An SDA regular was looking to buy some beer in Ontario. His search revealed something very interesting. Note the small print on blue background at the top. How come the beer brewed in Canada is so much more expensive than that made in and shipped from America?

Blame your government. Excise taxes, SIN taxes…which are MUCH higher than those in the US. Additionally, your provinces want a “taste” of the action so they set up monopolistic government agencies that set the minimum price amounts on Canadian brewed beers (all beers, not just those with an American brand name). Then there are the containers (which are higher due to tariffs on raw materials)….but don’t forget the “Green policies” that make use of these raw materials even more expensive.
As it is … the sin taxes and bottle return tax have put me off beer entirely here in CA … which is really quite like Canada. No, I’m not paying $15.00 for a six pack
PS … it’s Kirin when you’re beerin… GO ichiban Japan! Leading Brazil 1-0 at the half
That was a joke of a sales pitch my friend – the advertising copyrighter – used to quote when we were drinking beers.

All booze up!
The “elbows up” campaign was unnecessary. Trump hurt Americans with his trade policies far more than Canadians ever could. It was the economic equivalent of stepping on a rake.
Stepping on a rake was the right move for Thomas Hogarth, but the rest of us should think twice.
Like Hogarth’s Rake, we may all be in Bedlam.
As for Miller beer, I wouldn’t drink that swill even if it was free.
The real question is how cheaply can Canadians buy Tsingtao beer?

Pronounced … Ching Dao … to all the Punjabi-speakers in Canada
Ridiculous comment. Trumps trade policies put Canada out of the running.
C’mon people, Miller Genuine Draft is not a beer.
