“Three quarters blame the news media for polarization.” Understandable but the media has always taken partisan positions. But I agree with another writer of a different column who has no quarrel with that except with the CBC, who having taken massive government subsidies ( in other words paid by all stripes of the tax paying public ) is obligated to take a neutral stance and fairly present both sides. Just the facts ma’am, just the facts! And let us draw our own conclusions. Right now the CBC bias is unacceptably the most egregious of any of the media. Just watch any of the political forums- opinion panels are almost always totally left leaning, often current supporters of the Liberal party or former Liberal campaign workers and frequently it appears having never come west of the Ontario border. The facial expressions of some of the hosts when faced with less than favorable Liberal opinions is hilariously close to someone sucking on a lemon.

The media didn’t bias their reporting due to a bailout – the media needed the bailout due to their biased reporting. It simply allowed them to continue what they were doing, that the public had stopped buying.
