“The greatest post in the history of the Democratic Underground”, Part II

May I interrupt the handful of you in this thread clinging to the various permutations of “inside job” theories of 9/11?
A structural engineer has kindly forwarded this photo of what happens to structural steel in a fire.
structural_fire_closeup.jpg
Wider view.
He adds;

Regarding the post on the World Trade Center and collapse associated with
fire, steel becomes soft long before it reaches it’s melting point. As to
the Trade center, it was built with fire resistant cladding (asbestos and
mineral wool) which was blown away by the explosion. The collapse is
entirely understandable with jet fuel as a combustion source. I am a
professional engineer and have worked on buildings affected by fire.
Attached is a picture of a structural fire with some small and large joists.
No particularly intense fuel sources or explosions were present, but the
smaller joists sagged while the larger composite beam buckled due to
elevated temperatures.

Now, I admit it’s not as compelling as an experiment with kerosene, concrete blocks and chicken wire, but it’s the best we can do for you.
Now, if I may, here are the directions to Truthout.org where you may continue the discussion.

  1. Why do trolls have to have this total lack of vocabulary skills and a disregard for correct grammar and syntax?
I mean that defeats the purpose does it not… if you cannot type in clear and concise english how are we supposed to believe a word yous say?
Only pre teens display this type of mangling of the Queens english…
Then we have the overuse of irc/e-mail abbreviations… methinks they spend far to much time in cyberspace and not enough time in the real world.

  2. Remember that the next time one of your buddies calls global warming a hoax.
Global warming is real all right. In fact, satellite images over the last 40 years have shown a readily-visible reduction in the polar ice caps.
Oh, wait… did you think I was talking about the Earth? No, I was talking about Mars, with all its SUVs and factories churning out greenhouse gas…

  3. Neutralsam,
I’m sorry… After viewing the billiard ball sequence and the chicken wire experiment, I can now say that yes, it was an inside detonation job.
I think it was probably D.B. Cooper, and Jimmy Hoffa who set this thing up for George Bush and the Jews. As a matter of fact, I heard that when some of the FDNY people when back to their firetrucks after the collapse, there was a hook from an escaped mental patient hanging on the door.
You wouldn’t happen to be missing a hook, would you?

