Ever wonder where Globe and Mail readers get crazy ideas about Alberta and pipelines?
No matter how much you hate the media, remember they’ll always hate you more.

Yet the transfer payments are happily accepted.
Brothers, Sisters, Comrades! I urge you to contribute to the campaign for a Free Alberta. I will be directing my donations to Keith Wilson’s campaign.
Over 300,000 signed a petition for their voice to be heard. Many were unable to because of their address issues (box numbers) Many were afraid to sign (so much for “Strong and Free”) If every person that signed that petition gave $50, that’s 15,000,000.
$50 is such a small price when considering the benefits we will receive by living in a free and prosperous nation!!!
Equalization payments. Make the distinction. All provinces get “transfer payments” (which is just an indication that the feds overtax and then dole out to provinces). But equalization payments are a far more important issue. Did you know that since the start of the equalization program in the 1950’s, that Quebec has received over 50% of ALL payments ever made and it has received them every year. By comparison, Alberta has received a total of .02% with the last payment made in fiscal 1964/65.
Yes, an important distinction. Your post is also an important reminder of the entrenched larceny that is Soviet Canuckistan.
I would add that tax revenues from Oil and Gas (normally profitable endeavors) are transferred to the various propaganda arms of the liarberal party of Soviet Canuckistan. If they don’t like Alberta’s “dirty” oil, then put your money where your mouth is and don’t accept any of it as the subsidy they receive to publish their putrid trash.
My Danibucks are going to Keith Wilson’s campaign.
Too stupid to recognize their hypocrisy … or too dishonest to admit it.
Shitholes need Shitrags to make up Shitstorms for Shit-for-brain readers.
As they vomit out their garbage using petroleum based products.
L – That old joke that Canada is kept unified by a shared hatred of Toronto hid the cultural division behind the western Independence movement. We’re tired of being indentured slaves to the Laurentian elite.
From the whispering trees, grasses and fields “Let Freedom ring!” Responsible government is self-government. Signed, The people, who just wanted to be left alone…

I think Premier Smith is too happy keeping the gaslighting about “carbon capture” going.
Ooz
“I think”
Hahahaha, now that bee phunny rite there!
GYM, the SDA halfwit version of René Descartes.
I don’t know. Polls I’ve seen suggest that Albertans are only slightly less idiotic than other Canadians. Not to mention the nitwits they have elected to city government in Calgary and Edmonton. Seems vanishingly unlikely to me that a separation referendum would succeed there.
Quite right – an actual independence referendum right now would get, at best, 20% of the vote.
MS. Smith’s referendum, in contrast, is so ambigious:
“Should Alberta remain a province of Canada, or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?”
the “yes vote can be counted as saying Alberta should remain in Canada AND as saying the Alberta government should prep for departure – so no matter how we vote, both sides win (or lose) See paul530 on substack for my rants on stupid this is – and what can be done about it.

You’re right. You’re so right. Vanishingly unlikely.
The Forever Canadian Guys are totally right. You know?
I think Canadians should just let Albertans have a referendum, unimpeded, and just put the whole juvenile thing to rest. Forever. Its the right thing to do.
Wow! That’s a really scary picture … a black oil octopus. And those horrible tentacles of black oily death. Kinda reminds me of the black pool monster, Armus … from Star Trek TNG.

Art imitates Art … in the neverending service of mind control over the weakest of humans. Black pools of DEATH … Right?
the ‘tone’ and ‘intent’ reminds me of this one:

and ridiculous lower body strength.
when people reminded him of the scene in night court he always responded cheerfully.
BTW … depicting oil as some horrific deadly monster … is similar to claiming there are pregnant men, and chicks with dikks. It’s denying the REALITY of just how wonderful oil has been for mankind. Having been brainwashed by the anti-capitalist, anti-science, leftists.
These people have to believe the opposite of reality and normalcy. They’re obsessed with pushing false narratives.
“BTW … depicting oil as some horrific deadly monster”
I see the pipeline infrastructure as the oily monster, not the oil.
Surly you can’t imagine a catastrophe like the sinking of that unsinkable ship, the Titanic, right off of the East coast of Newfoundland but with the exception of being vast crude oil tankers.
No, no there is a moratorium on tanker traffic on the West coast.
But rest assured that tanker traffic continues apace off of the East coast of Newfoundland.
And anyway, the cod banks are already gone and the harp seals with them.
Who cares if a tanker goes down off of the East coast, biodiversity-wise?
As long as the so-called cartoonist is so indoctrinated about the eeevils of oil, when will we see a cartoon depicting the Saudis (who supply the oil to Toronto) in a similar fashion?
Waiting in 3…2…?
The Joos made them do it!
GYM finds himself curiously aroused by tentacle hentai.
LOL
The left-wing Globe and Mail has always opposed Albertans and Alberta’s rights. This cartoon is just one example.
I have crazy ideas about Alberta oil, I want it exported all over the world and refined and used in every province and territory. As an Eastern Bastard, I’d rather be buying my oil from Alberta than anywhere else in the world.
Reminds me of something…

If central Canada ever wonders about the roots of Alberta separatism, this cartoon explains a fair bit.
Octopus isn’t kosher.
