Oh, Shiny Prime Minister

Update (lance): Quote of the morning from John Gormley replying to a listener after Goodale made a complete fool of himself: “Don’t be ashamed of being a Canadian, be ashamed of what some Canadians have done.”
Yes, I am ashamed of the Liberals. Shame on you Goodale. Shame on you Trudeau. Shame on you for colluding with a terrorist to circumvent justice for Tabitha Speers. Shame.

  1. I’ve reached the point where I despise this country. We can’t get our injured veterans a proper pension, but we’ll give a scumbag traitor, a critter who fought for the enemy that disabled thousands of our troops 10.5 million bucks. F**k Canada. I can’t believe I served this putrid nation for 32 years.

  2. Nice to see the Grope and Fail siding with the murderer:
    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/editorials/globe-editorial-omar-khadr-canada-and-the-fragile-rule-of-law/article35549983/
So just to confirm, this now means that Canada is offering a $10 million bounty for US heads, correct? Just any heads? Or does it have to be US soldiers?
Does one need to be captured by US authorities nd serve time in the US or elsewhere before cashing in?
I think I’ll write my MP and ask.

  3. I think I’ll write my MP and ask.
I don’t think I’ll contact mine. She’s NDP and, for all I know, may think that poor little Omar got short-changed.

  4. Scumbags is an enormous understatement. There are so many adjectives to describe the government’s actions in this whole sordid affair. Disgraceful, mind-boggling, underhanded, astonishing, arrogant, immoral …. the list goes on and on.
There just has to be more to this story than meets the eye. How does one explain the silence of the Opposition over what has taken place? Scheer probably doesn’t have the intestinal fortitude to speak up but Mulcair, although his politics are unpalatable, has never been afraid to speak his mind especially regarding Trudeau’s behavior.
I know we’re all waiting for Ralph Goodale to provide a plausible explanation. You know, the lone Saskatchewan Liberal who dutifully refrains from saying shit even if he has a mouthful of it.

  5. Holy hell is right.
I was already in disbelief when I read they were paying him out to begin with, and now this.
The Liberals are absolutely disgusting, and I am growing sick and tired of charter worshipers. It is increasingly apparent that the only purpose of the charter is to get every scumbag, criminal, drug dealer, and in this case terrorist, off the hook.
We can thank Justin’s asshole father for all of this charter BS. No wonder Justin loves it too.

  6. I am ashamed of having a government that pays terrorists to kill people.
Justin douchebag and his Liberal douchebags are not my government

  7. Even though I am not usually one to protest, I am so angered by this I want to do something to express my utter disgust. Does anyone know of any events going on in Saskatoon or Regina? A large mob of protestors assembled outside of Ralph Goodales residence would likely get his attention.

  8. If I were President Trump, I would come down so hard on the Liberal government their teeth would rattle for months. What is it about the Liberal Party of Canada that they have such an affinity for the Khadr family going right back to Chretien personally intervening in Pakistan to have Khadr’s terrorist father released from a Pakistani jail so he could continue with his terrorist ways? I would think that the US intelligence agencies should be looking into those connections.

  9. That’s right Bob Fife… only the “knuckle-draggers” oppose this obscenity…
    ———————————————–
Although editorials across the country have generally favoured the government’s decision, the Conservatives have denounced the settlement…

  10. Just to be clear. They paid it out so they could avoid a transparent court process, which the government should be fine with. Why they would collude to ensure he got his money is beyond me. The payment and the godawful apology would have absolved them of anything.
He definitely had his rights violated by Chretien/Martin admin. That’s what created the potential liability.
Hiding that and protecting the bureaucracy was/is the motive. They really do not want an open court examination.
The slipperiness of all of this just makes them look worse. They are counting on it going away.

  11. There were 57 Canadian soldiers killed and over 150 wounded by roadside bombs and it was proven that Khadr was a bomb maker why was this not investigated if any of his bombs were involved? Also he should have been charged with treason!

  12. From the article…. the liberals are concerned about the public backlash…
Because all they care about is the optics, and they thought this would play well to the CBC crowd.
They could not care a rodent’s rear about actually DOING the right thing…. only about perception, image, and optics.
I am ashamed of my once great country.
I am also relieved that the 150 thing fell flat. A few young people got excited about…what?? If we no longer stand for anything, if we have no culture, history, or work ethic worth celebrating, what is left? Among my generation, the Big Day passed with nary a whimper.
    Much like our country.

