Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

“Mr Carney call your office”
Yeah, so?
They’re not going to stop, are they?
Exactly. Nothing but eye-rolls from the E.U. and Canada.
Maybe the citizenry will have something to say? Just kidding, this is Canada, mommy government knows best.
Eye rolls was one of Hannibal Lecter’s favourite recipes…
Yeah, they’ll only double down on both stupidity and suicide.
To their own peril…except, the elites that come up with this trash, never seem to face the consequence of the lunacy they impose on others.
If only it were that simple. These wanna-be Bond villains flare up like herpes, inconvenient and unexpected. They will not walk away from the equity they’ve invested in their globalist plans, and even if the would, China wouldn’t let them.
Canada isn’t going to be in a position to move forward on any of the nonsense the Marx Carnage has espoused at Davos. The Canadians next great struggle session is going to be keeping warm and well fed in winter, while the gov’t tells them to turn in their guns, and shut up on social media as to why they’re hungry and cold and “new Canadians” are breaking into their houses.
It pleases me to no end that it’ll happen with the #Libranos at the helm, even if all we can do is say, “we told you so” and “this never works” …
Trump’s rambling press conference yesterday and his speech in Davos today have made something increasingly clear: if Trump isn’t fully cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs now, he’s fast getting there.
This is a huge problem for NATO, but it’s an even bigger problem for America.
KM, the guy in the clip is not Trump. And you where saying yesterday “Me TDS?!? No way!”
It’ll come as a shock to you that I’m aware that the above video is not of Trump. But Trump did give a talk today at Davos:
https://youtu.be/MSEycl66RFk
And my conclusions are not deranged, but based on the evidence of these two speeches, plus a pretty obvious deterioration over the last year. Trump is giving TDS a whole new meaning.
killer unMe unDork S
“And my conclusions are not deranged, ” opining about one self is fraught with BULLschiff. You are one klick from deranged on all yer posts. As a service tech, first thing on any job was to assess the individuals I was dealing with, and I had an excellent record for accuracy on that account. And you are wrong about 99% of the time.
Or you are.
I agree with Marmot. NME666 you look and sound like a zealot. Just because people think they are smart does not mean they are. I am sure that you a fine service tech, but yet, has nothing to do with this discussion. You sound like a zealot. Being a zealot is not good.
Marmot, I agree, he was completely unhinged and unable to formulate a competent riposte to the points made out by Carney.
For the zealot, Carney made a good speech. That doesn’t mean that I support and defend him in absolutely everything he does. In fact, I did not vote for him because of his historical stances on certain topics. But credit where it is due. This was a strong speech that was grounded, factual, and compelling and when contrasted to Trump’s, made his look like the ramblings of a senile man complaining that the tomato soup is too red.
Yeah sure 🙂 Allow me to not give a crap for your BS assessment on mental state of your favorite pinata. Just like what I did with all your BS re COVID ‘vaccines’.
If you truly didn’t give a crap, you wouldn’t respond at all.
He didn’t say he wouldn’t respond, he said he wasn’t going to give crap. And as far as I can see he hasn’t, yet. He’s holding it in manfully. Good for him. Hope he can keep it up.
I mean, it can’t be easy in the circumstances, can it?
Oh no! Why now it won’t be able to, uh, you know, do that very important thing it does.
Over its 76 year history, not a single NATO country has been invaded, despite many NATO countries being small and bordering or near an often hostile Russia or Soviet Bloc. Given the bloody history of Europe, that’s close to miraculous.
That’s the “very important thing it does.”
Lisa – “By your logic I could claim that this rock keeps tigers away…”
Homer – “How does it work?”
Lisa – “It doesn’t, it’s just a stupid rock. But I don’t see any tigers around, do you?”
Homer – “Lisa, I want to buy your rock.”
Except that NATO Europe was overrun with tigers (translation: regularly immersed in conflict) prior to 1949.
KM, US, French and UK nukes probably had more to do with not being invaded by the USSR than NATO.
That explains why the UK and France were not invaded. It doesn’t explain why eastern NATO countries were left alone by the USSR / Russia.
Answer: Because those countries were in a military alliance.
There were rocks in Moldavia, Ukraine, and Georgia. Funny they didn’t stop the Russians? Poor argument Watto.
