  1. So the Feds will no longer accept taxes contributed from Saskatchewan for their programs bribing eastern Canadians to vote for increased government dependency?

  2. I think Brad got this backward. Ottawa to “reward” provinces with more equalization payments for embracing climate change. This is the excuse Ottawa needs to keep the funds flowing from Alberta to Quebec.

  3. I agree 100%. Alberta’s starting year 3 of a hugely hurtful commodity price downturn. The equalization calculation should be putting Alberta into “have-not” status…that is unless the Feds can work in a ‘fix’ before the consequences of the updated calcs come into effect. Notley will go with anything JT says now ’cause her goose is cooked regardless and will need a nice soft landing job after the Premiership goes poof in 2019. Thanks for nothing Prentice!

  4. Can we use the notwithstanding clause for this too?
How about we opt out of Canada for 5 years while we work on making it permanent.

  5. It wasn’t just Prentice. If Redford had been convicted as a result of the investigation into her conduct, we might still have the PCs in power, though, possibly, as a minority government.
But, yeah, Alberta’s going to be made to suffer just we did during the early 1980s when Sire of Shiny Potato was in charge.

  6. I would LOVE for them to do this.
Their motives – anti-west – would be all too clear and the response by the three most western provinces would be obvious: at the very least they would take over tax collection and then withhold sending the federal portion until concessions were made.
And of course it would be political nuclear winter for the LPC in those three provinces.

  7. I think the republic of britishalskatchitoba and the new western territories (yukon, iqalouit and nunavut)

  8. ENVIRONMENTAL ALERT:
    Hostile Political Climate Change,
Storm Clouds approaching from the Eastern Horizon,
Take Defensive Measures: Protect Economy, Property, Prov. Constitution, Family,
    Co-operative Federalism endangered!
Aw,heck, we’ve not seen this since 1881 Saskatchewan: Coulter Wall reminds us:

(When he sings Mr. Toronto man, think Ottawa)

  9. Of course, we could stop all of this by stopping equalisation payments.
But that would just be nutty.
However, this does show the propensity for spite PM Hair-Boy learned from his worthless Nazi-supporting dad.

  10. Yes, it wasn’t just Prentice. NO, the PCs wouldn’t be in power. Except for Prentice and his evil self-serving political machinations, Wildrose would be in power. Prentice and his PC Asshole Brigade fought harder against Wildrose than they did against the NDP.
No, I and everyone that I know will NEVER vote PC again. It’s Wildrose or NDP, not PC or NDP.
Your political astuteness has missed this fact, Wildrose is the Official Alberta Opposition and the Progressives are the 3rd place party. Somehow you imagine the PCs are second choice. They are not. They went from 1st to 3rd. Ponder the meaning.
(it’s funny when I get Alberta PC Party updates and these A-holes complain about the debt that the NDP is heaping on Alberta. The Progressives were the ones WHO STARTED the Debt, paid it down under Klein and told us all to tighten our belts, then after we were debt free, went into debt again because the Progressives wanted to BUY the Alberta Public Union vote to get a lock on power and then push HardCore Leftist Social Engineering)
Some people dismiss Wildrose for being Populist. Wildrose IS populist. However, POPULIST means different things in different places.
Most places, Populist means being Left of Center. In Alberta, Populist means being CONSERVATIVE.
Learn it, understand it, incorporate that understanding into your analysis of Alberta politics.

  11. Pfffft, no surprise. West feeds East, do not object or complain. We WILL discipline you ingrates.
Feed us, clothe us, and pay homage, we are your masters. Do not object or complain.
YOU WILL Pay. Pay us, shut up, obey. Confederation evolved in 2017. Fact. So, suck it up, go to work, pay, so we can do nada, except take your cash.
Canada 2017, sucking from outlying lands for comfort of horseshoe and voting base, not to mention non working, new canadians.
We are well on road to our own ruin, sad but true. Good luck folks, you will need it.1

  12. National Energy Program 2.0.
We knew he would eventually figure out a way to stick it to the West again.

  13. Does anyone think Wall cares? Posting on Stasibook is not just worthless, but obvious virtue signalling. He’s on the other side.
If Wall actually cared, there would have been a separation referendum already. If we had a premier that cared about anything other than “50% unreliables by 2030”, Saskatchewan would already be its own sovereign state

  14. “Pfffft, no surprise. West feeds East”
Which hearkens back to the old cartoon with the cow eating in the West, being milked in Ontario and Quebec and taking a giant dump on the Maritimes. Times never seem to change.

  15. Western secession is fine as far as it goes. But within five years of that happening, 19 guys from Alberta and Saskatchewan will be flying planes into buildings in Toronto and Ottawa.
The hatred that Canadians seem to have for one another is quite remarkable.

  16. Premier Wall has his hands full fending off Trudeau The Useless and his merry band of sycophants who somehow feel that they have carte blanche to pull off any shenanigans that come to mind. At least Wall has the intestinal fortitude to stand up to the thieves in Ottawa unlike his fellow premiers who appear content to shut up, do exactly what they’re told and don’t ask questions. And for those who find it necessary to criticize Wall for such heinous activities as shutting down an unprofitable bus company, closing redundant libraries and failing to kick start western separation, please remember that if the NDP held power in this province, we would now be paying a carbon tax and be well on our way to achieving “have not” status.

  17. My thoughts exactly. Big Country. We can pee on BC lower mainland & Ontfaireeoooh from a great height. Quebec, too.
    Rip up the tracks.
