  1. We are having a heck of a zucchini crop this year. Which is both a blessing and a curse. We’ll be setting up a box and locals can drop by and take what they need. I’ll drop an “address” next week or the other. It all depends on the weather. Check again later on “Reader Tips”. We’re in BC, so you New Brunswickers may want to stay put.

  2. Still in shock but not surprised …..I attended an Oakville high school graduation last week where the white kids were outnumbered 8 to 1 . Happy Canada Day ….

    1. from the link, despite Jodi Foster being a dyke, lve always found her my type, cute in a ‘girl-next-door’ way but tough as pig iron and smart enough when the situation dictates (as portrayed in her roles) spilling over in real life.
aka she is the rare type migrated successfully from child roles into adult.

    1. Contrast this with “Citizen Vigilante”,, made for 5 million and realizing 67 million in its first week despite being banned in Germany and the United Kingdom. People want good story telling, relevant to their lives and will vote with their wallets accordingly.

      1. Triggers an old joke from waay back.
‘Who was first to fly non-stop across the Atlantic?’
        >Sammy Davis Junior!
        ‘No, was Alcock and Brown.’
        >That’s what I said, Sammy Davis Junior.

        …..I’ll be going now ….

    2. l want ALL these godam hollyweird ‘blockbusters’ to flop.
      all of them every time.
and do so increasingly spectacular ways and genres. l friggin detest hollyweird and the way they RAM visual pus in our eyes and ears and ‘act’ (pun intended) like its what we ‘want’.

    1. so les gookes ont trouver yet another way to download ‘quality control’ and ‘costs of production’ on somebody else.
now its every nation in the world with an interest in a tidy LEO. as if they dont even care about their OWN interests?
well, dont fergit their long loooooong history of sacrificing the lives on many millions of their own for financial then ideological reasons.

    1. Latest reports say six have died. Some of the wounded could be children. At least five of the dead were adults, including four women. If the youth center is for younger children, most likely a nutter.

    2. as an experiment, l tried to follow one of the links on the same page as the story.
migawd, fighting and fighting and fighting ads ads ads ads ads.
to the point following that link was impossible. a fitting meta [or is that META?]phor
what this entangled ‘web’ has become.

  3. Poland makes a decision, just under $5 billion USD for 3 SAAB A26 submarines, keep in mind these are 1/2 the size of the units Canada is considering from either South Korea or Germany, the Baltic is a lot smaller, shallower, but busier, than the Atlantic/Pacific, and the SAAB is super quiet.
I think it’s a major mis-step for Canada to dismiss buying US Virginia class submarines as the Australians are, even while this country’s economy is on the ropes.

    1. Poland is now at 4.48% of GDP for NATO spending and 50% of that on equipment, whereas Canada in the past decade was closer to 1.4% of GDP for NATO spending and sometimes near to 10% on equipment.

Canada’s first new ship, HMCS Fraser is expected to be in the water 2035, you go to war with the military you have, not the military you’d hoped for, or promised in the heat of an election…

        1. Coast Guard? Some of these billion dollar babies are Royal Canadian Navy and they have no real guns or missiles. A random Chinese fishing trawler would put them on the bottom. WWII PT boats outgunned them.

    2. “I think it’s a major mis-step for Canada to dismiss buying US Virginia class submarines as the Australians are, even while this country’s economy is on the ropes. ”

It really is. I had always heard that the Americans offered us a 688 boat before we went and bought UK diesel-electrics. Trust the Canadian government to focus on chasing drug runners and foreign fishing trawlers rather than acquiring something that can actually operate under the polar ice (which Canada has a lot of) to patrol and protect our sovereignty.

According to a POLITICO report, the EU Commission’s Berlaymont building in Brussels turned off air conditioning on floors one through seven last week “due to extreme weather conditions”.

However, the outlet claimed that air conditioning remained on for floors eight through 13, where EU President Ursula von der Leyen and her 26 commissioners work.
    .
..saying temperatures on the floor still reached 25.7°C (78.26°F) on Friday.
