  1. I’m curious what the water demands for this data center will do the water supply that is already contaminated downstream in the valley from Regina’s disgusting sewage overflows and what not

    1. Wait until you see what happens to the North Saskatchewan watershed if the six proposed massive data centres proposed upstream of Edmonton go ahead. See The Dalles in Oregon for a preview, and remember each one of the proposed is bigger than what they have.

Of course, there probably isn’t enough capex to build them. Oh yeah, CPP and Brookfield are behind a couple of them. Never mind.

  2. Here in America … with the guidance of the Orangebadman … we are making Data Centers responsible for their own power plants. And you can bet they’ll build the most cost effective, reliable energy source available.

    Thank you President Trump!

    1. All data centers are not responsible for their power. It depends on the jurisdiction. Reliability for the homeowner is now being tested. Its literally and figuratively a power struggle.

  3. Unless they’ve moved, I’m not sure I’d want a bell Canada AI facility in the vicinity of Saskpower’s GCC. The last thing you’d want is a large power disruption event or other glitch because of a massive data centre near the place that coordinates T&D and power production for the province.

  4. So you are saying that when I create Greta memes that AI gizmo will be powered by coal?

  5. When a fad goes mainstream, the bankruptcies begin.
    Is A.I crashing and burning?
Making the need for data centres moot?
However this upgrade of the Coal fleet can only be a good thing, whatever “reason” the politicians cling to.
    Gang Green hardest hit.
