The Food Professor- What many Canadians may not realize is how deeply our country relies on rules and regulations. While regulation is necessary, the sheer volume has become problematic.
According to Statistics Canada, federal regulatory restrictions increased by 37% between 2006 and 2021. This surge has been linked to a 1.7-percentage-point decline in GDP growth, along with decreases in business investment, productivity, employment, and the rate of new business formation.
The Hub- It’s time to rein in Canada’s red tape state: DeepDive

Capital goes where it is appreciated and treated with respect.
Solving red tape is a lost cause. You need to reduce the number of people in the public sector by 50%. The remaining people will have to work on real things and won’t have time to move folders around on their desk. They won’t have the money to hire consultants who love red tape – they wrap themselves in it. I’m afraid there are only 2 things that will save us, 1) a meteorite or 2) the sweet Saint of San Andreas.
And while looking up the spelling of San Andreas Copilot gave me a helpful summary. Searched for “Small Dead Animals Saint Andres” and got …
In Saint Andrews, small dead animals can be found in various locations, and it is important to handle them with care. Here are some guidelines for dealing with small dead animals in the area:
Small dead animals found on private property can be buried or bagged and put in the garbage. It is crucial to use disposable gloves or tools and never put a dead animal in compost or green bins. Larger animals on private property may require the responsibility of contacting a waste removal company for disposal. Deceased animals found on public land should be reported to local animal control or public works office for removal. Birds are susceptible to diseases like West Nile virus and avian influenza, and sick or injured birds should be taken to a permitted wildlife rehabilitation centre. For more detailed information on wildlife safety and rehabilitation, residents can refer to local resources or contact wildlife rehabilitation centers directly.
well where in blazes will all the new gubbamint employees GO to punch in? there HAS TO BE a regulatory infrastructure sucking on the teat of industry and commerce.
parasites all. put there by Liberals who are put *there* in the HOC by the sheeple who get to boast they pay for it all.
(psst: how *does* that work?)
Canada is “uninvestable” but that was the entire plan of the Trudeau/Carney Liberals. Many people call Carney a communist, but actually he is more closely aligned with fascist ideology. Fascism was born out of Marxism….it is simply believed by its proponents to be a more efficient form.
Carney is a classic fascist.
Carney is a classic fascist.
“Carney draws inspiration from, among others, Marx, Engels and Lenin, but the agenda he promotes differs from Marxism in two key respects. First, the private sector is not to be expropriated but made a “partner” in reshaping the economy and society. Second, it does not make a promise to make the lives of ordinary people better, but worse. Carney’s Brave New World will be one of severely constrained choice, less flying, less meat, more inconvenience and more poverty: “Assets will be stranded, used gasoline powered cars will be unsaleable, inefficient properties will be unrentable,” he promises. Peter Foster – National Post
That sounds an awful lot like aristocracy.
This is just gloomy talk. The crummy GDP numbers are that way because they do not include Canada’s vibrant underground economy. Here in Toronto, the City of Light, you can barter with bags of weed for value well above purchase price. Only today I picked up several boxes of printer paper, a cooler of roast beef, and, three jugs of windshield wiper fluid for a bag of weed. As the local un-documented electricians say, it is cheaper when you bypass the meter. Stop your whining and embrace the black market. It has the word ‘black’ in it, so it must be good.
Mandated Carry for tax payers only.
Any person dependent on the public purse shall not be permitted lethal weaponry.
There is only one cure for regulated insanity.
Reverse the tax structure, pay tax locally, let the local remit a portion to the Province and the province a portion of their take to the Feds.
If local taxation ever exceeds 10% hang all available politicians and bureaucrats.
Tune in to Frank Zappa singing “I am the Slime”..
Very little has changed..Except the parasitic overload is now killing its host.
