Watching live now as Obama waits for his intro at an event intended to be about education, arms crossed, looking irritated and tired. puts on a smile at the last moment.
He’s not taking responsibility for ill-chosen words, he’s firing back at the McCain campaign and the news media for a “manufactured controversy”. (Really? He didn’t notice the raucous laughter from his parisan audience when he said it?) Says that “enough is enough”. Cool. Which will ensure it remains high in the news cycle.
Good move, rookie.

It’s not ‘anger’ I feel when observing McCain parrot the phrase associated with his opponent — It’s more like amused embarrassment, thekind you might feel on seeing an older or middle-aged person lowering their pants so that their underwear is showing and trying to dance to the ‘young kids’ music. It’s discomforting to see a guy who once was a man of stature squawk in imitation of his opponent. Well, it’s tragic and sad as well, of course.
Anyone who saw Obama’s acceptance speech sawhim lay out all the details of his platform in specific terms, ET. Your ‘Messiah’ line is old – you must be reading the talking points your Masters dictated to you a couple of weeks ago. Get with the program! Or your Masters will be unhappy!

Absolutely right, Penny. I still think Pat Buchanan delivered one of the best smackdowns ever at a political convention — along the lines of “Clinton considers himself an expert in foreign relations because he’s once eaten at the International House of Pancakes.” And it proved to be so true.

OK all you conservatives show me the exact and explicit connection of the lipstick comment to Palin. If you follow rules of grammar and syntaxt, you can’t. When I saw the broadcast of Barack I saw no connection to Palin. It was only when some handwringing conservative decided to add the spin did I become aware of this “odd’ connection.
At first I thought the handwringers were upset that Barack tried to appropriate McCain’s euphemism. That he was the copyright holder of the “lipstick” comment. But remember handwringers it was Christ who first coined the “pearls before swine” term. So McCain plagarized Christ in my books. My point is this argument is as non-sensical as this debate.
