This Islamic Congress, did it get money from the former government, or donate to the Liberal Party? Or Both?
Mildly curious.
Or are they just afraid of fairly straight forward politicians that won’t cower to every passing wind.
If Elmasry’s pissed off, it must mean something good’s goin’ on.
What would I have to do to get my name on that list?
What Elmasry is likely worried about is that perhaps these folks might really infringe on the Right and Freedom to organize and fundraise for terrorist groups, or use Canada as a staging ground for future operations. Oh, no!
Slightly related …
Those Mohammed cartoons were printed in Egyptian newspaper Al Fagr back in * October 2005. *
That’s right, October.
Via LGF —> http://egyptiansandmonkey.blogspot.com/2006/02/boycott-egypt.html
Strangley, there was no co-ordinated outrage at that time.
Still, it’s time to boycott all things Egyptian. So no more … hmmmm, what the hell is it that those people produce?
Police state? Taking away rights and freedoms?
This is political hate speech from the Islamic Congress.
Where are the RCMP speech cops when you need them? lol
The Left has done it’s work and taught them well.
Tell you what if this is a police state then why do those people at the muslim congress have the right to leave this country and go back to where they came from.In other words p##s off!!!!!
Aw, c’mon, do the parody!
PLEEEEEEEEASE?
Oh, and BTW, all criticisms of MY grammer and/or spelling are appreciated, but I suggest pointing out Kates typos is a little silly, since she writes better than all of us.
“The CIC nevertheless still hopes to soon open up a healthy dialogue with PM Stephen Harper’s new cabinet — especially with the group it calls the
“most feared five” — Stockwell Day (Public Safety), Peter MacKay (Foreign Affairs), Lawrence Cannon (Transport), Vic Toews (Justice) and Monte Solberg (Citizenship and Immigration).”
The approach leaves something to be desired.
Islamic Congress looking for friends in government?
Interesting approach for a group that supposedly want to open a “healthy dialogue” with the government. Here’s a hint, you might want to tone down the rhetoric a tad and drop the “feared five” tag.
Lawrence Cannon? What did he ever say that was pro-Israel or anti-muslim? For frig’s sake, he was a city councillor in Gatineau and President of the Public Transit Company. Maybe the fact that the STO’s buses are painted Israeli blue scares them.
Idiocy…
C’mon folks, have some compassion. It’s not easy these days being a blood-thirsty Islamist fascist. Everybody’s trying to stop them. Can’t we accept them for what they are? So they want all of us dead, what’s the big deal? We can’t just take their rights away or, gasp, elect a Conservative government. That would be wrong. Islamist terrorists should be free to plan our death, without the constraint of following the law and accepting the norms of our society. Otherwise, well Canada is just a police state, which ironically enough, is what Bin Laden and his ilk would do with Canada if they had the power.
The CIC nevertheless still hopes to soon open up a healthy dialogue with PMStephen Harper’s new cabinet — especially with the group it calls the”most feared five” — Stockwell Day (Public Safety), Peter MacKay (ForeignAffairs), Lawrence Cannon (Transport), Vic Toews (Justice) and MonteSolberg (Citizenship and Immigration).
nothing like sticking the knife into the ribs as you reach to shake their hands….
For thos interested , Elmasry (CIC) is a tenured professor in electrical engineering at University of Waterloo.
… your tax dollars are in part funding this SOB.
The only reason Elmasry singled out those specific five is for the portfolio’s they have just received. Obviously Day is not generally for the prohibition of freedom and rights, if you have read anything he has written. Same for the rest of the ‘evil five’.
Elmasry knows if any further actions are taken against terrorist activities, they will definitly involve Public Safety, ForeignAffairs, Transport, Justice, and Citizenship and Immigration.
By targetting specific people, instead of issues, you can concentrate your anger towards a few tangible targets, which would also help spread your message. When will the left wake up.
It looks like Elmasry is using tactics from the left, but is now also learning from the right, Laying out his ‘five point plan’ early.

