Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

You laugh now but climate experts tell us that within a few years lake ice will become a very rare and exciting event. Children just aren’t going to know what ice is.
Subtle, Greg, subtle. LOL.
Yep. The brother-in-law in Thunderbay said today they just got another 8″ of snow.
Sadly, here on Vancouver Island the cherry blossoms are falling from the trees, kind of resembling snow.
What you need to understand is that global warming actually causes global cooling thus creating more ice on massive water bodies such as the Great Lakes and Arctic Ocean. Its science which is too complicated for the average person. There are those out there that have put a lot of work into this so we need to trust what they tell us. Its for the children
You left out the ir. It’s for their children.
I was over Superior about ten days ago. On departure there were 4 freighters heading north out of Whitefish Bay (by the Soo) in a channel cut through the ice. Two days later on descent I spotted 4 ships about 5 – 10 miles west of Whitefish Point, mired in ice with no visible channel to them. They made it about 15 or 20 miles I reckon. The winds were strong out of the west/northwest during that trip and a surprising amount of water had opened up on the northwest shore, but the majority of the lake was covered in ice pans that were healthy enough to land on.
The Soo got 3 inches of snow last night and I’m off to stand on the big solid slab of ice on Lk. Simcoe to limit out on yellow perch.
Tight Lines.
That sucker ain’t goanna melt for 10 years,
were all goanna freeze to death !!!

Obumbles has kept his promise. This is the moment when the earth starts to cool. This is the moment when the seas cease to rise
Don’t laugh. I read this same info on a huffpo thread (yeah, big mistake, I know), and some idiot poster sniffed that this was all easily explained to the idiot skeptics by “convection”.

As the evidence piles up that weather and climate are far more complicated than are dreamed of by our highly expensive models, Believers become more and more frantic. They fiddle with events, find strange fudge factors, [http://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/2014/01/19/just-hit-the-noaa-motherlode/] and make other moves to defend their grants and jobs.
I don’t claim to have a better model than theirs, or that I know of a better model: what I claim is that the models we have are not good enough to bet billions of dollars on. Until they can account for Greenland having dairy farms in Viking times [http://wattsupwiththat.com/2014/04/17/when-greenland-was-green-in-warmer-times/] as recorded in their records and legends and the vary name for Nova Scotia – Vinland – and the Roman Warm times and other such historical phenomena, all of which tend to get ignored in the Great Climate Models, we have no obligation to spend money guarding against what they predict.
Their predictions of doom by heat now are worth no more than the frantic predictions of a possible new Ice Age that prevailed in the last century. Me, I’d far rather have to move north to escape warming than have my house covered with a kilometer of ice. And the worst of that one is that from all indications Britain went from deciduous trees to meters of ice in under a century the last time the Ice advanced. http://www.jerrypournelle.com/chaosmanor/russia-the-us-and-the-future/

In the first study of its kind, scientists have compared air pollution rates from 1850 to 2000 and found that anthropogenic (man-made) particles from Asia impact the Pacific storm track that can influence weather over much of the world.
The team, which includes several researchers from Texas A&M University, has had its work published in the current issue of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

CO2 has never been the problem, it’s always been the pollution.
I was in Port Perry yesterday on lake Scugog (a medium sized shallow lake 30 km north of lake Ontario). Other than 20 to 30 feet around the shore line it was completely frozen over.