  13. If CSIS collaborated I would assume Ralphie would know.
He was a minister of the government ot the time.
These things are subject to karma.
They knew it was wrong but because there is no middle ground on this issue they sided with the enablers of jihadi’s.
The G20 meet up should be awkward.

  14. This is a huge slap in the face to the tax paying law abiding Canadians, both military and public. First he is using borrowed money. Second by doing it surreptitiously and speedily the court process is being subverted and the Americans told they are not considered human. Third this is encouragement for every jihadi to rush to Canada as a refugee find an ambulance chasing lawyer and sue the government. Fourth the money will already be in Pakistan and out of reach.
I hope the aggrieved sue the Canadian government as I will gladly see them payed so Trudeau’s Liberals can wear it at the next election. Maybe the Kadrs will be removed from the welfare roll and return to Pakistan. Good riddance.

  15. My contempt for the libranos leaves me momentarily speechless. I don’t recall another issue in my lifetime that has so affected me. This is an outrage.
I am glad that it is the liberals who wear this. They are completely out of step with the sensibility of the country.

  16. I voiced my concern and embarrassment over this sordid affair earlier so there is no reason to regurgitate it here. However I would like to voice my concern over the Liberal voters in this country who are too brain-dead to see the injustice that our SCOC has set as a precedent in this case. Since the Khadr family has been on record since the 90’s as terrorist sympathizers the SCOC judges must have been aware of this fact. That being the case it would appear that the SCOC judges by their decision have opened the door countless lawsuits. If a Canadian in another country can take up arms against that countries government and against a UN sanctioned force that is working in conjunction with that government and said Canadian is then rewarded because his perceived rights were violated then what is to stop a Canadian from suing his own government when his rights are already in violation. I have a God given right to self protection and preservation, and to that end the Canadian government has violated that right by restricting my ability to protect myself. This, by the SCOC’s ruling in this case, is a violation of the my Charter rights. Therefore I want to sue the government of Canada for pain, suffering and stress that has caused me unlimited sleepless nights of anguish and worry because I am unable to protect myself from the terrorists that the government has allowed into this country. If the government has rewarded a terrorist and an insurrectionist by this SCOC ruling then it has failed in its primary function to protect its law-abiding citizens and at the same time has restricted these citizens from protecting themselves it would appear that that government no longer has the right to govern and these judges no longer have the right to adjudicate the law. That is the sad state of affairs that we have come to in Canada.

  17. Ralph Goodale just finished a news conference where he had the gall to lay blame on PM Harper’s government! Even though the CSIS interviews, which so bothered Supreme justices happened in 2003, some how conservatives are to blame. From the springing of Khadr Sr in 1995, to his interviews in GT, all officials were working under Liberal administrations.
What is impossible to stomach is that just now CBC has Rosie Barton fawning over Canada’s newest millionaire. And some reports point out the 10.5 M comes tax free, is it possible for this to look any worse?
And Jr is able to hide behind the Supremes and the hapless Goodale, while he preens and struts his stuff in Germany.

  18. This is treason to me plain and simple. Echoing many of the sentiments here, I am disgusted to call myself a Canadian this morning. I have never been very vocal but this is beyond the pale. Disgusting is not even close to how I am feeling. Treason. I hope Trump holds their feet to the fire and comes up with some punitive action for this. Our “leader” is a f*&*%inf scumbag idiot. I hate to say it but he is no longer my Prime Minister.

  19. karma will deal with this. she is a very patient and truly cold blooded killer. she will prevail. watch out ye who offend HER.

  20. It’s not the whole country. It’s the Liberals and the stooges that voted for them. Too many people in Canada are easily duped. If the media harps on some issue (like Duffy or Bev Oda’s orange juice — which suddenly looks shockingly cheap!) people just do not question the legitimacy of the claim. Liberals and the controlled media know this. The only place to get a straight story these days is from Rebel media. Harper had his faults, but he was a leader with integrity. He had no patience for the media because they were constantly trying to trip him up. His missteps pale in comparison to Liberal entrenched corruption. The Liberals have sold out to the Muslim Brotherhood and the globalists.