Grammer freaks can piss off now.
The CIC sounds like they want the same freedoms, rights and priviledges they enjoyed in their home land? Oh wait .. they left there for our system so what’s the problem? Even if the Hitlarian CPC gets a bit tougher on crime, it’s still light years away from the kinds of repression in the Middle East. They have nothing to complain about other than a possible sharper focus on some their goings on. It’s about protecting the public from dangerous people … most Canadians are for that.
Fact: Muslims have proven themselves to be generally a violent people who place greater value on death than life. Opposite of our values.
They will never assimilate into Western culture. They made that clear. They want their own system of religion-based justice to operate in tandum with what’s left of our idiotic bleeding-heart lawyer-based system. Theirs includes the subjugation of their women. How can this possibly work?
There hasn’t been much in the way of rioting here over the cartoon thing, but when there are about a million more of them living here, that will change.
To quote the late great Frank Zappa. “who could imagine” Point being, it can and will happen here.
We can send McLelland out to calm them down. He seems to have all the understanding needed.
Monte Solberg doesn’t scare me, he gives me hope.
MacKay scares me, he’s a bit of a horny dolt.
When you consider the demographic that “news release” is focused at has limited understanding of western law and its institutions…and that any “understanding” they do have comes from the narrow manipulative clannish ethnic lobbies like the CIC…this is first rate propaganda copy…Heir Goebbels would be proud of this effort. Great inflamatory misdirection with good potential for inciting mob-think in the focal community.
We note the wording in this 5th columnist agitiation piece was carefully scripted to gain maximum fear and loathing in the target audience while escaping the wrath of the “hate laws”, which I’m sure this lobby plays like a stradivarius.
These people are dangerous nutters and certainly function in a self imposed vacuum apart from mainstream Canada.
I personally I’m thankful that fanatic seditious agitators like Elmasry are closely watched by CSIS and the info is shared with the FBI and interpol.
Hmmm…the Islamic Congress being fearful of the Anti-Terrorism Act…sounds a little like a pedophile criticizing criminal provisions against having sex with kids, doesn’t it? I thought these folks, being Canadian residents, would be supportive of laws intended to protect the public.
The University Of PEI Student Paper published the cartoons. The president of the university had them removed from the unversity grounds. said he didn’t want to offend anyone.”Congrats” to the students they have more balls than the MSM, not to mention the “president” censorshit. No leadership there or in any other University. To Bad, we are all in trouble
Duke “There hasn’t been much in the way of rioting here over the cartoon thing, but when there are about a million more of them living here, that will change.”
So what do you propose doing with a million law abiding citizens?
I keep comments of “when will the left wake up” but other than a bunch of griping about muslims I don’t hear anything tangible being proposed here either. Like it or not, muslims are here to stay.
Britain, a country that knows how to deal with terrorism has just locked up Hamza. He’s a radical cleric who has been distributing terrorist manuals. You may have seen him on the news, he’s the guy with the hook hands.
Lock up the troublemakers and treat law abiding citizens like law abiding citizens.
Oh what fun! I get to dust off by blackshirt after all these years!
The East meets West. There is nothing similar to their or our understanding. I honestly feel we should go back to when immigrants had to wait 5 years to become citizens. We have to tighten up our policies on immigration and if this is what our Conservative government is about then I am sure they will win a majority next time. I also believe that if you become a Canadian citizen you should give up your citizenship of another country. I also hope never to see the day that a hyphenated Canadian becomes Prime Minister. Now, I can say these things because I am hyphenated. I was born in the States and have lived in Canada most of my life. I became a naturalized Canadian citizen in 1987 because my Dad was Canadian. I did not vote in this country until I made a decision to become Canadian. But, lo and behold I must be a native indian (without the perks), since I still am American and can vote there to. Just think of someone who was born in the ME becoming Prime Minister. He could really make a mess of this society. He gets to go back to his native land – with his pension.
My prayer is that our new government will take a good hard look at the way this country is headed. I hope it has the balls to change this politically correct, anything goes road we’ve been on for too long. Those hanging in Limbo awaiting deportation will be shuffled off pronto. And those with just a hint of extremism is sent packing. Course, if all goes wrong I will be welcomed back to my native land.
Dr Elmasry and the Islamic Congress are a truly evil bunch. And to claim that they only want to uphold the Charter is particularly conniving, if they had power then people would have no rights – just like it is in every brutally savage Islamic police state.

