC is hard up for $$ (they say), the Conservatives have given them the funds that were promised in the last election, STARVE them off their comfy furs!! It is the only way to get rid of them.
There is no excuse for them existing: they have been trashing anyone and any idea that does not smack of collectivism since I was a kid. The
CBC did to Stockwell Day what all MSM did to Sarah Palin – tried to trash them by mocking their religious beliefs. I have loved God and His son, Jesus, all my life so I was even more fed up with the Canadian Broadcasting Communists (Broadcasting modifying Communists, not Canadian). I only watch that station if I suspect that they are spreading lies about something…now I just read Kate’s links so I don’t have to give them any hits on their websites.
Thank Heaven for the internet, this website saved my sanity; especially back in the Dark Liberano days.
BTW, Robert W. I have been to your website and I like it. I think more information about the corrupt Dippers in BC might be in order now that there is an election on the horizon.
Kieth Martin voted for funding the long gun registry the other day, he campaigned on abolishing it when he was in the Canadian Alliance. Keith also ran for leader of the Canadian Alliance. Keith went to Ottawa with the Reform Party. An article on Keith would be informative for your local audience, IMO.

*”David Akin: Jason Kenney on Ruby Dhalla and the affair of the disgruntled nannies
At 1620 this afternoon, Liberal MP Ruby Dhalla’s Nanny Trouble was the most read story at the Toronto Star’s Web site. Reporter Dale Brazao finds that “two caregivers say they were mistreated after MP hired them. Dhalla says she is ‘appalled’ by their accusations.”
After Question Period today, in a scrum with several reporters, Immigration Minister Jason Kenney spends quite a bit of time not commenting on this case:
Reporter: So what should be done about these allegations?
Kenney: Well, it’s difficult for me to comment on particular cases but we’re aware of stories of abuse of the rights of live-in caregivers that are very disturbing. These are typically vulnerable workers. It’s a very valuable program and provides a pathway to permanent residency within three years for thousands of women who otherwise would have a real hard time coming to Canada. So we think it’s a good program but it needs to be improved. And I’m working with provinces, encouraging them to ensure the proper monitoring and enforcement of provincial Labour Code protections for live-in caregivers. And at the federal level we have launched consultations with caregivers and other stakeholders, including employers, to hear how we can better ensure their protection. We’re looking at the role of intermediaries, of recruiting agencies. We are looking at the sanctions that are imposed. For instance, if we hear about – if we have reports of employers who are repeat abusers of the rules, we’re looking at making it impossible for them to get future labour market opinions for additional caregivers in the future. And so we’re basically open-minded about how we can improve the program to prevent abuse because one thing is clear : taking away someone’s passport, requiring them to do work that’s outside the terms of the caregiver status, not processing the work – having people work as a caregiver without a work permit, paying people under the table without takes, these – the accusations this happens on a fairly widespread basis. I think most employers are very dutiful and very good honest employers but we want to crack down on the abusive cases for sure.
Reporter: Is your department going to launch an investigation based on what you’ve heard?
Kenney: Well, to the best of my knowledge – I don’t comment on particular cases so I can’t really say. . . .
Reporter: The fact that this involves a sitting MP, what do you think should happen next?
Kenney: I’ll leave that to the MP in question or her leader. I can’t comment on the details of particular cases. That’s a matter for that individual but as it relates to the appropriate authorities, if complaints are provided, you know, one question I have is if this information came to light in a public forum, I would hope that any responsible authorities would have notified the appropriate officials. I think these allegations may have been provided two weeks ago to a Minister of Labour in Ontario and I presume that the appropriate authorities were informed.
Reporter: Do you have to rely on a complaint in order to launch an investigation? So you won’t necessarily investigate until you see that complaint?
Kenney: Well, you know, I think it’s – that’s up to officials. We don’t want to politicize the complaints process and whether or not our officials have taken public reports into account, I’m not aware and I should probably not be asking questions of that nature because we want to ensure that any process is fair and not politicized. I’m just commenting on the broader issue here. We’re aware of these instances of abuse and we’re concerned and that’s why we’ve launched these consultations and plan to tighten up the regulations surrounding the live-in caregiver program.”

Points to Ponder
Why? is the CBC persistent in using the term “Swine Flu” when all other news organizations have complied with the W.H.O & Pork Producers to use the Medical name H1N1.
If i was a Canadian Pork proucer i would be voicing outrage at the CBC for contributing to the damage being inflicted on the Pork Producers over this outbreak.
Why? are their No comments sections in the Toronto Star or G&M re: the Ruby Dhalla NannyGate allegations.
We all know the comments would go into overdrive & not be shut down if this was a conservative, NDP or BQ MP.

