      2. Hitler was notoriously hostile to the Catholic church, and Nazi racial ideology was entirely modern and owed nothing to Catholic teaching, with which it was entirely inconsistent.

        Can you point to any Catholic tradition of hatred of the Gypsies, by the way? I’m quite sure there was none. I’m also quite sure that the Nazis exterminated the Gypsies with even greater public support and participation that was ever seen in the persecution of the Jews. Of course, that fact is of no interest if you’re just a malicious faggot out to smear the church.

If your worm brain calls those two things morally equivalent … then you are too far gone to be saved. Yes, Western civilization may be too far gone to be saved. And if THAT isn’t the fulfillment of End Times prophecy… I don’t know what is.

      That wasn’t Maher’s choice, it was just a response to something said by Tucker Carlson.

    2. For what it’s worth, such sources as are available agree that Stalin didn’t actually want war in the 1930’s, and indeed was very worried about Japan attacking him. He would have preferred peace in Europe to a war which might all too easily draw him in. Up until the Czech crisis he was apparently trying to prevent war as far as he could, and avoid it in any event. Munich convinced him that war between Hitler and the West was inevitable, so he abandoned any attempt at preventing or delaying war and focused on keeping out of it, so that the powers involved could exhaust themselves and he could then move on them. That’s why he leaped at Hitler’s offer of a deal over Poland. He got Russia’s historic Polish territory back, gave the forces a good hearty workout, and got an ongoing war between Germany and Britain that would keep him safe for years.

      Just to be clear, Stalin was not humanitarian or benevolent, let alone pacifist. He had simply been buggering his country into the ground for a good fifteen years and he wasn’t blind. He could see how vulnerable and useless they were. He had plans for the future which were hardly peaceful, but his ass was some distance from that future and dragging it there was going to take some time.

      But the point is that Stalin acted only because it was clear that Hitler was going to. Hitler did it, Stalin just noticed. Churchill had bugger all to do with it. Chamberlain was in power until after the fall of France.

      1. Churchill was Britain’s Cassandra through the Thirties but memories of WW1 caused wilful blindness to Hitler’s ambitions clearly set out in “Mein Kampf” (1925). The devil Stalin made a deal with the devil Hitler and thankfully for the allies, Hitler squandered his might on Russia.

  6. Thank you, Kate, for posting this. I don’t watch TV so it’s a bit of an eye opener to see how far this hatred of all things Jewish has become. It seems even the more successful North American Jews are hopping on the bandwagon. Maher’s audience wasn’t comfortable and the laughter was muted. He’s not going to be around much longer.

  8. I’m pretty sure Jews hate everyone else just as much as everyone else hates them. Why should I go out of my way to love Jews? The person behind “The Century Initiative” which aims to make Canada into a third world country is a jew by the name of Mark Wiseman. The principle people involved in turning Britain into a third world shithole were the Miliband brother, whose father was a communist refugee from Hitler. Of course if it doesn’t work out they can always run to Israel where they will be welcomed with open arms. The rest of us are stuck with the results. I’m not losing any sleep if their plans bite them on the ass.
