Plants eat C02. Who knew?
Increasing exposure to carbon dioxide appears to boost crop yields, Hans-Joachim Weigel of the Johann Heinrich von Thuenen Institute for rural areas, forestry and fisheries in the central city of Brunswick told AFP.
“Output increased by about 10 percent for barley, beets and wheat” when the plants were subjected to higher levels of carbon dioxide, Weigel said.

My heart goes out to the German taxpayers that helped fund the study…

I knew it. That is why I have no fear of the mythical global warming.
When we do have some warming as we have in the past, it won’t be because cows fart or we exhale or that we have a robust economy, it will be because of a natural cycle of the sun in tandem with ocean currents and cloud cover.
I am not a scientist and even I know this. I have read enough real science to figure that out.
It is standard practice for farmers who use green houses to add CO2 to the air to make their crops grow better. I wonder if they will be allowed to do that in the4 future now that it is a pollutant
Only leftist could possibly think the human output of C02 is even remotely significant compared to the amount consumed by the vast masses of plankton in the oceans. Humans can hardly do anything about a pine beetle infestation, yet liberals have no problem accepting the idea Dion can just raise a tax and that will somehow affect Earth’s climate. I really do pity people this dumb…

Knight; I knew this as a fifth grader. We were told not to have plants in the room where we slept because it was believed they used oxygen at night and co2 in the daylight. Today we know that they just use lower levels of co2 at night, no oxygen. I’ll date myself; that was in the early fifties.
If the wonder age dimwits were successful in diminishing co2 levels, would deserts increase in size dramatically? Just a thought; and Harry Potter is a documentary, there was a shooter on the grassy knoll, and Elvis was seen…..! You know what I’m sayin man?

Actually Doogie, oxygen isn’t flammable. It’s consumed during combustion and is necessary for combustion and additional O2 can make flammable materials volatile, but it doesn’t itself burn.

Perhaps we could get them to explore the effects of C02 on the ability to have logical thought in lefty brains.
It’s a tough call, as C02 increases would (in a lefty):
a)logical thought increase since with less oxygen available to run the core “spin” processes, more logic might escape*.
b)Lefty spin increase, but become even more fractured as the core “spin” processes greedily grab all the remaining brain functions.
Given the nature of lefties to save themselves no matter the cost to others, I will go with b.
* Of course, this would only be a short term increases since Logic and Lefty Spin are like matter and anti-matter. If a) is true, then perhaps we could monitor exploding lefty heads as a sign of increasing CO2 levels if this was the case??? Hmmm, nice thought for the day!!
Wow, I never knew there was a limitation on how long basic scientific truths could be considered “discovered”.
So now I will now watch an apple fall from a tree and propose that there is a force, lets call it gravity….oh and I was thinking the other day that Energy equalled the Mass multipled by some constant, the speed of light squared…..I mean that means that if you could split small amounts of matter you could get enormous energy….hmm what could I do with that?

i read about the antitranspiration effect of co2. i think it means that plants can also thrive in dry climates will less rain.
CO2 is released during any fermentation process, so in order to encourage more food production, we should all consume more alcohol.

This ain’t news to me.
I saw a report on Vermont PBS many years ago ( 7 or 8 years ago ) about some experiment( paid for by the US government ) and they had already concluded that the more co2 there is, the faster and fuller plants/trees grow.
At that point they just didn’t know what the long term effect would be, but there was no doubt, forests and crops love co2.
Warmer temperatures,more c02 and more water.
I feel a vibrant ecosystem coming on.
One thing that confounds me about the “Global WARMongers” is this notion that climate warming will cause more droughts. Since frickin’ when? The Ice Age was colder and drier than the previous period of almost tropical weather in what are now temperate zones, and the post-Ice Age Neolithic was wetter and warmer. DUH.
I saw one idiot on TV who claimed there are not enough trees and plants on the planet to accomodate all the people. As a result, he claims the excess CO2 is released to the atmosphere contributing to the global warming problem. I’m still laughing.