From the article: “Ontario’s stance that the days of governments quietly watching over the economy have ended and the time to intervene has come is a product of its battered economy and it’s unlikely other provinces will follow suit, experts said yesterday.”
Said McGuinty: “Free markets are alive and well, it’s just they have a new partner, and that’s the government.”
Thank God…and here I was concerned that Ontario’s ‘have not’ status would become permanent.

“Vanishing Islands of the Sunderbans
A Global Warming Hoax
Let us save the islands of the world heritage zone of the Sunderbans. Let us try to find out the real reasons why some of the islands of this archipelago are eroding away. According to official records, there are 102 islands in the Indian Sunderbans. But of them, at least two have already disappeared (one is rising from the waters again, though) and a dozen-odd are likely to vanish in the next two to three decades if no action is taken immediately. The Sunderbans houses the world’s largest mangrove forests which are a natural habitat of Bengal tiger and many other wildlife unique to this area. This region may fall prey to the climate change, but the islands which have vanished are not really global warming victims, say scientists and engineers WHO HAVE WORKED IN THE REGION for years. There has been very little study on the effect of global warming on the Sunderbans. But…
Global Warming Sells
That is why Lohachara, a small island in the western Sunderbans in India, becomes the first inhabited island of the world to go under the rising sea water.
Global warming sells.
That is why journalists across the world forget the basic rules of reporting and use quotes from a single source (without cross-checking with other experts in the field) to support the ‘peg’ of their story.
In 2006, it was reported by some major newspapers of the world that the rising sea water has claimed two islands of the Sunderbans (Bedford or Supuribhanga and Lohachara), of which one (Lohachara) was inhabited. In the process, at least 10,000 people have become homeless. Several other inhabited (and unhabited) islands of the archipelago are in the process of getting ‘permanently inundated’, it was claimed.
But is that really true? If it is, then how come the island of Lohachara is rising from the waters again? Yes, it’s true. A huge landmass is emerging where the Lohachara and a part of the Bedford had once existed. So, does it mean that the sea level is going down? Not actually. So, let us try to find out the real culprit who has rendered the residents of Lohachara homeless.”

The authors, former Liberal trade minister Roy MacLaren and former Economist magazine editor Bill Emmott, noted that demands are growing in the American business community for similar negotiations so that the U.S. isn’t left out of the movement to reduce trade barriers.

But beyond Obama’s political ideology, many Americans are troubled also by his strange personality attributes: He greatly exaggerates his achievements, expects constant praise and admiration, believes he’s special, doesn’t appear to concern himself with other people’s feelings, expresses disdain for those he feels are inferior, sets unrealistic goals, appears as tough-minded and unemotional, and other qualities – all of which are textbook symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder…”

Scoop: Stephen Harper’s assault on science isn’t quite what it appears
Posted: May 05, 2009,
The Globe ran a story Monday about a Montreal AIDS researcher who is leaving Canada with many of his research team to take up a post in Florida.
“The University of Montreal’s Rafick-Pierre Sékaly says he is leaving in part because of federal cuts in science funding and hopes his departure will be a wake-up call,” it said.
While President Obama has included $10-billion for medical research in his mammoth deficit budget, “Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s government, on the other hand, cut funding for basic research in its stimulus budget, trimming $148-million from the three agencies that fund university-based research.”
Wham! Take that Stephen Harper. Top Canadian scientist fleeing backward Canada due to underfunding of science. Generous and far-sighted U.S. steals a march on sleeping Tories. Oh, the shame.
So As It Happens called up Dr. Sékaly looking for some juice. Those lousy Tories. Cut our budget will they?
The story wasn’t quite the same, though. Turns out Dr. Sékaly isn’t a Canadian fleeing to the U.S., but a Lebanese-born scientist who has been working in Canada since 1986 and is grateful for the resources and opportunities he’s been given.
“I would not be where I am today if not for the support I have had from Canada over the last 20 years,” Dr. Sékaly told Canwest News. The article added: “It is not so much that Canada is outclassed as it is that the United States alone right now has both the will and the financial wherewithal to support clinical trials on humans and other very expensive types of research their work entails.” Apparently when your economy is ten times the size of Canada’s, certain benefits result.
Hmm. So how did the CBC interview go? Well, they tried, offering repeated opportunities for Dr. Sékaly to unload on Ottawa. Unfortunately, he didn’t seem willing.
“The political message is not for me,” he demurred. “I’m 58 years old (and) I’ve had a great career the past 10 years. Canada has supported me a lot.”
He noted that he’s been in negotiations for 2-3 years, since the Montreal team made an important HIV-related discovery, and a Florida institute finally came through with everything he wanted.
Wait a minute. Two to three years? Isn’t that well before the Conservatives single-handedly destroyed Canadian science? You mean this isn’t the result of budget provisions introduced just four months ago?
Um, no. In fact, said Dr. Sékaly, “my personal research has not been affected. I’ve been very, very productive the past five years.”
He did have some mild concerns about Ottawa’s emphasis on funding university infrastructure rather than human resources, but also noted that it’s the U.S. that has been falling behind in recent years.
“There was also a lack of commitment from the previous U.S. administration in science, which prompted the current administration to try and catch up with this investment. There is a whole generation of U.S. scientists that is hurting, and we certainly don’t want this to happen in Canada.”
Luckily, part of his team is staying in Montreal. “There are about 15 people who are going to remain in Canada and going to be very actively working … They are really part of my overall scheme, and they’re going to be extremely important.”
Rats. How can you slam Ottawa when the interviewee won’t play along?

