Did they issue a warning after the muslim man of moroccan heritage intentionally drove his vehicle onto the sidewalk in Italy, then tried to attack non muslims with his muslim style knife, then tried to flee the scene?
I’m talking about this guy. Maybe the people who attacked in San Diego read the news of the day and it pushed them over the edge? Is this the violence that the Toronto Police Department is warning about? Or is it different violence?
If I have to go into downtown Calgary today, should I be wary of crowds or gatherings of muslims? Is it safe to stand near them on the train downtown or should I simply exhibit my normal situational awareness as per the usual, If I need be near them? “Stand near a door, always have an exit plan, never stand at the end or beginning of a train”, and remember that certain Kirpans (6 cm) are legal on flights within tier 2 Canada

Marc – have been wary on the C-Train for quite some years, none of which involved non-whites.
Travelling home from the Symphony one time, avoided a fight on the platform and entered the train. One of the fighters – a young white kid – entered our car and was obviously still fighting mad. Fortunately, he had a friend who restrained him and they removed themselves a couple of stations down the track.
Another time, caught the train after visiting a client (had gone there with no issues) and – a couple of stops in – found myself next to a rather nasty fight (I was sitting by the barrier next to the door), though noticed a woman further down the carriage trying to dial 911 without being noticed. Fortunately, the whole mélange decamped a couple of stations along, but I was still shaken.
Had occasion to walk by our station as well during this time. Had been meeting a colleague and decided the station (and adjacent park) was preferable to walking along the road. My mistake. First few steps in had me realizing there was a small encampment in the wee park south of the station. So I took the steps up to the platform and realized there was a drug deal going down. I got off the platform extremely quickly and have avoided that area since. Supposedly it’s been cleaned up, but I’m not trusting the authorities here as doubt any of their families use this particular train station.
Long ago while growing up, I’d never had an altercation with a non-white, all the guys I fought while growing up (in my teens) were neighboring whites, and who looked to be their cousins after I moved away. My argument for not standing near certain groups of people is… there are now millions of people who don’t live by the same ideals I grew up with, and who routinely run over people, stab people on trains, blow themselves up with bombs. The chance of this happening here in Calgary is microscopic, but the results will be considerably worse than being punched out.
The people who challenge me on the C-train now, have all been people high on drugs, and it’s about even between whites and First Nations folks, and I’m always surprised when it’s a female challenging me.
There is no known nexus… Does the author of this actually read what they write?
Just remember that cops have to fail an intelligence test to get hired.

Luckily there are no issues within Jewish neighborhoods in the Toronto area otherwise the police would be right on it.
Have you seen the (file) photo of the 17yo shooter? Wearing cornrows? Looking rather, uhm … female? How many white supremacists have tightly coiffed cornrows? And why no pictures of his/her. Partner in crime, Mr. Vasquez? The shooter with the Hispanic surname … speaking of white supremacists?
And did you read the 17yo cornrowed shooter was attending a “virtual” high school “academy” … “for some time now”. Gee, you don’t think the shooter didn’t feeeeeel “safe” at his high school and was “bullied” … do you? What kind of social misfit CHOOSES to not attend HS? Physical, brick, mortar, and HUMAN HS?
I hope the Toronto PD will keep up with ALL the details of this unhinged shooting by … how do you say it up there? … by a man with known mental health struggles?
The white (Christian) supremacist angle to this story is rapidly coming apart … ‘x’ is rampant with stories about the shooter being another transgender and ‘their’ Hispanic boyfriend. So the DM has dropped the story from top of the page … to the bottom.
This story is about to disappear faster than a Toronto PD car passing a Synagogue.
BTW Toronto PD … how are all those Christian church burning patrols coming along … out of an abundance of caution?
