Matt Christiansen shares more light on the Oberlin College hoax hate case:
The pathetic cowards who run Oberlin College have locked down their Facebook page. They clearly have done some egregiously wrong. They’ve put an innocent family through hell for the past 6 years. Is there any … ANY contrition on their part? Apparently not.
Update: Interesting comment from ‘Batcracker’:
Spouse and I were on a trip out that way and made a point of stopping at the Bakery for lunch. The college is located in a ramshackle small town that quickly peters out to poor small farms. It’s the kind of community that looks like it’s use to hanging on by its fingernails. Houses with flaking 50 year old lead paint and a kind of scoured hopelessness. The bakery is in the same flavor. It is not an upscale building. It’s a tight, narrow maze with narrow isles of floor to ceiling packed goods. In short you can see their margin is thin and they can’t absorb 5 finger discounting and stay afloat. They could not afford to turn a blind eye. Oberlin is clearly well funded. It flows into the town like kudzu. The students are NYC fashionistas. They are a world apart from the locals in attitude yet there is one more thing that fuels them. Oberlin has been described as where you go if you are from The City and can’t get into a real Ivy League college. Then you sit in “the middle of nowhere, where nothing ever happens” while your friends in the real ivy league are experiencing excitement and world changing important woke struggle – at least in your imagination they are. How do you find any thing that needs your social justice in the middle of corn fields? The “opportunity” this fake racism provided was both for the self esteem of the students and recruiting for the school.
