  1. I caught part of your Mr. Moe on the telly during his re-opening announcement. Seems like a man with a plan.

    Good for SK.

Well, compared to the rest of us, anyway.

  2. Sweden, they are not going to be talking about a second wave, or when to reopen, or wait for a vaccine. They are not going to self immolate either. Like every country, the greatest number of deaths have been in care homes, and people over 60 years old. Yup, the numbers are worse compared to Norway, Finland, and Denmark; but not as bad as Belgium, Spain, France, or Italy.

Remember, flatten the curve has nothing to do with preventing the virus to spread, it is supposed to take the “very large number” and spread it out over a longer time. Contrary to public belief, Sweden did recommend social distancing, working from home, and limiting travel, they just don’t have mini-hitlers and Karens running around screaming. Oh, and no police handing out tickets. We should be cheering for them so our timid and spineless public health officials and politicians get their asses in gear and stop telling us we will have to wait for zero cases, or a vaccine. That is madness.

    1. Agree Dwayne.

The death rate as of today in Sweden is 200 per million of population – Canada is 54. So current the price for herd immunity in Sweden is 1 death per 5000 people. No massive deficits or wholesale shuttering of economy.

In Canada the current death rate is 1 in 17000 – or 2200 to date. Just a bit higher currently than auto fatalities.

Both Canada and Sweden death rates will go up as this continues – but Sweden should have created an immunity with the majority of their population.

We will still be susceptible and a hell of alot deeper in debt, with many lives and businesses ruined.

    2. I agree with Dwayne and Ward. The lock down was a serious misjudgment. Even in hard-hit Italy, the average age of those dying s 79.5. How has this happened? Who is to blame?

      1. unDork, very little context in your linked article, so no, there is not a big COVID-19 problem in Sveden. Butt reading that article, and reading your comment as to that article tells me your living in a surreal world, not the real world. Hell under 2K deaths, and what is the normal flue death rate, and how much is the count an over count. You are not a deep thinker at all, are you?

  3. Fromth e New York data we see that racism is not why more Blacks and Hispanics died. They were more often exposed to the virus. Work in the differential infection rates and they were no worse off than Whites.

  4. If it can be carried by cats, there will possibly be transmission to rats and mice, dogs, coyotes, foxes, deer, and the rest of the menagerie that populates our wilderness. Including bats. Then it can start all over!

  5. That ‘enemy of the people’ link is just InstaPundit being laughably desperate. Grasping so hard at straws.

  6. Watching SK North and Far North numbers climb. FN numbers have more than doubled in five days since April 18. No cities up there. What gives?

    1. The Birds…
The avian wing of the forth horseman are arriving as expected, all over the North..
Now some slight sarcasm, but these viruses do the species to species jump far more than we seem to acknowledge.

    2. Smaller, crowded houses with 8 or 10 other people, no distancing, no snitches telling on you, the four RCMP members in town don’t want to tick off anybody with $500 tickets because everybody knows where they live, everybody works at either the band office building or the food store. I’m surprised the northern numbers aren’t a lot worse.

  7. The nytimes just can’t go for one article without mentioning “class divides” and “climate change” can they?
