Chi-llary

Michael McCullough;

After the fundraising scandals of President Bill Clinton’s 1996 reelection campaign, the dangers of vacuuming cash from a politically inexperienced immigrant community should have been obvious. But Ms. Clinton’s money machine seized on a new source of cash in Chinatown and environs. As the Times reported, a single Chinatown fundraiser in April brought in $380,000. By contrast, 2004 Democratic presidential nominee John F. Kerry raised $24,000 from Chinatown in the course of his entire campaign.
Oh, it starts off very, very well. But by the end of the story, the Washington Post demonstrated its editorial-by-committee policy and allows Hillary to play the race card: The alternative, the campaign says, would be to prevent those with foreign-sounding names from participating in the political process.

Foreign names like “Charlie Trie”, a Chinese busboy from Little Rock;

[…] able to tap into millions of People’s Republic of China dollars for Clinton’s defense fund and even brought in a major Chinese arms dealer, Wang Jun, as a guest to the White House. Only four days before Wang Jun’s White House visit, the Clinton Administration granted an import permit for a Chinese military front company, Poly Technologies, to allow them to import over 100,000 semi-automatic weapons and millions of rounds of ammunition to a Detroit company, China Jiang An. China Jiang An also had close ties to the Chinese military.

More – Somebody’s trying to keep Hillary from winning the nomination. And it’s not a Republican.

  1. I hope as we near the next election the Democrats cannibalize each other. Hillary is the most divisive candidate that the Dems could ever come up with. She is loathed by a large segment of Americans and the Clinton baggage of sleazy behavior would be easy pickings for the Republicans. Obama on the other hand, a lightweight by every measure, isn’t electable either. So, there you have it, the bottomline is that the Dems really haven’t got anyone. If the Dems are undermining Hillary via Obama, I don’t see where they have an alternative candidate to the two to fill the vacuum.
    That all said, never underestimate the stupidity of segments of the electorate – the unions, victim whiners, the it’s-all-about-oil moonbats and the GW hysterics. The question is how many of them are out there.
    The Republicans have done a lot of damage to their base with their refusal to deal with illegals, lack of fiscal discipline and poor articulation of issues to voters. They need to clean up their act fast. Bobby Jindal should serve as a model for them. He proved that if you articulate conservative principles and have a clear plan to enact them people appreciate your principles and reasoning.

  2. The incident cited where a Klinton friend was allowed to import hundreds of thousands of Chinese made Norinco AK47s made the Klinton’s the poster kids for the NRA (particularly after it was the Klintons who sponsored the assault weapons ban which outlawed these very guns)
    Add to that that the incident that ensued when the ship carrying the contraband Chinese arms docked at a west coast port…. the ATF were onto it and had staged a raid to catch the cargo’s owner when they were told to “stand down” by some heavy duty bosses in the CIA…so the Klintons are not exactly the security services, IRS and US Customs favorite kids either.
    I have no doubt there are elements in the Democratic party that are trying desperately to clean it up of the type of transnationalist profiteers (like the Klintons invited into the party funding ranks)…how successful they will be in dusting off this corrupt Klintonista element is anybody’s guess.

  3. The problem is that, in the U.S. (just as in Canada) the electorate no longer gives a s**t about corruption. Not too many years ago, stuff like this would have killed any national campaign. Now the jaded voters just yawn. A fart in a windstorm. The tale of Hillary’s exciled cat will probably hurt her more.

  4. The question is, who is really trying to make sure the Hildebeast does win the nomination?
    Living in the USA during the Klinton years, I can tell you that most of the Americans I knew believed that the Hildebeast would render her own mother down to tallow if would advance her in her quest for power.

  5. Seems to me pretty clear the 08 presidential campaign will turn not on whether the Dems are a house divided over their ultimate candidate, but on whether the Repubs can get the vote out to the same extent as Bush.
    Unfortunately, I doubt they can – there is always a percentage whose voting decision is primarily driven by performance of the incumbent and you need look no further than Bush’s support numbers to safely predict whether that percentage is likely to show up to vote next November. Furthermore, as the 00 and even the 04 elections demonstrated, it doesn’t take more than a few percentages of your base being MIA to turn the result.
    In light of this, all the Dems have to do is stay away as much as possible from hot button issues like gay marriage and abortion that would incite the Rep base and the presidency is probably theirs for the taking.

  6. It is interesting to look at drug company stocks when thinking about the ’08 US election. Currently outfits such as Merk and Pfizer are trading at a major discount, even though they have some impressive drugs in the approval pipeline. Lots of people are hanging fire on buying drug companies. The whole segment is down.
    Why? Because if a DemocRat wins the ’08 presidency, there will be socialized medicine and drug price controls. Which is bad, but perhaps not catastrophic because they won’t go to a one payer system. Only Canadians are stupid enough to swallow that.
    However if Hillary wins, there will be HillaryCare. That’s her special blend of socialism and HMO craziness, where it becomes illegal to switch doctors and other kinds of really special fun like that. HillaryCare will do to the US health care industry what canceling the Arrow did to Canadian aerospace. It will be a disaster of historic proportions.
    Funny how NOBODY ever mentions that kind of thing. Not even on Bloomberg!

  7. Shaken, that’s a really good question. Who benefits from Hillary in the White House? Off hand I’d say the Chicoms, given the Chinese bus boys and Charlie Trie.
    Other beneficiaries will be Iran, Syria, N. Korea, Cuba…

  8. those with foreign-sounding names
    Maybe it’s just the result of living and working where I do, but I don’t even know what this means. Here in the USA, and undoubtedly in Canada, there are plenty of surnames from almost any country you could mention, and I’ve worked for a Dutch citizen (born in the Netherlands) named Fred and, at the same company, a native-born US citizen named Monesh, so I really don’t know what a “foreign-sounding name” is.

  9. Murky political donations ostensibly made by ethnic Americans as part of the democratic political process but in fact buying favors for a foreign country. A socialist country which is frequently embroiled in spying scandals against the same country whose government it is trying to bribe, and which is constantly in a state of hostility with its neighbors. Yep, it’s gotta be China. Or maybe Israel. One or the other.
    BTW stop worrying so much about Hillary. She’s a reliable warmonger, in every sense of the word “war”. She’s selling the same stew of expansionist domestic and foreign policies, only with slightly different spices and sold with slightly different rhetoric, presented in a fake ebonics accent instead of a fake redneck accent. In the broad scheme of things, if you’re a high-level government employee or government contractor with connections in either the USA or in a pliant enough foreign country, you’ll do about as well under Clinton II as under Bush II. If not then you’re screwed – because unfortunately for you, they have an awfully large omelette to make.

  10. Penny, Do not feed the trolls. Joe whatshispuss is the same robert with initials that is the computer genius that always manage to dis Kate after a few weeks. Can’t help himself. He also hates cops too.

  11. God you can be miserable Penny, love it, keep it up, is your middle name mother-in-law?

  12. Americans have resigned themselves that their system is corrupt. Now all they can hope for is a government with a little heart as opposed to no heart.

  13. I heard where bill clintons own half brother says that bill has a nose like a vacume cleaner or like the vacume monster from yellow submarine
