    I always prefer the term “page views”, myself.
    In Kate’s case, page views/visits mean that people are reading and responding to the comments (as opposed to news aggregation sites where page views mean that the communication is one-way) because the comments are more important/interesting than the main SDA page’s article/link.
    Always beware a site that uses “hits” as a measure of popularity. One person visiting one webpage that has 9 pictures on it registers as 10 “hits”. That’s often a sneaky way to embellish a site’s status by a considerable factor.