“Did FDR Make the Depression Great?
Mises Institute ^ | 5/5/2009 | David Gordon
Robert Murphy demonstrates in this excellent book a penetrating ability to explain the essence of fallacious economic doctrines. As he notes, three theories offer competing explanations of the Great Depression: the Keynesian account, which stresses a lack of aggregate demand; Milton Friedman’s monetarism, which ascribes the severity of the early years of the Depression to a drastic cut in the money supply by the Fed; and, of course, the Austrian theory that Murphy himself favors.
Herbert Hoover, though not under Keynes’s influence, defended a version of the first theory. If wages were not kept high, purchasing power would be insufficient to restore prosperity. Accordingly, Hoover encouraged businesses to refrain from wage cuts.
Murphy quickly exposes the fallacy of this view:
High wages do not cause prosperity, they are rather an indication of prosperity. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter how many green pieces of paper employers hand out to workers. Unless workers first physically produced the goods (and services), there will be nothing on the store shelves for them to buy when they attempt to spend their big fat paychecks. (p. 35, emphasis in original)
But, it may be countered, is not the level of production and employment determined by aggregate demand? Granted that prosperity requires real goods, will not businessmen decide how much to produce based on what they think they will be able to sell? If so, is not the problem in a depression that, forecasting that future demand will be low, they cut back production?
Murphy once more locates the fundamental fallacy. The problem in a depression is not that production is in general too low; it is rather that resources have not been put to their best uses and need to be shifted:
By focusing on aggregate monetary conditions such as “total wage payments,” Hoover completely overlooked the fact that real, physical resources had to be rearranged in order to correct the imbalances in the economy. It wasn’t that “business” was producing too much, but rather that some sectors were producing too much, while other sectors were producing too little, in light of the economy’s supplies of resources, the skills and desires of its workers, and the tastes of its consumers. (p. 37)
Once more, Murphy holds that we need to concentrate on the physical goods rather than on total monetary demand.”

Hard caps, free trade

Jim Prentice, the Minister of the Environment, is wise to be seriously considering a viable, effective cap-and-trade system to limit greenhouse-gas emissions….
ivinconn – thanks for the NP article. Most certainly, many science researchers go to the states, because the money is there – and money for research in the US doesn’t just come from the govt but from private foundations.
Because Canada’s taxes have prevented the development of an investor class of private wealthy citizens, who can set up research foundations, Canadians are dependent on govt funding.
The problem with govt research funding, in a small country like Canada is that it tends to become incestuous. The reviewers all know each other; they reject innovative newcomers; they require, themselves, steady funding for their own long term projects..which become permanent fiefdoms.
And, since all reviewers must be bilingual, the mindset of the research tends to be focused around the Ottawa-Montreal corridor. And this is at least 30 and more years out of date.
That is, the granting agencies in Ottawa, because of the small set of reviewers, because all are competing for the same sole pot of money, become trapped into funding the same groups, over and over; become unable to enlarge a group, unable to admit innovative research. And, unable to fund infrastructure, for these grants only fund people and their equipment.
What’s needed? An overhaul of the funding method, an opening up of the review system, the development of an investor class – and a focus on innovation – something that the Old Guard in Research will reject and fight.
Obama Regime To Protect Pedophiles From So-Called “Hate Crimes”
http://thecanadiansentinel.blogspot.com/2009/05/obama-regime-to-protect-pedophiles-from.html
In fact, the bill will protect ALL sexual deviants/freaks.
The Republicans wanted to add to the bill that pedophilia isn’t part of “sexual orientation” and the Democrats refused to add that to the bill, so the effect is that ALL “sexual orientations” are going to be protected. All freaks and deviants, no matter how immorally depraved, will be protected from so-called “hate crimes”.
yes, obama is a narcissist. But not a ‘mild’ type, such that everyone who hears about his narcissism will sigh and say ‘oh well, all politicians are narcissistic’. He’s a pathological narcissist.
This means that his need to be in control of how YOU interact with him supercedes everything. It means not only that he has, long ago, moved himself into a fictional world of which he alone is the author, but he must control all that happens and exists in this world. He cannot interact directly with reality; he interacts only through this ‘text’ that he created, long ago, where he is esteemed, valued, adored – and above all, in control.
If he feels that he is losing this control over you, and by control, I mean his freezing you into ONE mindset about him (adoration), then, he has two options. One – he will act as if you don’t exist. And quite frankly, since he can’t control you, you don’t exist. He’s quite capable of walking by you, lying shot on the ground. The other option is rage; he’ll be insanely angry and try to control you that way.
We can see his constant pressure on the American public for adulation. His constant photo-ops, even to his eating a hamburger! His control of the Press, where his press meetings are pre-set, controlled and no critical questions are allowed. That is, he ignores FOX news and anyone who will question or criticize him. Obama uses these constant press meetings to pontificate and preach to us, the unenlightened and unwashed.
Criticize Obama – and he’ll get his aides after you, as they did with the Tea Parties.
The problem with a pathological narcissism, is that once put in a role of great power, it can explode in breadth and scope. He’ll become obsessed with his need to control and to receive adulation. He’ll become obsessed with anyone who criticizes him.
So, we’ll see more anger, more control, more repression, more photo-ops of ‘the casual Obama’ and more misinformation and manipulation on his part.
Plus, since he himself has no capacity for historical, economic or legal analysis, and thus, can’t understand the results of his controlling policies – we’ll see a chaotic mess as he cannot explain policies and programs – and yet, cannot handle criticism of them.
Dhalla/Sgro juxtaposition?
MI certainly knows how to surround himself with good people!
ET, you know, Obama does seem to have the same mental disorder which afflicted a certain fellow, also a socialist dictator, named Adolf…