You got me Trapper…
KM, the military alliance has nothing to do with it. France and the UK didn’t give a rat’s f*ck about other Euro nations, they were concerned about themselves, worried that if the Soviet Union started invading it wouldn’t stop till it reached the Atlantic, so best to try to stop it in its tracks.
LS:
Of course every nation in NATO is ultimately in it for themselves, including the US. No one said different. That’s how good alliances work. They are not altruistic but practical.
Granting your usual idiotic and specious “reasoning”, if it’s so tremendously vital to, and the prime source of, the stability of Europe, it sounds like something Europeans should be shouldering the burden for, then, in money and manpower. Not begging for help from the US.
They certainly haven’t been keen on doing that for decades. Weird.
I don’t deny that Europe could have done more to carry the burden. It wouldn’t even bother me if the US left NATO, as European NATO is more than capable of defending itself.
But that’s irrelevant as to whether NATO had and has a purpose, the very question you raised.
NATO had a purpose, which disappeared well over three decades ago.
If it didn’t exist, no one would think of creating it today. Europeans don’t want to pay for it, despite the magical stability attributes you ascribe to it, and the US doesn’t think a suicidal garbage Europe is worth defending out of its own pocket anymore.
It almost disappeared three decades ago, when it looked as if Russia was going to enter the civilized world. But the rise of Putin gave NATO purpose once more. Finland didn’t join recently because it felt lonely. It was responding to a real threat.
KM, you’re not wrong, but one quibble. That’s what NATO did. Canada and the eurotrash have so fully defenestrated themselves that over the last 30 years NATO is now a leviathan of a bureaucracy plus the US military. NATO cannot field two interoperable divisions, and if it could it could not supply or rotate them. The US can put 30 divisions in theater and keep them there.
Because you apparently have no understanding of DJT’s MO, you confuse reality with fantasy, sanity with insanity.
I suppose it’s possible that Trump is so brilliant that I’m incapable of comprehending the genius of his plans. But if so, at least 58% of Americans are in the same boat. And that number has been rising.

Trump’s press conference yesterday was rambling, often incoherent, and ludicrously self congratulatory. And it was almost two hours long. There’s a lot of red flags there.
“Trump took off from Andrews last night, had to turn back for an electrical issue with AF1, returned to Andrews, changed planes, and arrived 3 hours late. Extended red eye. He lands, gets on the helicopter, starts his speech about 20 min late. Trump is 78.”
https://x.com/gc22gc/status/2014021670407905519
It’s good that The President didn’t have to ride a bike on his way to the conference, can’t imagine senile Joe Biden having to do that, and what if there were stairs as well !!
Two hours of talk at any point in the day would be well into Joe Biden’s morning snooze or his afternoon catnap. Not a lot of statesmen can keep up with The President DJT, I think your dislike of what he’s said is simply not liking him personally. That’s fine, we all have opinions.
Yes, but he has the best attendants available on AFx. He’s not sitting in a cramped seat with his elbows and knees aching.
The two-hour rambling incoherent talk was at the Whitehouse press conference, not in Davos.
Mere mortals cannot comprehen d 4-D chess.
I guess not. But how do us mortals differentiate such cognitive Goliaths from 79 year olds who are going a bit nutty?
You compare them to Joe Biden.
I’m sure you could understand Trump easily enough if you wanted to. You’ve decided not to. You’re determined to hate him and you’ll invent any grounds for your hatred, however transparently insane.
Trump has many things going through his head all the time. The fact that you can’t keep up is your problem….not his.
My local leftist Fox affiliate morning news program just “interviewed” a leftist professor who came in to say that Howard Lutnik gave an unhinged, Trumpian-insane, speech at DAVOS. No, they didn’t show a clip of the speech … or recount a single salient point … just pure, unbridled TDS Trump HATE.
Yes, globalism and netzero are the DEATH of the West. And when we can no longer fund the welfare State? Bloody revolution ensues. When the welfare dependents have nothing … they’ll have nothing to lose.
I want to see the end of the welfare state. I have been paying for it all my life and will probably not get it all back via my pension. Thank you government inflation policy.
NB: All governments love inflation as it a) reduces their debt and b) increases their income.
This gets funner every day!
Wow!!! Preach it! “…net zero by 2030 when they don’t make a battery!!!”