Cartoon Protesters Direct Anger at U.S. (Ah-ha! alert)

QALAT, Afghanistan – Police killed four people Wednesday as Afghans enraged over drawings of the Prophet Muhammad marched on a U.S. military base in a volatile southern province, directing their anger not against Europe but America.
The U.S. base was targeted because the United States “is the leader of Europe and the leading infidel in the world,” said Sher Mohammed, a 40-year-old farmer who suffered a gunshot wound while taking part in the demonstration in the city of Qalat.
“They are all the enemy of Islam. They are occupiers in our country and must be driven out,” Mohammed said.
Wednesday’s violence began when hundreds of protesters tried to storm the U.S. base, said Ghulam Nabi Malakhail, a provincial police chief. When warning shots failed to deter them, police shot into the crowd, killing four and wounding 11, he said. >>>

The Charter rights of dozens of Canadians have been entirely terminated because those Canadians were entirely terminated by Muslim terrorists. Two dozen in just the WTC attacks. That savage beast Dr. Elmasry could care less about those Canadian people and the Charter rights they once had – he should be ashamed of himself, along with many Muslims who pretend to be decent human beings.
Do you think, as a show of solidarity with the great multicultural values he hides behind, we will be seeing the good Doctor marching in the next Gay & Lesbian Parade in downtown Torronah >>
its amasing the way those folks keep coming up with ways for us to love them more every day and want to bring more of their fellows into canada . unbelievable
We have no lessons to take from Elmasry.
Whenever has he made a complete, unequivocal denunciation of Islamic terror? Of Islamic oppression of all sorts all over the world?
Who is he to go around saying such things? In Muslim nations, just for badmouthing the state like that, he’d be toast. I’d like to see him go to Iran and criticize Ahmadinejad. No way would he dare. But here in Canada, he can say all he wants and get away with it. And totally take it for granted. Shmuck.
BTW, new post at TCS, “Impure Islam”:
http://thecanadiansentinel.blogspot.com/2006/02/impure-islam-moderate-muslim-speaks.html
Right on, jypsy ont. This is an attempt by Elmasry & co. to see how easy it is to intimidate the Conservative government. I doubt it will work, and I don’t believe we’ll see Mr. Harper dining with the Tamil Tigers, or any other terrorist group to garner a few votes.
I can’t believe this idiot is a prof in my old faculty. I can’t believe I went to the campus store last year and wasted $75.00 on a UW rugby shirt to fit my expanded body, that I can’t wear now because of that moron.
I do hope the good Doctor is available to run for the leadership of the Liberal Paltry of Canada. After all, with one elected insider (Omar Algabra) and all of the city of Toronto as an electoral base, he would be a formidable challenger.
With any luck, the other Liberal cells in Montreal, Vancouver and Halifax could help broaden his support by including disenfranchised strategic voters.
Muslims, cartoons, killings
Moslem cartoons and other Christian cheeks
By Anthony Oluwatoyin

