    Brothers, Sisters, Comrades! I urge you to contribute to the campaign for a Free Alberta. I will be directing my donations to Keith Wilson’s campaign.

    Over 300,000 signed a petition for their voice to be heard. Many were unable to because of their address issues (box numbers) Many were afraid to sign (so much for “Strong and Free”) If every person that signed that petition gave $50, that’s 15,000,000.

    $50 is such a small price when considering the benefits we will receive by living in a free and prosperous nation!!!

    1. Equalization payments. Make the distinction. All provinces get “transfer payments” (which is just an indication that the feds overtax and then dole out to provinces). But equalization payments are a far more important issue. Did you know that since the start of the equalization program in the 1950’s, that Quebec has received over 50% of ALL payments ever made and it has received them every year. By comparison, Alberta has received a total of .02% with the last payment made in fiscal 1964/65.

      1. Yes, an important distinction. Your post is also an important reminder of the entrenched larceny that is Soviet Canuckistan.

        I would add that tax revenues from Oil and Gas (normally profitable endeavors) are transferred to the various propaganda arms of the liarberal party of Soviet Canuckistan. If they don’t like Alberta’s “dirty” oil, then put your money where your mouth is and don’t accept any of it as the subsidy they receive to publish their putrid trash.

  8. I don’t know. Polls I’ve seen suggest that Albertans are only slightly less idiotic than other Canadians. Not to mention the nitwits they have elected to city government in Calgary and Edmonton. Seems vanishingly unlikely to me that a separation referendum would succeed there.

    1. Quite right – an actual independence referendum right now would get, at best, 20% of the vote.

      MS. Smith’s referendum, in contrast, is so ambigious:
      “Should Alberta remain a province of Canada, or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?”

      I think Canadians should just let Albertans have a referendum, unimpeded, and just put the whole juvenile thing to rest. Forever. Its the right thing to do.

    3. BTW … depicting oil as some horrific deadly monster … is similar to claiming there are pregnant men, and chicks with dikks. It’s denying the REALITY of just how wonderful oil has been for mankind. Having been brainwashed by the anti-capitalist, anti-science, leftists.

        I see the pipeline infrastructure as the oily monster, not the oil.
        Surly you can’t imagine a catastrophe like the sinking of that unsinkable ship, the Titanic, right off of the East coast of Newfoundland but with the exception of being vast crude oil tankers.
        No, no there is a moratorium on tanker traffic on the West coast.
        But rest assured that tanker traffic continues apace off of the East coast of Newfoundland.
        And anyway, the cod banks are already gone and the harp seals with them.
        Who cares if a tanker goes down off of the East coast, biodiversity-wise?

  13. I have crazy ideas about Alberta oil, I want it exported all over the world and refined and used in every province and territory. As an Eastern Bastard, I’d rather be buying my oil from Alberta than anywhere else in the world.
