Lori Lightfoot was a terrible mayor of Chicago. Historians will likely note that mayor-elect Brandon Johnson is even worse.

Chicago Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson — another cut from the same cloth — had this to say about the downtown riot: “In no way do I condone the destructive activity we saw in the Loop and lakefront this weekend. It is unacceptable and has no place in our city.
“However, it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities.”
Not once did he mention law and order or reveal the punishment for this behavior in the future.
Not once did he show us he would be a tough-on-crime mayor in a city that so desperately needs it.
Two more teens were shot, and the incoming mayor excuses violence.
His implication? These kids didn’t have a choice. They’re victims of their environment.
Here’s the warm welcome a visiting couple received in Chicago.
“It’s not their fault – they were underprivileged, they weren’t born with silver spoons”. Leftist nonsense – everyone has free will and can choose and fight for a better path. They can move, they can choose, they can aspire to better things, but these youths did not. They are at fault and deserve the punishment that should have come their way.
So if Democrat/liberal/communists have been in control of the Chicago mayor’s office/bureaucracy/education system for the entirety of the lifetime of these youths then whom is responsibility of the ‘opportunity’?

Treating people like children and fostering dependency has such a productive history. The Indian industry in Canada tries to fix the problem but make each generation of Indian more dependant on the public teat, not less. Teaching ghetto kids that they are economically useless only because white people are prejudice makes them believe that the solution is fighting back instead of getting off their asses and getting an education. Lack of functional literacy is a deal breaker for decent employment. The reality is black Americans are actually wealthier than Canadians and most Europeans.

Sadly only a small proportion of citizens and politicians are elected by a small fraction of the population thanks to apathy.

Compare and contract to the stories about the ‘Black Teen Shot by White Man for Ringing his Doorbell’ narrative, and all the racial elements within.
A sad commentary on human nature, but….people don’t need reasons to do evil. They just need permission.
And thanks to modern policing, made blatantly obvious to all for the past 8 years, any individual who can pretend to themselves that they are have the coveted “victim” label now has permission to do whatever they want.
And feel totally righteous in doing it.

Seems surprising that in spite of the criminality of the ruling class, the mob and other such destructive forces, it has become one of the rather great cities of North America.
As it appears today, it is in serious moral decline. It is also fascinating that the city is functioning in spite of the politicians doing their mostest best to destroy it.
Maybe there should be more information on how the people living in Chicago get around in everyday life.
