I asked two medical doctors and a elementary school principal what greenhouse gas was doing the most warming. All three responded with “CO2” When I told them they were wrong. That it was in fact H2O they didn’t belive me. When I explained that H2O was responsible for 90% of the greenhouse warming they still didn’t belive me. When I explained that CO2 absorbed energy in three narrow windows and that H2O absorbed energy in two of these windows thus competing with CO2 for the energy and that H2O was absorbing in many more windows they started to question their point of view. When I mentioned that CO2 was absorbing all the energy available and that the Nimbus 4 ? satellite showed that no energy in the CO2 windows was being detected from space they all looked perplexed. I told them to check it out and let me know where I was wrong. No response yet.
Dion and all those who support Kyoto need to know just how wrong they are and why.

How could I miss the technological breakthroughs the Liberals caused to the lifting, pipelining, cleaning, transporting and refining of crude oil and bitumen that reduced the energy costs by 45%.

The Liberals were never concerned with CO2, pollution or the health of the people of Canada. When they began shoving Kyotee down the throats of Canadians it was ‘global warming’ not ‘climate change’ that the Kyotee crackpots were fog horning about. Kelly is correct – climates change – from the north pole to the south pole, from summer to winter – ‘Climate change’ is an open ended catch phrase that means nothing, sort of like saying ‘money spends’. Misplaced modifiers are the culprits in both of the above illogical statements. Climate is a noun, it needs a qualifier to make sense when modified by an adverb or a Gerund. Change, in this instance, is undefined – is it an adverb, a noun, a verb or a Gerund? ‘Dress change’, ‘eye change’, house change’….?
IMO, when the people of a nation are being lectured with a ‘catch phrase’ that makes no grammatical sense then they should question the reason for the error. They should assume that they are being hoodwinked.
In the case of the Liberanos it was all about another get rich quick scheme via the Canadian taxpayer. Just sell ‘carbon credits’ and stash the money in Ol’ Uncle Mo’s account in China. Pollution is never mentioned.
I do believe that Conservatives are using the catch phrase, climate change, as a vehicle to clean up pollution and force big polluters to use technology to stop poisoning the air, land and water. PMSH has said that a clean up is mandatory – he says that ‘buying a way out’ will not be an option. I like this approach as I am against poisoning the world to make some people wealthier and more powerful.
I really tried to listen to this, but after about 30 seconds clicked the thing off in disgust. WTF did the Liebrals find this moron? The Shawinagan strangler is a master orator in comparison to this clueless idiot.
What I’ve never been able to figure out is why the Liebrals seem to have the worst English speakers from Quebec? Any politician in Quebec whose second language is English, and spoken well, seems to gravitate to the PQ; Jacques Parizeau had flawless English and he is just one of many separatist politicians who seem to have had no problem in learning the language of their opponent extremely well.
What I’ve heard of Dion speaking in French makes as little sense as his mangled English. The guy seems incapable of rational thought.
I can’t wait until the next campaign when Harper is going to absolutely destroy Dion in any debate. The only worrisome aspect is that a large fraction of Toronto residents may be at Dion’s intellectual level or below.

I am French Canadian. This Dion clip was so difficult and painful to listen to. I had to stop partway through. I give up trying to understand ANYTHING that comes out of this persons’ mouth.

But to be fair (choke) the Libs did spend all those years putting fewer greenhouse gases in each barrel of oil. If they had put no GHGs in each barrel, maybe we wouldn;t have a problem. What the hell was he talking about, fewer GHGs in each barrel? Processing efficiencies? We pump it out of the ground, stick it in a pipeline and pump it to another country where it is turned into gasoline and sent back to us. Where does the big efficiency come from that leads to less GHG per barrel?
His bit about newer cars polluting less is a bit of a smoke screen. Newer cars are more efficient, they get more distance per unit fuel. That efficiency results in more of the hydrocarbon being converted to CO2 and less to CO, NOx, SOx, etc. Now that we consider CO2 to be a pollutant, newer cars are no less polluting per unit fuel than older cars, just different gases.
Dion is a sociology professor. I don’t need to insult him further. That says enough.

Great fun to go up to a group in a bar, or meeting, etc and looked shocked and say, I’m sorry, you just insulted me. Do you know what you just said. A few years ago, there was some female anchor on cbc who used her hands a lot. After a few calls to the cbc, complaining she was insulting the deaf, the message got to her. She never used her hands for an entire program, and every time she started to she would catch herself and put them under the table, behind her back etc. Think I will call iggy’s office and say he insulted me in the house of commons, with his hands.
