MacSween said the region has also seen a 92 per cent increase in shootings, with a total of 46 in the region since January.
“Almost all of the guns being used in these crimes are illegal handguns, many of which are being smuggled across the border from the U.S.,” MacSween said. “The surge in gun violence can be attributed to organized crime rings who are obtaining and using illegal handguns to commit a number of offences.”

Police have made 90 arrests across the carnival, including for possession of an offensive weapon, assaults on an emergency worker and possession with intent to supply drugs. Arrests have also been made for assault, theft, sexual offences, possession of drugs and robbery. Fifteen officers have also been assaulted, the force said.
The carnival is Europe’s biggest street party and is billed by organisers as “the greatest community-led event on the planet”.
Mike Neville, a retired Scotland Yard detective chief inspector, alleged that officers are hesitant to make arrests for fear of being called racist.

York Regional Police say Shubham Sahota was arrested in June as part of a child luring investigation, and released under conditions he reside with his surety in Vaughan.
Sahota hasn’t been seen since July 20, and police are concerned.

You cannot lift prints from a can of any type of spray or vape machine or skateboard.

…then when I told them that the car had no plates on it and that if the thieves were going to use my plates on another vehicle I wanted them to know. I was told to just go on the saskatoonpolice website and put in my file number and add that information.
I would have thought while I was speaking with them on the phone while they had my file opened they could add it in.
