  1. Carney sure has done a great job of painting Canada into a corner. He was elected to perform one important job – negotiate with Trump. He couldn’t get the job done so he pivoted to China, knowing it would create a bigger rift with Trump. Why does Carney keep poking the bear? Because he knows his voting base and he will use their reflexive anti-American emotions to try to gain a majority. The quote aboùt burning your country to the ground to rule over the ashes comes to mind.

    1. ” He was elected to perform one important job – negotiate with Trump. ”

After a decade of Justin Trudeau the Liberal Party was in such disarray and so far down in the polls that the only way Mark Carney could see to win was to jump on the TDS train and exploit the innate Canadian insecurities and our national inferiority complex as much as possible. It worked. He didn’t think beyond that, sadly.

      1. Liberal voters don’t think, they run on emotions imo. Funny how pretty much every other nation was able to negotiate with Trump with some degree of success except for the Canadian Liberal government. Not that Liberal voters will notice that inconvenient fact.

Countdown to when Liberals will want to shut down Alberta’s oil exports (and Saskatchewan’s smaller amount ) to America. Then Saskatchewan’s potash and uranium exports.

        3…2…1

  2. I’m enjoying all the sputtering of Americans saying they’re embarrassed/mortified, blah, blah, blah.
If they knew how Canadians have been programmed with and spew anti-American propaganda for over 5 decades, they might think differently.

    1. The only people in the US embarrassed/mortified by what is going on are leftist idiots.

Most of us on the right could care less “what other countries think of the US” because worrying about that has gotten us the mess we are in and why should I care what people who can’t see their own country is circling the drain think?

  3. Trump is right, China is not to be trusted. They already have too much influence in Canada. And Canada shouldn’t become a way station for Chinese goods. That said, there is a big difference between dictating what you will allow into your country and dictating what other people can allow into theirs.

  4. Any “Deal” with china is going to be a Hell of a lot easier to get into than to exit from.
Only God can will be able to help us

  5. China can’t be trusted..
    Can Ahh Duh can?
When you examine Canadian Government promises against government action..Canada can be trusted.
    To lie.
    Violate every trust.
    Imprison citizens for legal activities.
    Reward corruption and theft.
From a western perspective, who cares what deals Little Lord Carnage makes?
The Eastern voters voted for this ,let them enjoy .

I maintain that Carney and his Ministers are working for Western Separation.
If they are not, what could they have done differently, these past 11 years?

    What would be the motive?
Endless power in the remainder of Can Ahh Duh.
The Canadien Kleptocracy will continue until there is no tax payer left to enslave.
Liberal Majorities forever. (Forever being ,until bankruptcy)
The Policies of Gang Green will rule.

And those obnoxious, practical bastards from the West can join with their American cousins.

When reason threatens the delusions of emotionally retarded people, their normal response is to attack that reason,or those who so reason.
Other Peoples Money..the crack of our “helpers”..they cannot exist without their fix, even when they cause other people to have no money.
This wisdom used to be taught to children,in The Tale of the Golden Goose.
Liberals are currently trying to find that Gold Goose,as parables are beyond them.

China has already shown their hand to Canadians, when they own a project,Canadians need not apply..Canadian standards? No speak English.
Funny how no media slug dare mention the Chinese interference in Can Ahh Duh..
Thos federal politicians known to be compromised and controlled by Chinese agencies?
    Still remain unnamed..
And those are just the ones allowed to be insinuated against..

For our politicians are all bottom feeding worms,”We have investigated ourselves and we are blameless”,followed by “We need a pay raise” and “Inflation is down”.
Maybe we should tell them the goose is in Wawa?
Canada died,we have no leaders cause we have no nation..east and West are about to discuss how little we have in common.
    The conversation will be short.
East to West “Shut up and give us your money”.
    West to East “F..U”.
Followed by the Eastern Government granting Chinese Colonies all over the West..
As Can Ahh Duh has no armed forces of its own.

  6. “Every day we’re reminded that we live in an era of great-power rivalry,” Carney said. “That the rules-based order is fading. That the strong can do what they can, and the weak must suffer what they must.”

I think if my president called my country “weak”, I’d be angry. This is a statement that followed another by Carney, where he outlined an economic competition between two “strong” countries, economically (China and the US). Two things about the above statement:

    1. What “rules” is Carney referring to. It sounds suspiciously like a shortsighted middle manager who utters that disgusting line at a board meeting…..”But…but…that’s the way we’ve always done it.”

    2. The second point is that countries don’t become “weak” overnight. It’s a symptom of long term policy. Canada, over the years has decimated the domestic industrial base. It’s been done through regulations, Green policy, and unachievable goals based in debatable analysis. It’s been maintained by shifting towards questionable priorities. And, it’s been justified by creating outward dependency. The thing about dependency is that requires more than one entity to continue.

I see a lot of critiques about Carney’s sorjourn into China. Some favorable, most not. What I haven’t seen is an alternative. On the Left, the attitude seems to be…”well, we’ll see if this works, I’ll trust my government to take care of me.” On the right, it seems to be, “this is an absolute sell out and will be a disaster.”

So, how does Canada pull itself out of the current state of affairs, and negative future? Not easily…but I’m kind of an optimist. The first thing that needs to go is the Utopian Green policy. It needs to be wiped out of the regulatory agencies. Regulations, in general, need to be loosened on the remaining industrial base. And, then, and only then, can a solid manufacturing and industrial base start to grow again. Canada needs to move away from the “IKEA” type business (foreign countries shipping parts for Canada to put together) and start making their own parts again.

Whenever I went on family trips as a kid, my older brother used to do that thing where he’d grab my hand and start swatting me with it. All the time saying…”Stop hitting yourself. Stop hitting yourself.” I see the restrictive policies and laws instituted in Ottawa that are instrumentally anti-business, and I can’t help thinking….”Canada…stop hitting yourself.”

    1. As an addendum:

The irony of this self imposed restrictive authority is palpable. Let’s say for argument’s sake that Anthropogenic Climate Change is a real problem, and not just some made up re-distribution of wealth scheme. Guess which country is the biggest benefactor of warmer temperatures. Guess which country, all of sudden, increases their usable farmland exponentially. Guess which country is able to expand into their northern regions in mass forming new productive urban centers and manufacturing bases. Guess which country acquires more easy access to rare minerals, petroleum, and resources. Guess which country steadily climbs to a dominating economic position.

      Canada.

  7. The Canada-Chinese trade deal is surprizingly modest. The Chinese may export up to 49,000 EVs (about 3% of the Canadian vehicle market) per year into Canada at a low tariff rate. In exchange, Canada may export certain agricultural products into China without tariffs.

That’s it. There’s no threat to Canadian sovereignty, and no chance that Chinese goods will be pouring over the Canadian border into the US.

That Trump would claim otherwise is lunacy. It’s obvious this has nothing to do with China, and everything to do with the president’s animosity towards Carney. The goods news is that it’s unlikely that Trump will follow through on his threat, and if he does, it won’t likely last long.