  21. Perhaps Rebel can get the word out re protests. If there is a protest on Parliament Hill, I’ll be there.

  22. Never have so few said so little with a million words or less.
Goodale and Raybolt couldn’t crawl further on their bellies.
I really hope that Mrs. Speer and Layne Morris take every dime. I pray that they do.
Does this mean that Goodale will shill for Lim Hyeon-Soo or does his imprisonment in China’s vassal state prevent that?

  23. Khadr and his family were trying to kill Canadians after 9/11.
Khadr built IEDs with the intention of killing Canadians.
Upon being welcomed back to Canada, he didn’t reflect, apologize or seek a life that atoned for his crimes.
No, he sued the Canadians he had been trying to kill.
    And we paid.

  24. Yesterday I (and others) tried several times to post the link to the Canada Taxpayers Federation petition to Trudeau over his Jihadi payout & Global kept deleting the posts. I wonder why?

  25. That is among the slimiest of things I have ever seen. Colluding with a murderer to screw a widow. You win the prize Trudeau. That is unforgivable.

  26. Khadr’s comments after taking our cash and the apology of one third of the nation were sickening and further proof that we have been had.
This is not just rhetoric coming from me … the act is clearly and self-evidently treason, aiding and abetting a proven and confessed terrorist. The “warfare” aspects of this were always murky, but whoever we were all fighting in Afghanistan, we could reasonably expect that it would not include Canadian citizens.
The only legitimate outcome from here on would be to recover the money paid, and to try the prime minister and anyone else who collaborated in this for treason.
I don’t expect anyone with any power to try to bring this about, but this is what should happen.
I’ve learned however that what should happen is almost predictably what will not happen in Kanuckistan.

  27. And let’s be clear, this is NOT the rule of law, it’s the drool of lawyers, various Liberal turds floating around on the surface of public opinion, and very much one of a kind with Omar Khadr.
The rule of law would have seen the Khadrs deported to Pakistan in the first instance.
Ralph Goodale and the rest of the apologists can go to hell, they are in no position to lecture anybody. That party knows nothing about the rule of law, they just do what they can get away with, always have, always will. Canadians are mega-stupid to support that party but the problem is, everyone knows the other parties are no better and so might as well go with the guys with the biggest flags.
CBC is also a disgrace trying to cheerlead for this odious decision, where’s the full and frank discussion we as taxpayers have paid for, from our so-called national broadcaster? The CBC is just the public relations division of the Liberal Party, make registered Liberals pay the full shot for the operation.
As for Justin, he should stay over in Hamburg and become Angela Merkel’s pool boy, a role he is so suited to play.

  28. To paraphrase one of Alan Dershowitz’ books, the main reason there is so much Islamic terrorism in the world has nothing to do with radicalization or anti-colonial backlash or any of the other usual pathetic excuses trotted out by the left. No, the main reason there’s so much Islamic terrorism is that it pays very well indeed. Whether it’s the useless EZ leaders paying billions in Danegeld to the PLO, or this latest outrage with the Khadr spawn, the outcome will only be more of the same.

  29. The families of the soldiers killed and injured by roadside bombs that might have been built by this slime bucket should mount a class action law suit against him and our government.

  30. It’s so true it bears repeating:
Good time to start that campaign to get the symbol of Canada changed from the beaver to the mouse.
    EEEEEK and Hide.
    It’s the Canadian Way!
And for you funsters declaring your shame and disgust, Oh Please. Write a sternly worded letter.
No shame or embarrassment exists in Canada.
Canadians are that most wretched of beasts.
Born on third base and think they hit a homerun.
    Freeloaders of the first order.
    Stupidity the National Trait.

  31. In some ways, this pay out ties the hands of any security interrogators and impedes our ability to work with other countries in combating terrorism. The terrorists surely will know this. I suspect those influencing the decision had that in mind.

  32. Right now my son is watching Rosemary Barton conducta “poor little Omar” interview with the sonofabitch, and he of course has been well coached and is giving all the right answers.
At NO time so far,has Barton asked him about Islam, whether he supports Shria law as the law of Canada, or asked for an apology to any Canadian soldiers wounded or killed by his handiwork.
Just the usual CBC propaganda fluff,on for almost 15 minutes now.

