Re the bulldozers. If I get your meaning, the readers here don’t react to what’s going on in Venezuela perhaps because we know an already flushed toilet when we see one.
It is also tedious and boring to watch Venezuela go the way of so many other countries over the last 100 years. They never last, but it seems to take forever for them to ultimately implode. Sort of like watching mud dry.
And I haven’t the faintest idea whey a Jew would want to live anywhere but in the USA.

WLMR — It should be noted that the “Protocols” wasn’t devised by the Soviets, but by the secret police of the previous Tsarist regime. There was a long history of anti-Semitism in Russia long before the Communists (as evidenced by the many pogroms) so it’s little wonder that the same deeply ingrained attitudes of bigotry persisted under subsequent regimes. Perhaps to some extent it does to this day, I’m not sure. Anti-Semitism was also quite plainly evident in many non-Communist, non-socialist states, so attempting to inextricably yoke the two things together might be a bit foolish.
Not that I’m defending the old Soviets, expressing support for Chavez or anything of the sort. I’m just suggesting that this line of argument is deeply flawed, especially as relies on some rather sweeping generalizations that are highly questionable at best.
“Leftism”, if I can collect that motley assortment of mental malfunctions under one label, is purely a totalitarian impulse. Its rooted in the bone-deep fear that someone, somewhere might be enjoying themselves.

Truth is anti-semitism is real old in eastern Europe so it is hardly surprising that any regime will co-opt it for their own purposes. Does anybody think that Russia and Poland are any less anti-semitic now that they are democracies of a sort ? Maybe they are a little less open about it is all.