You know there’s a failure to communicate when notorious Vancouver Sheik Younus Kathrada, who reportedly called Jews “brothers of the monkeys and the swine,” becomes a central figure in left-lib media reports calling for calm in the ongoing Moslem cartoon controversy.
The cartoons, first printed in Danish newspapers, feature most controversially, Moslem founding Prophet Mohammed complete with time bomb in turban, warning suicide bombers that he is fresh out of virgins.
Kathrada’s makeover from hatemonger to emissary of peace exposes rather than hides the ugly distance between Western traditions and the savage stranglehold of terror in the Moslem world. When Kathrada says there should be no violence in response to what Moslems consider a capital crime against their prophet, one could choke on one’s own giggle behind the hand.
Beheadings on tape have been justified (oh, I mean “explained”) in terms of attacks on Moslem terrorists, invasion of Moslem nations, mounting beauty pageants, and everything less than the cartoon slur of Mohammed, the very mention of whose name Moslems accompany with the benediction, “Peace be upon Him.”
Yet we are to believe that there is now a call to embrace. The Trojans and their horse couldn’t have perpetrated a finer fraud.
The streets as always have been less inclined to craft such correctness. From Damascus to Beirut, all across Europe, protest has respected only the exact limits of powers that faced it face-to-face. Embassies have been torched with the same ease with which boycotts were urged.
A defense of the actual cartoons would be about as modest a proposal as eating eight-day old babies every other day of the week. CNN would not even show the cartoons — except in pixilated form. >>>

Okay, a bit over the top but please, these guys the “most feared five”??? give me a break, eh. Of all the things they are, honest, truthful, responsible, etc, the word fear is not in there.
BTW: I am punctuation (and spelin) challenged.
Hey looks like that pulled Liberal attack add about the military had some effect.
Ya i’m really scared of living a country that takes its domestic security somewhat seriosuly, now! Terribly sorry that the freedom to promote and perpitrate terrorism will be hindered.
If you ever meet someone who has a hard time finding a reason not to vote for the Liberals (something that happens all to often in this country) just point out some of the radical individuals and groups that support them. People need to ask themselves “if these people support the Liberals because they believe they will create a more favourable environment for the implentation of their ideas, maybe its becasue they will!”
thats scary!

Funny, Mohamed does not look like a Muslim.
Day, Toews, and Solberg won’t be cowed. Who knows about Cannon. Potato Patch Petie has already been cowed, praising Canadian newspapers for not printing the Muhammad cartoons.
Don’t be surprised if Denmark-style intimidation moves here. We are a main beachhead in the global movement, and a right-of-center government was not in the plans.

I have to say I’m a bit surprised that they percieve these “police-state politics”, “began under the former Liberal regime”. I was surprised to not see them liken Harper to Bush and more surprised that they didn’t release such a view BEFORE the elction in an attempt to influence it.
Is this a call to jihad against Canadians, Liberal and Conservative?

Surely you jest! Blair included radical muslims on that post 7/11 committee, and I just read that during the cartoon protest, which included clear hate speech placards, Blair had the police stand back; however they sprung into action and arrested two counter-protesters who had pics of Mohammed.

How dare this wanna be terrorist (now trying to clothe himself in the robes of a civil rights activist) comment on an attempt to bring some sense to our severely flawed security, justice and immigration systems.
His fear of the “Most Feared Five” is that they will be successful in stemming the flow of extremists trying to make Canada their haven. If he is so fearful of the coming police state here, I suggest he return to whatever tolerant and freedom loving Islamic nation he came from.
As far as his belief that any Israeli over age 18 is a legitimate target for attack, I wonder what his reaction would be if every Muslim over 18 in Canada was required to register with the police and be put under surveillance as suspected terrorists.
Cheers
Gerry
I had to put up with Elmsary when I was at the University of Waterloo. He made me sick to my stomach.
Oh the things I could say about him, I hardly know where to start.
Suffice to say that Canadians should be very very leery of him and his ilk.
He has a hidden agenda.
I hope we all see that as the cartoons were published in Egypt in October and other places in September that this is obviously a clever little shit disturbance by Iran and Syria.
So personally I am not about to attack all Muslems and ailienate some very decent 9 to 5 muslem family people around here.
If I got all heated up and glared hate at them, they would know that I stupidly got sucked in by the orchestrated demonstrations and embassy burnings in the middle east.
Nah, I’ll consider the local Muslems as what they are… Canadians.
You can lash out at all Muslems if it makes you feel better, but for every action there is a re-action.
I guess a return of 103 seats for the criminal Liberals instead of a more logical 50 seats just goes to prove how gulible we Canadians really are.
Don’t attack my spelling. If I ever say anything smart, then I’ll spellcheck it.
Attack my argument… please. TG