  4. • A few facts about Israel:
Israel is the 100th largest country in the world. YS: Much of that land is illegally seized, stolen, or annexed Palestinian land.
The cell phone was developed by Israelis working in the Israeli branch of Motorola, which has its largest development center in Israel. See next entry.
Most of the Windows NT and XP operating systems were developed by Microsoft-Israel. YS: Let us not forget that all this could not have happened without the 160 BILLION American hard-earned tax dollar gifts and our continued ca. 16 BILLION a year in aid and other benefits. Had that combined amount been given to the Palestinians then the roles would be quite reversed.
The Pentium MMX Chip technology was designed in Israel at Intel. Both the Pentium-4 microprocessor and the Centurion processor were entirely designed, developed and produced in Israel. YS: Ditto to all of these accomplishments.
The Pentium microprocessor in your computer was most likely made in Israel. YS: Ditto.
Voice mail technology was developed in Israel. YS: Ditto.
Both Microsoft and Cisco built their only R&D facilities outside the US, in Israel. YS: Ditto.
The technology for the AOL Instant Messenger ICQ was developed in 1996 by four young Israelis. YS: Ditto.
Israel’s $100 billion economy is larger than all of its immediate neighbors combined. YS: So, why are we still giving them BILLIONS of our hard-earned tax dollars every year while too many thousands of American children hungry go to sleep every night because their parents cannot afford to buy adequate food?
According to airline industry officials, Israel has industry’s most impenetrable flight security. US officials now look to Israel for advice on how to handle airborne security threats. YS: Had they not stolen land belonging to the Palestinians, and had they lived next to their Arab neighbors in peace, then none of this would be necessary. I think that Ambassador Daniel Bernard may have had this in mind when he made his comment about israel being a shitty country.
Israel produces more scientific papers per capita than any other nation by a large margin – 109 per 10,000 people –as well as one of the highest per capita rates of patents filed. YS: Are not many of these military-based, and is not israel possess the 13th most powerful military in the world, and is it not one of the largest builders and suppliers of military equipment thanks to US-supplied technology?
Israel has the second largest number of startup companies in the world behind the U.S., and the largest number of per capita startup companies in the world. YS: YS: Ditto re the BILLIONS of dollars in gifts.
Israel has the 2nd highest concentration of hi-tech companies in the world behind Silicon Valley in the U.S. YS: Ditto.
Israel is ranked #2 in the world for venture capital funds behind the U.S. YS: Ditto.
Israel has the 3rd largest number of NASDAQ listed companies behind U.S. and Canada. YS: Ditto.
On a per capita basis, Israel has the largest number of biotech startups in the world. YS: Ditto.
Twenty-four per cent of Israel’s workforce holds university degrees, ranking third in the industrialized world, after the United States and Holland, and 12 per cent hold advanced degrees. YS: Ditto.
Israel is the only liberal democracy in the Middle East. YS: Not true. It is commonly referred to as a Jewish state, thus it is for the exclusive benefit of Jews. There is no Constitution, no bill of rights, by law there is no israeli citizenship, only Jewish citizenship, Arabs are denied most rights, a rabbi in Brooklyn may be the deciding factor its during elections, it is the most racist government in the world, and when might we expect a Palestinian president or prime minister of israel? besides, Hamas is a democratically elected government with over 70 percent of the vote, and under the keen watchful eyes of the EU and our own Jimmy Carter.
When Golda Meir was elected Prime Minister of Israel in 1969, she became the world’s second elected female leader in modern times. YS: There has not been another since, while there were 4 women prime ministers – in Turkey, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Indonesia.
Israel has the third highest rate of entrepreneurship—and the highest rate among women and among people over 55 – in the world. YS: Thanks to the American largesse of BILLIONS or hard-earned American tax dollars while, again, many American children suffer from lack of food and the US still does not have a national health care system.
Relative to its population, Israel is the largest immigrant-absorbing nation on earth. YS: Perhaps, but for JEWS EXCLUSIVELY. Again, there is no israeli citizenship; only Jewish. So, you have to be a Jew. That’s a democracy?
Israel publishes the world’s second highest per capita of new books. YS: Ditto, thanks to the US gifts.
Israel is the only country in the world that entered the 21st century with a net gain in its number of trees, achieved in an area that is primarily desert. YS: Shocking that this be told when israelis have uprooted hundreds of thousands of income and sustenance producing olive and citrus trees. Sixteen such uprooted trees that line Marting Luther King Blvd. in Tel Aviv were stolen from an Arab orchard. Coretta King, wife of Martin, was asked to refuse the invitation to attend ceremonies. She attended. Martin would roll over in his grave and moan “Oy, vay!”
Israel has more museums per capita than any other country. YS: Are not many stolen Arab and Islamic artifacts on display?
Israeli scientists developed the first fully computerized, no-radiation, diagnostic instrumentation for breast cancer. YS: Ditto re American largesse.
An Israeli company developed a computerized system for ensuring proper administration of medications, removing human error from medical treatment. (Every year in U. S. hospitals over 100,000 patients die from medical errors). YS: Ditto.
Israel’s Givun Imaging developed the first ingestible video camera, so small it fits inside a pill. Used to view the small intestine from the inside, cancer and digestive disorders. YS: Ditto.
Israel leads the world in the number of scientists and technicians in the workforce, with 145 per 10,000, as opposed to 85 in the U. S., over 70 in Japan, and less than 60 in Germany. YS: Ditto, again.
An Israeli company was the first to develop and install a large-scale solar-powered and fully functional electricity generating plant, in southern California’s Mojave desert. Ditto, too.
ALL THE ABOVE WHILE ENGAGED IN REGULAR WARS WITH AN IMPLACABLE ENEMY THAT SEEKS ITS DESTRUCTION, AND AN ECONOMY CONTINUOUSLY UNDER STRAIN BY
HAVING TO SPEND MORE PER CAPITA ON ITS OWN PROTECTION THAN ANY OTHER COUNTY ON EARTH. THE STATE OF ISRAEL CONTINUES TO EXCEL ! YS: And all at the expense of American taxpayers.
AND THE FRENCH AMBASSADOR IN ENGLAND SAYS “ISRAEL IS NOTHING BUT A SHITTY LITTLE COUNTRY.”
(YS: It was Ambassador Daniel Bernard)
YS: My own reflection: Jews have indeed developed admirable technology but moans and groans about being shekel-poor, which just ain’t so. Oil-producing Arab countries have enormous amounts of wealth but are technology-poor, largely due to western restrictions of them becoming industrialized and developing nations that would threat its economy. Now, here’s an idea that Jews and Arabs seem to have missed: If Jewish technology and vast Arab wealth were to come together, like chocolate and peanut butter, then might there not arise an enormous thriving joint economy that would rival the entire west? And, whom might not want to see such a joint capital venture? The UK that had to reduce its work force some 20 years ago to 4 days a week to avoid national bankruptcy? The US that is the biggest debtor nation in the world? Hmmmm…
YS: So, do Jews want peace, or do they want “piece”, as in “Hey! Let’s look around for another piece of land to steal from the Arabs.”
