O, Sweet Saint Of San Andreas

Hear my prayer.

Via Wall Street Apes;

University of California Davis economists calculate a 40 cents per gallon increase the moment Phillips 66 closes their Los Angeles refinery this December. Then another 81 cents when Valero shuts down four months later in April. That totals a $1.21 per gallon increase by August 2026, your 15 gallon fill-up jumps from $70 to at least $95.

The Stanford Energy Institute came up with even worse projections. They are showing potential spikes to $8 per gallon during supply disruptions.

  1. Elections have consequences.

And I laughed and I laughed and I laughed.

I filled up last week for $2.17 a gallon.

Several stations in the Denver area are selling unleaded for $1.65 a gallon.

      1. You’re right of course, but thus far they haven’t outlawed and closed the refinery infrastructure in the state. They will get around to that, if the currently most-useless-of-all-time governor remains in office.

  2. What’s the problem? All Californian’s voted for the politicians who promised …

“To end our addiction to fossil fuels”
    “To take mass transit”
“To go all electric with an EV mandate”
“ Peak oil is running out”
“To pay what the kewl Europeans have to pay for gasoline”
“To build a high speed [sic] train connecting all of California … except those dope-growing regions up north”
“To get Californian’s OUT of their cars”

    1. Well, since the refineries are closing, that’ll make more electrical power available for the EVs and High Speed Rail.

  3. And to think that Gavin Newsom might become the President of the United States…
    God help us.

    1. “might” is doing some heavy lifting.. Unless the left can lobotomize him, and turn him into another Joe Biden, he’ll never get anywhere near the levers of presidential power..

  4. L – Gavin Newsom and Justin Trudeau are both Peter Pan characters or caricatures of political leaders, both able to turn thriving polities into a Cult. Marxist/postmodern version of Sodom and Gomorrah.

“O Sweet Saint of San Andreas”, indeed!

  5. Meh, I suspect the political pressure will be too much for Newsom, and he will relax the standards “temporarily” and allow gas in from outside the state.

    1. According to this video it’s too late, since the other 49 states combined are using all available shipping resources by importing just 5% of their 12 day supply requirements, and since even the Communists in California will never surrender their gas guzzlers, something’s gotta give as the pinkos finally reach Peak Bottom.

The fall of Big Left around the world, especially in South America
is inevitable and another harbinger revealing…

The future of the West is brighter, without Rob Reiner.