FINALLY there’s a CBC news story about Ruby Dhalla, though just in the Toronto section of their website: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/2009/05/06/dhalla-nanny.html
Surprisingly [to me] many of the comments therein did not pull any punches. Though there were also some like this:

Why are they trying to drag this poor woman’s name through the mud? First it was the Indian movie she was in…now this? Ridiculous, and she shouldn’t have to leave her job because of these accusations which are clearly filtered through the Conservative government.

i have seen a few post now too, that Blame Stephen Harper for Ruby’s Nanny Diaries.
I believe it was at Susan Delacourt via NNW
canadian sentinel – possibly, but I think that Hitler’s mania was more ‘obsessive-compulsive’. And he did have an ideology, i.e., a specific set of ‘values’ which he thought were ‘good for the nation’.
As I keep saying, I think that Obama is a socialist, is a Democrat, only because its ideology sets him up as an elitist in control of the general unwashed mass. I don’t think he, himself, cares about the nation, or thinks that any particular ideology is good for people. He is focused only on what enables him to control people.
What is disturbing is that his pathology is possibly manageable in a restricted scenario. In other words, he can feel in control of people when he is in a controlled, low-population environment.
So, when he was president/editor of the Harvard Law Review, and he himself did nothing but drop into the offices once in a while to wave at those doing the actual work. He could feel that he controlled them; he had little contact with them so he couldn’t feel any criticism of him – if there was any (and turns out there was).
When he was a ‘community organizer’, he was set up, yet again, in an elitist position. And here, he was encouraging people already defined as underlings, and as victims, to go out and complain. Against others. Not against him. So, he was in control of their behaviour.
As a senator, he, again was in an elite position and again, wasn’t responsible for anything. So, he was protected against criticism and he felt in control of others around him.
But now, he’s yet again in an elitist position. The problem is – can he control how others interact with him? Can he control and prevent criticism?
His pathology absolutely requires that he lives in a safe cocoon, a text, a fictional world of which he alone is the author. All inhabitants of this text must be in his control.
Now – is he now in a position where he can maintain the text as the ‘only reality’? Will hard reality try to intrude? Can he keep the truth, can he keep facts as authored by others – out of his world? He’s trying to do so; he’s trying to maintain authorship. That’s the reason for his constant pre-set press conferences, his photo ops and so on. He’s trying to maintain control of his image and how you see him.
He’ll reject any and all criticism. He’ll deflect criticism to others – remember what he did with the AIG bonuses, pretending he knew nothing about them, and setting up a mob hysteria.
He has to set himself apart from America because he, himself, is not the author of the American History. If he, himself, is not the author, that history simply doesn’t exist for him.
He’ll denigrate America because it’s not in his control.
But what I see that can happen, is that his need to control ‘reality’ and keep it ‘textual’, ie, under his authorship, will make him feel more stressed, more alarmed – as he loses control. So, he’ll try for more control…
He’ll lie, misinform, manipulate, threaten, bully, whatever, to make people do as he wants.
How long will Americans put up with this? More and more are realizing that there is something seriously wrong with him.
Iggy’s on a hunt for “a determination of the facts”.
Iggy is putting out a dragnet: Just the Facts, Ma’am.
Iggy is looking “forward” not backward.
