  5. Do not be confused about the role of campus police in this incident. They are there to protect THE PROTESTERS. If Stephen Woodworth had continued on with his presentation and talked over the protesters, the cops would most likely have arrested him “for his own good”.
    In the event of a right-wing protest against a left wing speaker, Ezra is correct. Tazers, gas and truncheons.
    Time for Canadians to give up on the quaint notion that Canada is a free country. It isn’t. We just have good propaganda here so it appears free if you don’t look too closely.

    Why didn’t they intervene with a knuckle sandwich or two?
    These barbarians need to be stood up to, and all this “peace and love” nonsense just doesn’t always cut it.
    A vigilante committee made up of hockey and rugby players could attend these events and let it be known that disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. It might just do the trick.

  12. U(W) is my alma mater. I take great pride in reading off a litany of events like this every time alumni affairs calls me and asks for donations, ending with “…and that’s why I’m still not giving you any money.”

  13. Police is afraid to remove the screaming and shouting protesters simply because they are loud and they are getting heard.
    Not shouting back is a failed conservative policy.
    Bring the bullhorns and earplugs to every conservative event. Blast back. Scream a the protesters. Arrest them and remove from premises. You being effin too nice is driving us all into the grave.

  14. Progressivist civil degeneracy has fXXXed-up policing, justice and our sense of civic duty so badly that this has now permeated policing policy. Here we see this crap again – the cops oppressing the rights of the victim of a group of fanatic’s uncivil breach of peace/public mischief.
    Un-F’n-believable here we see AGAIN the cops conditioned to ignore (avoid?) confronting a fanatic group who are breaching the peace and threatening violence. The cops are helping in silencing their victim because they (unreasonably) feel HE is inciting them. Woodward did nothing but exercise his right to free expression in a forum to which he was INVITED to speak. Yet he is the one who must suffer unreasonable police demands beause police will not deal with law breakers.
    This displays the sickness in modern culture on so many levels it’s hard to know where to start – the hypocrisy of the fanatics screaming for “rights” while stifling those of others – the cops blaming the victim for the uncivil/illegal conduct of his attackers – A university becoming a place of darkness instead of enlightenment. It’s all so dystopian, that it scares me this is not obvious to the students.
    The U of W has some soul searching and some pink-slipping to do to re-establish democracy, the open exchange of ideas (diversity of thought), civility and free speech on campus. I can’t blame the fanatics for this – there are always fanatics. But, here the cops and the University policy makers are clearly at fault. I feel cheated seeing what my tax dollars have produced on the UofW campus – it’s an uncivil zombie wasteland where reason, intellect and civil duty no longer exist.
    On that note here is a Liberal I find common ground with, speaking to the zombie apocalypse the public education system has produced.

    A nation’s civility and greatness comes from the intellectual and moral make-up of its people – government it just a reflection of that – corrupt government- corrupt society. Back in my university days, if some lunatic wearing a vulva costume would have come at me, he would have recieved a couple of quick punches to the head and a boot to the area where one would assume male genitalia are located. Most likely I would have had assistance in this matter from other students.
    Why did none of the non-protesting students intervene? Moonbats are generally cowards which is why they always travel in groups. A few good beatings would quickly change their approach to interfering with the free exchange of ideas.

  18. My dad took engineering in the early 70’s at the university I now attend. He told me about a time where a whole class had shouted down a student who had been attending a pro-communist rally as he walked into a lecture hall. Times have changed.

    Yes, the speaker was a liberal, but it is only detectable in a few short phrases. This fellow is a classical liberal who still believes in freedom and not in Marxism.

  23. Ken_ The guy is Jeff Daniels an actor and a Dem activist. Yes he is a Kennedy Dem or a Goldwater Republican (same thing) and you are right – true liberals champion freedom and ethical government not collectivist statism and compromise politics.