Others making the battery for you means you can export your pollution for the “feelgoods”
My neigbour’s like that…thinking beyond plugging the unit in for a recharge is too deep and wide of a chasm.
Ultimately the lawn gets cut…and that’s all that matters.
Kate,
Formatting of this post hides the tweet after a few seconds, leaves just the youtube.
Yes, as intended. I didn’t want to load the entire tweet which is just a transcript of the video.
In a crushing blow to Carney and his Globalist Masters … the US Stock market is spiking UP UP UP … recovering nearly all of yesterdays TDS-fueled losses.
https://markets.businessinsider.com/index/dow_jones?op=1
Oh well … so much for the TDS crafted BUYING opportunity. That door just slammed shut in a big ass hurry.
Canadian stock market, European, and Emerging markets are outperforming the S&P. It does not mean that those economies are better. Do not fall into the trap of equating stock market performance with respective economies.
You can’t argue with what he says. But, if you are subserviant to those who supply raw materials ,or finished products, or components in a supply chain, then surely it is best to manage the situation and not allow dominance to any one supplier, but have multiple suppliers.
Carney, being a globalist, didn’t mention this standartd bit of business wisdom.
Okay, in a better ordered world *this* would be the speech on rotation on every Canadian news network. Things were called by their names—including China. To summarize:
1. Globalization has benefitted the Chinese Communist Party, a few thousand of their wealthy amd powerful collaborators in the West, and basically no one else, in America or elsewhere.
2. The United States are done offshoring any industry whose product is vital to national security, including energy production. Any country that values its sovereignty will do likewise if at all possible.
3. If a civilized country must import any vital product, it should not be from a foreign power whose government is openly plotting to enslave the rest of humanity (viz. Red China).
Unlike the Chinese Communist Party, President Trump and other patriotic Americans do not want to “rule the world.” They do have a right to ask self-styled Friends and Allies whose side they’re really on—the side of their own peoples, or the side of the CCP.
Because it’s hard to see what Carney and his fellow mediocrities would have done differently up to this point if they hadn’t been deliberately doing the dirty work of the red emperors in Beijing.
(Globalization hasn’t even benefitted the average Chinaman. Decades of the one-child policy, mass murder of girls in their mothers’ wombs, and the soaring cost of raising a child in China even for men who can find wives willing to have children at all have led to the Han Chinese essentially giving up on reproducing themselves. Socialism with Chinese characteristics is in no one’s long-term interest. It’s a recipe for extinction.
But please, Mr. Trudeau, explain again why you admire their basic dictatorship.)
4. The hoax of global warming and net zero is hollowing out once great Western nations. Making them dependent vassal States to the Communist Chinese who make all their windtowers, solar panels , and batteries.
The US OTOH is becoming the world’s greatest energy superpower.
Ouch! Nope. Not a whiff of dementia or the insanity of eco-leftist illogic. Psssst … fossil fuels are not killing the planet … they’re raising worldwide standard of living and saving lives.
“Global warming” has always been a fraud perpetuated by Communist China as it is the only country that benefits from the fraud. It is no surprise that Liberal and Maoist Maurice Strong was in on it from the start….which is why he hid out in his Beijing apartment after being implicated in the Iraq oil for food fraud.
I gotta say, amongst Trumpists, who I consider myself to be one, there is a measure of cultism which will allow no slip or error to distract them. I say come on guys, he’s human and isn’t always alright but this makes me anathema.
Trump is so far ahead of those who think he isn’t “alright” it isn’t funny. Trump has one of the best cabinets the U.S. has seen in a very long time.
“as European NATO is more than capable of defending itself.” Quote of the day, perhaps the week. European NATO couldn’t defend itself for the last eighty odd years without Uncle Sam standing behind them. Your logic is as deep as your understanding of world affairs. Trump is tired of sending money and aid to Europe and then having these countries criticize America. Do you have any idea how much American money and investment was shoveled into Europe? As for the Greenland problem, how much money has America spent in Greenland in manning the radar stations there over the period of the Cold War. 55,000 Greenlanders and 10,000 American service personnel, twenty percent of the economy coming from America, but America, because of Trump, is now the enemy.
After the virtue posturing fades…”Greenland Garrison at full strength for first time in 70 years”.
