Oh, Shiny Prime Minister

Update (lance): Quote of the morning from John Gormley replying to a listener after Goodale made a complete fool of himself: “Don’t be ashamed of being a Canadian, be ashamed of what some Canadians have done.”
Yes, I am ashamed of the Liberals. Shame on you Goodale. Shame on you Trudeau. Shame on you for colluding with a terrorist to circumvent justice for Tabitha Speers. Shame.

  1. The new Liberal mantra, “Pontificating, Platitudes and Payouts” that should get them a lot of votes in the next election. Since the last election I have quietly been trying to point out to my low information liberal friends how they have been duped for most of their lives by the Liberal party. Imagine my surprise when I began receiving acknowledgements on Wednesday night that perhaps, just perhaps I was right. Even this miscarriage of justice hasn’t completely convinced them that they have been had! That is the sad state of affairs in Canada today. We have a population that is so completely braindead that they will forget about this in the next two years and vote for these idiots again. As I said the other night in a previous post I am ashamed of what this country has become and I blame all the Liberal and NDP voters that were conned by the media for having removed the Harper government from power to install these …… I’m at a loss for words, there is not a word in the English language that describes the entities that now govern this country.

  2. As others on this forum have speculated, it will be Peter Mansbridge. How’s that for salt in your wounds?

That’s assuming they even know about this in the first place. Earlier this afternoon, I chatted with one of my neighbours on my floor and I mentioned the name “Omar Khadr”. His reaction was: “Who?”
So there you have it: an electorate that’s ill-informed at best, uninformed at worst. The excuse I most often hear is “I don’t concern myself with politics.” I seldom paid attention to the subject in the past myself, but, thanks to Justin “Merkel” Trudeau, I have as the future of our country is now at stake.
Maybe those people should start practicing bowing to Mecca as that’s what many (post-national) Canadians will be forced to do within 10 years.

  4. Hey no worries, Canaduh is now just the ass wipe of the world for every terrorist thug on the planet.
Just shut up, pay your taxes and DIE!

  5. I agree with the class action lawsuit from US soldiers……but named in such a suit should not just be the government, but the Liberal Party of Canada AND Jean Chretien, PERSONALLY, as it was HE would intervened to get Khadr’s terrorist old man out of the Pakistani prison.

  6. If Khadr’s rights were breached — which I doubt** — they were breached by officials of the government in power at the time, i.e. the Liberals. Therefore, the money should come out of the Liberal party’s coffers, not from the general kitty.
** “Charter Protections End at Canadian border: top court”
“Canadians accused of crimes abroad are not protected by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms when they’re being investigated by Canadian or foreign police, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled Thursday.

“When individuals choose to engage in criminal activities that cross Canada’s territorial limits, they can have no guarantee that they carry charter rights with them out of the country,” wrote Justice Louis LeBel.”

So how were Khadr’s rights breached if those Charter protections were not enforceable on foreign territory?
Wasn’t the SC inconsistent re: application of Charter rights outside of Canadian borders?

  7. I don’t think they are even voting on this. It is all being done behind closed doors.

  8. Even though I clicked repeatedIy on “next” I cannot advance to the next page to read the remaining 8 comments after the first 50. Anyone else having the same problem? Solutions?

  9. “if he gets backlash from his constituents.”
Goodale’s constituents have demonstrated their collective stupidity simply by voting for the useless waste of oxygen. I really don’t foresee much of a backlash. Besides, even a massive outcry wouldn’t result in Goodale deciding not to run again. The man has, on countless occaisions, displayed a distinct lack of character and integrity while maintaining a front row seat at the public trough.

  10. Stephen Harper
The government today attempted to lay blame elsewhere for their decision to conclude a secret deal with Omar Khadr. The decision to enter into this deal is theirs, and theirs alone, and it is simply wrong. Canadians deserve better than this. Today my thoughts are with Tabitha Speer and the families of all Canadian and allied soldiers who paid the ultimate price fighting to protect us.

  11. John Ivison, National Post, July 7, 2017 on Khadr 10.5 million payout “..He has been a political pawn for much of the past 15 years but on this occasion, he walked into the spotlight.” More likely pushed into the spot light by a legal team hell bent on a 50% or better contingency. No wonder the payout is so rich. All aided and abetted by a pliant, sunny ways, spineless government and it’s Butts Sock Puppet Prime Minister.

  12. Over here in Germany Trudeau is a real media darling. He’s being celebrated. What a bunch of empty idiots.

  13. Hi US vet here Pres. OBOZO is as Guilty as your pm and scoc you people fix yours we will fix ours

  14. I have just read the CTV report on Omar Khadr ……. and the payout to him of $10.5 million, Canadian taxpayers money. That absolutely sickens me!!!! Has everybody forgotten about the video taping of captured American soldiers or their allies being dragged behind vehicles in the Middle East? …….. dragged around on parade in front of the general public until their skin was torn from their lifeless bodies. Has everybody forgotten about the Islamic ceremonial beheadings …… what is wrong with Canada?
Dad was in a Japanese prison camp the entire WW2 in Japan. He was captured on Kiribati spying on the Japs in the middle of the Pacific three days after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour.
A Japanese prison camp must have been “sheer luxury” in comparison to Guantanamo Bay!! Of course the Japanese and Korean prison guards never injured, tortured, starved, kicked, beaten, bayoneted or killed any prisoners …….
Seventeen of Dad’s coastwatcher friends were all lined up together and beheaded, one after the other, while they were made to kneel on a floor of a disused hospital.
Holy shit Canada, what a slap in the face for all of the Returned Servicemen who were captured by the invading forces of WW2. Absolutely disgusting! No wonder the American’s are very upset with Canada; can you blame them?
This payout is an act by the Canadian Government that no Canadian could possibly be proud of!!
