John Fund at NRO looks north to Canada and sees signs of progressive face-twitching:
The emergence of this (citizenship niqab) issue, one that has both social and security components, during campaign season is driving Canada’s Left nuts….Tony Burman, a former editor-in-chief at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, wrote in the Toronto Star this month that Harper is a bigger threat than the Islamic State because his exaggerations of the terrorist threats “distract voters” from the more pressing issue of climate change.
Progressive logic: the gift that keeps on giving.

Man-Bear-Pig !!
Ah yes this would be the Tony Burman who left CBC to go work at Al Jazeera, and is now an advisor to Al Jazeera in America.
Fear-mongering about terrorism and what about climate change?
And if Harper gets back in with a majority I can only imagine the reaction of progressives. I hope the R.C.M.P. is up to the job of protecting the prime minister.
He probably wears a nijab at home so he can sneak up on goats he has learned to love during his trip through All- Jizz.
Top CBC news today is Harper’s comment about ‘looking into’ possibly banning Niqab use for Public Sector workers.

Climate change being at the absolute bottom of every list of concerns by voters …. it’s a non issue … it’s a dead cause. We all know it’s a scam …. brave politicians are still trying to cash in, but we all know what it is … a scam to get more tax money from frightened leftist twits.
But J, they could voluntarily give their own money to their great cause…
Oh sorry, you mean those Leftwing twits, who always want to do-good, but never with their own money.
My bad.
The left live so far out on planet x that they think a story about Steven Harper musing about a niqab ban for the civil service casts him in a bad light.
I’m a big fan of john fund. He’s one of the very best out there.
Usually when a politician is pandering he’s offering goodies to a specific group for the possible exchange of their vote. A group such as say, the CBC, offered $115 or $150 million if they can demonize PM Harper enough that Mulcair or Trudeau becomes Prime Minister.
That Harper guy though, when he panders he goes all in. He panders to between 70 and 90% of the entire Canadian population, women and men, immigrant or “old stock”.
And his offer? Only the chance for some small resistance against the force creating havoc in France, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and it’s nascent elements in Canada.
To our “Betters,” 70 to 90 percent of regular Canadians are bigots. No, check that. Regular Canadians not from Quebec are bigots. Quebecers can’t be bigots. Their Liberal Government proposals were proceeding along quietly until the Federal Government said that two women must bare their faces and declare an oath at a short formal ceremony, after which they would be Canadian citizens and they could wear and look however they like.
“No, check that. Regular Canadians not from Quebec are bigots. Quebecers can’t be bigots.”
On the niqab issue, the people of Québec are even more “bigoted” than the rest of Canada.
I’m ok with the niqab on Halloween.
The niqab is merely a symbol. It is the other realities that accompany the niqab that are the real issue. Women should be treated as humans not as slaves (at the very best) or animals as they are in some regions.
This for God’s sake is Canada! It is not some backwater in some irrelevant region of “the planet”. We treat women as our equals if not our superiors. They drive cars, trucks, busses, heavy equipment, if they so choose. They work or stay at home – their choice! We do not stone them. We do not mutilate them. We do not humiliate them by covering them up. We have laws to defend them. We respect them and we love them, afterall we are all of-them.
I am coming to like the NPD/Libtard take on the face mask deal.
Niqabs for all, I too want to go masked in my interactions with the fee paying public.
Sort of like that Taliban Commander, I too can see great personal benefit to wearing a bag over my head.
Niqab, balaclava, nylon stocking.. whatever works at the time, they are all good.
Just like the Libtards stance that ones gender or race is whatever you feel it needs to be… so we Canadians, we are all Metis now.
As for the medias little darling who gets to swear allegiance to Canada, while denying canada’s values, no problem, I am sure she will be quite comfortable if every canadian who has to interact with her, choses to don a mask.
One depicting Mad bomber Moe would be my first pick.
The NDP and Libs have picked the Hill they want to die on and there is no turning back now. Justin’s comments yesterday were so pathetic, pleading for Harper to stop, “Niqab wearing women will be harmed!”. Really, they are not harmed already, he no clue, he is only worried about votes trying to look like the caring compassionate guy, instead of acting like a leader and knowing what the real issues are and what 80% of the population has finally figured out. CBCs attempt yesterday interviewing non-wearing Niqab Muslim women and having them say obvious fed lines about how the issue is stupid was just pathetic spin.
I also find it interesting how they keep using the Nano polls which have the Lib ahead while all the other polls have he CPC well ahead.
THE point everyone, particularly the CBC is missing is ignoring
is those women are showing they have no intention of respecting
Canadian culture, before they are even Canadians. They know their covering of faces is not a religious fact. They claim it is their Right. They are also saying they will be joining those who refuse to accept our Culture, albeit Christmas trees to requiring separate classrooms in Universities as the powers that be would not force the Canadian female classmates to wear “suitable” attire. ( I almost sympathized with Him, as I was distracted by the Girls attire from Grade 5 on.) However my point is we have a system where all refugees are not refused entry, even when they refuse to declare allegiance, it needs tightening up with today’s mass who would assimilate.
