As for charges, the entire justice system in this province is run by Tory hacks. They won’t go after one of their own cause it will set a precedent and once these guys get voted out, the skeletons that falling out of closets will be too numerous to count. The press hasn’t reported on 1/100th of the corruption in this province. Goes way beyond Reford. Plus, Redford knows where enough bodies are buried.
Don’t hold your breath thinking Wildrose will be much better. I went to a fundraiser in Calgary recently and it was littered with mostly ex-Tory hacks and other ambitious hangers-on ready for their turn to feed at the trough.

Certainly not a fan of Redford and glad she resigned but I find the differences between east and west even greater today. In Ontario our Premiere basically stole billions upon billions of dollars from taxpayers and she gets reelected with a big majority and in Alberta she resigns in disgrace and may have future legal issues. Funny, but I’ll take the Alberta way. If they try to hang her around Harpers neck then I guess he can counter and hang Wynne around the neck of the Liberal party. As long as that is the way it works.

Though, I confess, you do have me: I despised Premier Nanny and her gang of Red Tories. I guess if you know nothing about Alberta politics the idea that the entire Tory party is rife with corruption might come as a surprise but it shouldn’t be to anyone paying attention.
Redford and all the PC’s are CINO’s. Funny story, a union president from one Albertas union penned a letter the other day as to how they were fooled into voting for the Red Queen and the CINO’s, but by God they won’t be fooled again.
My dad used to tell me that even Ralf was a Liberal but managed to be just conservative enough to pay down debt, get out of the way of the regular Joe to be safe. When people claim that Stelmach and Redford are conservative I have to laugh. This whole party needs to be flushed, make way for the WRA. Some think they have sold out, maybe in some small ways but I for one participate and can say they are a far Site more conservative than any other.

I suggest that perhaps Redfraud is little more than narcissist who suffers from the delusion that she is best a running other peoples’ lives. She isn’t doctrinaire in her political outlook but has a nasty temper whenever she encounters opposition she flies into a rage and does her best to destroy who ever or what ever has dared to go against her wishes. She used the unions to get elected then turned around and tried to limit their negotiating power. When that didn’t have the desired effect she decided to end their negotiating power. I suspect that she and Obama are cut from the same cloth.

Similarly with BC, I don’t think Alberta has had a conservative premier since Harry Strom (Socred, as with Bill Bennett in BC – his Dad was a progressive). Lougheed was a progressive and government expansionist although he stood up to Trudeau well. Getty was over his head from the start. Klein was a liberal but an old school one with fiscal common sense and a knack for grass roots populism. Those that followed have all been Red Tories.
Thinking about it a little more, Redford strikes me as the anti-Klein. Klein was elected repeatedly from populist support from people of all walks of life, from the bar crowd to business leaders. Redford stole the office by exploiting the sloppy nominating and membership rules of the PCs and buying union votes with stolen loot. She was an elitist snob with virtually no popular support. The image that captures her essence is where she is pictured with Joe Clark and obviously enjoying his company.
There is no degree of conservative – no such thing as a red tory. We only have degrees of socialists. PC’s are the new liberals, liberals are the new NDP … NDP have always been true – communists. Even Putin isn’t stupid enough to buy the NDP ideals.