  33. Oh baloney! Harper did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to upset the applecart.
Ergo, he was bought, sold , intimidated, uninterested……..whatever, he did nothing.
Which is actually worse than the Liberal lies, sentient people expect those.
    Harper, at best, big nothingburger!
And I predict that Scheer will be one of the nicest PM’s we never had.
Sixty years of being an involved Conservative in Canada has taught me this:
    1. Canadian Conservatives are definitely the type that Trump likes to grab.
    2. The difference between the Liberal Party and the Conservative Party is…….there is no difference
    3. The Conservative Party really, really likes to lose
    4. Riot? Whining is more the Conservative way(see above)
    5. Canada will be testicle free by 2050

  34. Canada is now officially and publicly a safe haven for terrorists. They can get injured on the battlefield and have the Canadian medical system look after them…..then they can return to the battlefield. And when they come back, they can sue for something or other. I really hope that the Trump administration comes down on the Canadian government like a ton of bricks.

  35. Wasn’t it chretien who got omar’s father released from Pakistan only to kill again?

  36. Rex Murphy has provided enough detail for the Reader to understand the TRUE nature of the Boy Who Would Be-king;—- Murphy summarizes this in the third paragraph below Premier Wall of Saskatchewan Picture.
Was Just in this Callow & Crass when the Liberal Party 5-C’s selected him as their Puppet or is the referenced paragraph an evolutionary result of a less discerning and obviously less intelligent individual placed into a place or situation beyond capabilities.
We all recognize the many activities devised by Mr. Gerald Butts to keep Justin away from Ottawa. The ‘happenstance” pictures of weddings -barbecues – random walks through small cities lokking for :selfie: opportunities–etc. etc.
However whatever and whether there will be kickbacks to the Liberal Party such as in Adscam or the ongoing tax-payer funding of the Liberal Party will probably never be known.
The Laurentien Elite/Academic/Smearedia publications will be jerking Mr. Fife’s chain as they have in the past. The real truth was slipped under the Ottawa-Montreal-Toronto sludge which always deepens when the Liberal Party crony crowd get close to the Tax-payer Fund Faucet.

  37. That is the crux of the matter; they inhabit a universe without shame. Shame does not exist for them, outside of it being used as a club to beat sane people with.

  38. This payout is very bad optics for the Liberals and they know it. I am beginning to think there is some collusion going on with a Muslim group. I wonder if the Liberals are being blackmailed. The secrecy around this payout and failing to respect the court process is shocking.

  39. The simple truth is….. there is no one but us to hold the Libs accountable for these immoral actions. The leftist media and the now hilariously named “opposition” seem happy to just shrug their shoulders. Talk to your friends, family and neighbors, don’t let our complicit media bury this travesty of justice and morality.
Justin Trudeau is NOT MY prime minister.

  40. They certainly should not be re-electing him. He is finished. He can thank Omar.

  41. Time to restart the old 1990’s NFA campaign to mail lots if stuff to the HOC postage free. For the moronic globalist puppet, sheep or cow brains (for those that have them lying around) wpuld be a goid start. After all, there’s considerably more intelligence in the animal brains than exists in the selfie taker in chiefs cranium.
Finely ground carbon black is another good choice as padding for a Koran protected with pig fat.

  42. To add insult to the disgrace of the whole sorry fiasco we have Khadr’s lawyer calling those of us who are against Khadr receiving the millions and an apology “bigots”…so know now those of you here, myself included are bigots.
Ralph Goodale has proven once again he is well past his best before, if there ever was a best before. I’m guessing he will not run again if he gets backlash from his constituents.

  43. Sooooo…does this mean I no longer have to pay federal taxes? After all, is it not a crime to give money to entities that support terrorism?

  44. I was going to comment on this, but Lance will dredge up the QR&Os again so I’d better not.

  45. A former co-worker lost a son in Afghanistan, someday I hope to spit in the eye of Trudeau.
That is all the respect he deserves.

  46. There should be 20 or 30 Liberal MPs with enough distaste for this business to cross the floor or at least abstain.
Then I have to ask, what is the NDP stand on this matter? I have not heard anything although I could guess.
Anyway, the next thing on the agenda is our next G-G … that had better not be some Liberal media apologist or the lid will surely blow off.

  47. Be sure the next GG will be someone the Liberals and Justin want to reward. I’m certain they already have made that choice. We could have a guessing contest. Should we lead off with someone from the CBC…Mansbridge comes to mind, he is retiring I think.
