  1. What People in Cuba are Thinking about a Possible US Attack?

What the regime portrayed as a threat for decades is now increasingly seen by many Cubans as a possible way out of the nation’s collapse.

“I liked what they did in Venezuela: the population didn’t suffer; the attack was against the military. It could be the same here,” says Eduardo, who sells mangoes from a wheelbarrow. “Ordinary Cubans have nothing to lose from a US American intervention because we have nothing. We’re at zero. It costs nothing to try their system—it’s surely better than this one,” he adds.

“The fear is no longer that the US Americans will come; the fear is that they won’t,” says a self-employed worker in Callejón del Carmen. “We’re living like people in a primitive society. People are far too thin, and children are malnourished; hunger in Cuba is now a chronic problem.

    1. Yet he did manage to successfully fly those planes.

My guess is he wasn’t a DIE hire.

      1. L – Agreed, but will he be replaced with one? Well, we can rest assured, he won’t become a Snowbird pilot. Because, there are no pilots remaining qualified to fly a Sopwith Camel… except Snoopy, of course.

    1. He has an unhealthy relationship with the human race. This is what geeks and freaks grow up to be when given unparalleled money and power.

    1. A real fake pilot, not some imaginary story sold to Hollywood.
      Fly Air Canada!

  2. Red dirt road is the euphemism for GYM’s Hershey highway after a long visit from the pounders…

    1. Yes, I thought that was an awfully gay title for country music. Either that or he was glorifying Soviet highways, which seems awfully Commie.

      1. relax, boys.
the red dirt reference is about the red soil in Arkansas and the south.
code for rural southern stuff. like real dudes did.
if you see gay in that, best check your radar.
ps…another real cowboy singer had a song about red dirt with the same title, not what Timothy is doing there.
pps….Timmy is channeling his old Poco daze there. His pipes ain’t what they used to be. His hair ain’t what it used to be, either, for that matter. Heh.
I say so for the same old guy reasons. I can’t tell you why.

        1. The foothills of the Sierra are all red dirt too. Yeah, it doesn’t wash out. There’s a metaphor in there … somewhere.

Poco were something of a Farm Team for The Eagles, although my favorite member of Poco remains Jim Messina … kinda went his own way … sans Eagles.

          1. Yup.
Jimmy Messina. You better think twice.
            Then Loggins and Messina.
My fave Poco dude is Richie Furay, from Buffalo Springfield to Poco to latter day Christian.
Poco wasn’t an Eagles farm team…they just traded bass players.

          2. I’m with you on Furay and Poco … but since you mentioned one of my top 10 bands of all time you’ve given me the entre’ to post the seminal tune from Buffalo Springfield … Stephen Stills – Bluebird … the LONG lp version only available on the compilation lp Buffalo Springfield Again

The guitar pairing of Stephen Stills and Neil Young was something to behold.

            Headphones highly recommended

    1. In a somewhat related story … I’ve started buying 1/2 gal. containers of Half+Half from COSTCO. Why? Because it keeps forever! At least 2-months in my refrigerator. Every carton I buy at Safeway costs 3x as much and spoils in a week.

Yes, half+half … milk fat is delicious and builds brain cells. No, I don’t overdo it.

    1. Ohhhhhh hhhhh … a “warning” from the UN.
I’m sure the Muslims are trembling in their dirty sandals.

  3. Enough of Trudeau and Katy Perry. We don’t need details on the romance in the MSM – whether they are falling over themselves in love with JT, or in the case of the Toronto Sun, even having an article to ridicule them for talking about cats/rats. https://torontosun.com/entertainment/celebrity/katy-perry-justin-trudeau-debate-cats-and-rats-in-viral-video Note: The image in the article of Trudeau/Perry head to head https://smartcdn.gprod.postmedia.digital/torontosun/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/2280583034_303611871.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=564&type=webp&sig=iFf9LT5x34H4sxOxYrGkbg made me think about the similar pose with Morneau https://financialpost.com/news/economy/bill-morneau-named-finance-minister-in-trudeau-government-reports

    1. It’s never been about … equality.
It’s always been about … getting even … holding the whip hand.

    1. I hear the Nubian desert is nice this time of year. May I suggest this man be dropped in the middle of the 400,000 sq.km. desert with a small water bottle … and a 9mm pistol with one bullet.
