So sayeth (705) BLUE. Apparently, the Liberals are furious that he opened his mouth to verify some of the most damaging portions of the Grewal tape – and that’s just the latest. He’s about to “to get lost in the shuffle” when new cabinet appointments swing around.
(Via a reader who spotted it at Jack’s Newswatch who’s got his finger on a number of interesting items.)

Good riddance Joe, but what’s even more scary is that Ruby Dhalla and/or Mark Holland might be appointed to cabinet. Perhaps Halloween might come early this year.
And people still wonder why more Liberals don’t blow the whistle? Joe is off to political purgatory.
Amen to that Howie.
A Politician fired for telling the truth!!!!
Only in Canada you say. Pity.
Okay, so when is this next cabinet shuffle supposed to take place?
Will Belinda still be Minister of Complex Files?
Will UD still be health minister?
Is it time to bring Hedy Fry back?
Are crosses still being burned as we speak?
If there is no shuffle before summer the point is mute.
Perhaps Judy Sgro will be back in cabinet, I’m still waiting for her to apologize to Stephen Harper over her theatrics in last year’s campaign.
Caroline Parrish should be a shoo-in for a cabinet post…..
I hate that bastard Parrish, but I’d have to agree with you Jake, Martin needs all the votes he can get and probably has forgotten all the things she said about him.
David Davis, UK Conservative shadow home secretary (and likely leadership contender) has an opinion piece in today’s Sunday Telegraph that also has considerable relevance to Canadian Conservatives:
“What is it we Tories can do for Britain?”
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/opini…/ ixopinion.html
Some key points:
“…The Conservative Party pioneered the approach of low taxes and free markets that has put this country at the head of Europe’s economic league. To waver in our convictions or question our purpose in these respects would be to turn our backs on the future and to betray the nation’s trust.
Modern Conservatism should embrace both approaches, where the party retains its integral values – a belief in the nation state, liberty and personal responsibility; a suspicion of big government – but focuses on helping people of every condition to break free of dependence, indignity and poverty…
Too many people feel trapped in situations beyond their control with little chance of escape: parents, when they are unable to get their children into a good school; patients, when they have to endure the nightmare of waiting for hospital treatment; pensioners, trapped in their homes for fear of crime and disorder; decent people, dependent on means-tested benefits and discouraged from working and saving…
…But most people have almost no control over vital areas of their lives – security in their neighbourhood, their own health, their children’s education.
So much of today’s political debate is utterly meaningless to people in this situation. The Government still talks as though millions of pounds more here, or extra government intervention there, will solve the nation’s problems. It obviously hasn’t. The cost to the taxpayer grows. The yield for the patient, the pupil and the citizen shrinks. We shouldn’t be surprised. That’s the result of state monopolies…
…People know better than politicians how to improve their own lives, if only they have the chance. We can give them that chance by reclaiming power from central government and placing it back in the hands of individuals and communities. That means allowing people to keep more of what they earn to save and spend as they see fit. A free economy underpins the free society, because it recognises that people not governments create wealth, and because it empowers individuals to say “no” to the busybodies and bureaucrats who think they know best…
…If Switzerland can guarantee the best healthcare for the least well off – with a radically decentralised system and a rich mix of private and public provision – why can’t we?”
And why cannot Canadians even discuss rationally the last point?

Joe Volpe won’t be going anywhere soon- he has some votes to buy, first, ( from people who sneaked into this country and are now working here illegally.) Wanna bet which country most of them come from? Any takers?
Here’s an interesting blog on this subject:
http://www.civitatensis.ca/archives/2005/06/05/and-dont-forget-joe-volpe-mr-shapiro/
If Joe gets put out to pasture, I guess that makes him a Volpe in sheep’s clothing.
Well I never!
After all that, Joey the Fox Volte is going to be “disappeared”.
Joey detects this slight change in the air; ears alert, snout lifting…
Ohhhhh….Kate! I can not express deeply enough how grateful I am for making the legs of the story with female beach vollyball legs even stronger. This whole foul drama started with Inky’s accusation of Volpe’s poaching attempt. That the reporters laughed WITH J.V when he “wanted someone ‘higher’ in the gene pool” says as much about the corruption in our “msm” as the fact they didn’t seem to take Inky at face value at all. I guess a politician like Inky ISN’T high enough for members of “our” esteemed journalism industry. Ohhhhh, how the sweet revolution is about to come full circle right about now. How many times do you think c.b.c propaganda agents have updated their resumes in the last month? Canadians have been fed one side for so long we are all about ready to puke.
Jake, I think Parish is more suitable for the posting of Ambassador to the United States.
HappyDaze: Lets just wait “patiently”, and see which politicans are punished/rewarded for telling the truth… and which ones are punished/rewarded for liy(brano)ing.
(gurgle gurgle gurgle, whooooofffff…cough)
Long Live Good Mr. Iron Man
kinda OT, but has anyone seen this one yet? The CPCs keep changing their site…
http://www.conservative-own.ca/cal2005.html
oops, that’s a candidate’s site – but its kinda funky!
Hmmm… ctv is sounding downright unbiased on this one: http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/1117892789101_46/?hub=QPeriod
I think Belinda will be moved because she is in a conflict of iterest as Magna, which she still owns a lot of shares in, gets money from HRDC for training etc… She’ll stay in the front benches though…I don’t think PMPM trusts her at his back.
Better scenario would be for Belinda to be voted out entirely by the voters of Newmarket-Aurora, but I know that won’t happen because if she only won by less than 700 to a Liberal, think of what her margin of victory will be running as a Liberal.
Lets not pass by what the strippers have devulged that have been sent back to their own countries, “If we didn’t whore in Kanada, our passports were revoked, and we were sent back” how much did MADAM Sgro receive per “Emplyee” that did WHORE? No Sgro’s goose is cooked, and I doubt even a Librano constituent would would be satified voting in a MADAM that demands “results” or your pasports are revoked, have the constituents also stooped that low? Maybe, the Librano Mariosa is addictive to some it seema.
As a matter of fact, what would the penalty be for a none Librano if they were proven to be living off the avails, whether it be Strippers or anyone else, but then the RCMP would not want to demeen the “good” name of a Librano.
Judy Sgro represents York West, one of the safest Liberal seats in the country (been in the Liberal column since 1962) so Judy’s going to be an MP forever unless someone knocks her off for the party nomination.
I’m sure Caroline Parrish wouldn’t be adverse to being Canadian Ambassador to the USA if she could work out of Lynchburg, Tennessee.
I’d also like to know who the new senator from BC will be. On the tapes Tim Murphy said Grewal or Nina Grewal couldn’t have the BC Senate seat because it was already promised to someone else. The Liberals didn’t want the public to know right now for “appearances” who will be getting it.
I wonder if it’s Cadman?
Anyone have a line on who the new senator is?
Now, THAT’s and interesting question, 705. I wonder…
I also heard it was Gulzar Cheema.
