  1. “They went to campus and had their heads filled with junk and have never been challenged on any of this for their entire life, by anyone.

An entire generation of privileged idiots.”

DSA Co-Chair Megan Romer says “We believe in taxing the hell out of millionaires.”

She then struggles to explain what that actually means:

Remnick: “What does ‘taxing the hell out of them’ mean?”

Romer: “Yeah. You know, again, I don’t have, like, a solid…”

    Remnick: “But shouldn’t you?”

Romer: “Ummmmm, that’s a good question.”

    1. “ Behind the scenes, the authorities responsible for protecting the public admit that they lack the resources they need to get the situation under control.”

Tens of billions spent on high speed rail, and not even a quarter mile of track has been laid. But no money for killing rats. How progressive.

    2. “I see lots of typhus cases.”
“There is no typhus in St. Petersburg.”
“I’m a doctor; I know what typhus looks like!”
      “Your attitude has been noted.”
      from Dr. Zhivago, paraphrased

    3. I have heard of HOAs in Beverly Hills that not only refused to deal with rat infestations but then went around and rounded up all the feral cats that had been eating the rats.

To be fair, Bob Barker did tell them to help control the pet population. He never said anything about the rat population, though.

    4. I don’t like Newsom but I think it’s possible that he’s had some experience trying to keep rats out of a house. (I googled this; my experience with rats gnawing the walls of an old wooden house does not extend to typhus.)

Corporations tell you you can put out chemical bait and all your rats will eat it and die. In real life, one or two rodents, depending on how many different species you have, will eat some and die. After that, one or two in the next generation, or the one after that, will eat the bait. Most of the rodents will ignore the bait and proceed directly to your shoes, clothes, or furniture, according to taste.

Encouraging human-friendly predators–including alley cats and possums, even though infected fleas can jump off a dying rat onto the animal that’s killed it–and burning or burying all food waste *immediately* reduces rat populations far more effectively than those baits Newsom’s critics are talking about. I know because, when I wasn’t living here, my parents tried chemical baits. When I cleaned up the poison and brought in just one good cat, that cat was killing on average two rodents a day for the first year, and after that, what d’you know, I could leave a roll of t.p. in the bathroom or even leave laundry in a hamper until I had a full wash load.

Also: flea-borne typhus is non-fatal partly because it hurts enough that people call doctors right away, but has a mortality risk below 1% of treated and 10% of untreated patients. The strain of typhus that produced epidemics, historically, is louse-borne. When most of the human population had lice, repeated bites gave repeated doses of bacteria and produced more fatal cases of the disease.

Hasan Piker, influencer and key Democratic party supporter, recently hosted Norman Finkelstein on his Twitch podcast. In the podcast Professor Finkelsteirn denied that any sexual violence against women took place on October 7. He has attacked Israel and Jewish institutions for ostensibly exploiting the Holocaust. He has met with Hezbollah leaders and has given them his support.

  3. I was about ten years old when my parents took me to Red Rocks to see the Tijuana Brass. The opening act was Sergio Mendes and Brasil ’66. What a show! During his set, Sergio joked that in three years the band would have to be renamed Brasil ’69, the audience had a good laugh, I wasn’t sure what he meant.

    1. “Why deny a living man a transplant because he wasn’t vaccinated… but happily harvest his organs the moment he dies?”

Protocol. That’s why. Its political policy.
Personally, I’m not an organ donor. I think cannibalism is wrong.

    1. All grades, all classes, and all credits for courses taught by this fraud should be canceled and refunded.

  4. Tousi reports this morning that Greece has shut down illegal mosques and 60 other sites across Athens. Deportations follow shutdown.
Leftists cry “but these refugees will be killed if they are forced to return to their home country of ________”
Normal people respond “if they stay, they try to kill us “

  5. TRUMP!!! TARIFFS!!! (Not the fact that Autopen, Jug Ears & all the other [spit} Progs & RINO’s destroyed the economy.)

Americans now pay more in taxes than they spend on food, clothing, and shelter combined.

I wonder how long Shitholians have been doing the same…

    1. And what’s really gonna bake your noodle is that approx. 50% of Americans pay NONE of those taxes whatsoever. Except maybe sales taxes. Nah … most of those people shoplift anyway.

    1. He’s gonna take his anti-Trump rhetoric right with him into eternal obscurity. As if this is winning him a single Canadian voter … SMH

        1. Leverage is a bitch.

America can create a rather large moment with their superior force and lever arm. Go ahead, PP … show us how big your lever is.

        2. Which Americans? Afaik Trump is the only one who wants a fifty-first State, and the one he really wanted was Greenland.

Personally, I like that youall are a separate country. It means all of us get to feel superior to countries that can’t share a border in peace for even one hundred years.

  6. Good Lord. What a performance. What an impression made. Fabulous vocal, but also incredible sexual innuendo energy and beauty. ”Go ahead, Go ahead Baby…” OMG his spoken word vocal interlude is just dripping with male sexual energy … full on heterosexual male energy. Wow.

I’m not now, nor was I at age 9 watching this on floor with my face glued to a 19×19 B&W TV … a flaming LGBTQueer. But is young Mick Jagger not the sexiest man alive at that moment in time? Alright … next to Sean Connery who I’d just seen in Goldfinger a couple months later at the drive in theatre?

And the Stones songwriting and discography simply blew-UP in the years immediately following this broadcast. What a time to be a kid.

  7. Art Gallery of Greater Victoria to host an all-ages drag show under the auspices of tying in with an exhibition about family or some such: https://aggv.ca/events/our-haus-a-celebration-of-chosen-family/

Even in the insane asylum that is Victoria, I don’t see how this is going to be popular. Some days I suspect the point is to tank attendance and alienate donors so as to justify needing more grant funding from the government, but that’s crazy talk.

In general, arts organizations on the Island seem to be doubling down on trying to piss off normies.
