Memorandum Of Understanding

Not a bug, but a feature.

Cenovus Energy CEO Jon McKenzie said Tuesday ‌Alberta’s proposed 1 million barrel-per-day pipeline to British Columbia’s Pacific coast cannot be financed by the private sector under Canada’s current regulatory regime.

McKenzie, who heads one of Canada’s largest oil sands companies, said at ‌the Global Energy Show in Calgary that the country’s industrial carbon pricing system makes Canadian oil uncompetitive and inhibits the production growth required to fill the proposed pipeline.

  1. I find it amusing that basic bitch Canadians think Carney is Captain Canada when he’s so obviously just non-faggy Justin.

It’s such a charade and Canadians are buying it so hard. I suspect when Trump is gone and Canada is shittier than ever there will be a Mulroney level collapse and hatred for this guy.

At which point he’ll grab his bag and head to Monaco and never be heard from again.

  2. The Trudeau government has completely screwed up Canada for investment. Canada cannot be trusted…..investing in Canada is like investing in North Korea.

    1. “… like investing in North Korea.”

Yep. Fabulous investment, as long as you got ‘Friends’ in high places, and you make sure they get their cut.

  3. Well, yes, of course.
Plain as the nose on your face, for anyone with an iota of common sense and business knowledge.
TM pipeline fiasco made that clear.
The Liberal regime ensured that was built at Quadruple the cost on initial budgeting.
Nothing has changed for the better.
Now, how does Marx Carnage respond?? Does he respond?? Most likely deflects into the best economy in the G7, or some other rubbish statement.

    1. l sadly have had to fianlly admit to myself, with 60 years of watching ottawa[s] and a BA in poli sci that the voters in Canaduh truly ARE brain damaged to continue to support that ideology and party bent on DESTROYING the nation. it is truly suicidal. l read commentary on National Post and puzzle at the reflex braying on all things Liberal.
the metrics all point to the same, we are WORSE OFF under 11 years of Liberals. we are worse off than we were 50 years ago under TURDeau 1.0. and yet in the most cynical tactic lve ever seen in Cdn politics, they dont just do the usual ‘oh look a floor walker’ for the first time they ACTIVELY SOUGHT AND PROMOTED THE TRAITORS TO WALK.
never before, and ‘anything for power’ and ‘oh please masters, saddle us with mounds of surveillance and censorship’.
a sad time for me. brought to us by justin uh justin uh turdeau turdeau turd.

      1. “…with 60 years of watching ottawa[s] and a BA in poli sci that the voters in Canaduh truly ARE brain damaged…”

        …or the elections are bent…

Watching California, I can’t rule it out. Maybe they’re just a little more crafty than the Americans?

I do concede that there are a lot of brain-damaged voters in 416, and some of 905 still votes NDPee. You meet these people sometimes and you wonder what the f- they’re thinking, when all you have to is wave your arm and say “Did this town look the same ten years ago? Have you looked out your damn window? Been to the grocery store recently?!”

        1. There’s far more and better election security in Canada than in most of the US. The sad truth is that while Trump got elected three times in a row because a majority of the US agrees with him, the Liberals keep getting elected because a majority of Canadians agree with them.

We have passed the Bezmenov Limit in this country. There’s no way back from this. Get out while you can.

  4. But … but … but Canadians are so virtuous, the Liberals tell us so (as they run off with the loot)

  5. It’s ironic that on the energy front the Chinese rulers are less ideological than ours in Canada. I see few signs yet that the Liberal voters are giving up the idea that all our problems are due to Trump and not self-imposed. It seems that it will have to play out, that conditions will have to get considerably worse before people wake up.

    1. The constant smog tends to belie any environmental stand they might take in China, but it sure does wonders to finance its proponents abroad. They’re literally selling us the rope.

  6. Hard to believe that investors would hesitate to attempt to begin a pipeline construction process after companies spent hundreds of millions trying to navigate the process only to be denied. After all there is a MOU! The fact that the only thing it guarantees is huge increases in revenue for Ottawa in areas of Provincial jurisdiction and makes investments profits untenable is -irrelevant.
Crap you that you would call fiction.
