1. Great news! I worked in Chile in 1995/96 and despite what the imbecile “professors” said about Pinochet, the people I worked with said he was the best thing that happened to Chile. This is great news.

2. Which raises the question of why communism has had to be defeated in Chile a second time.

   General Pinochet was thrown to the wolves in 1990 by his fair-weather friends in Washington, who had no further interest in supporting a statesman who took the struggle against communism seriously. Pray for President-elect Kast, and pray he not be stabbed in the back in his turn.

   I’m not getting used to online publications, for example BBC “News” reporting that Kast is a “hardline conservative” and “far-right” and that “fear of crime and migration” have fueled Chile’s turn to the right.

   They mention how +336k migrants, many from Venezuela, live in Chile now and how many have left Venezuela to escape a “very very bad economic situation” … it’s never because millions of Venezuelans feared for their lives after signing the Tascon List … https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tascón_List and fear of retribution from the hard leftists, the closet communists who rule Venezuela and steal their wealth, dignity, and freedoms.

   Elections in South America next year will be in Peru, Colombia, and Brazil, and very likely a new gov’t in Venezuela, either by force or with new elections. Their economic lifeline of selling cut-rate oil being cut off and allowing the sale of drugs through the country will soon scupper their monetary supply.

   There is a very good chance that 2/3 of these new governments will be “far-right” … leaving Brazil with some explaining to do… like how is Jain Bolsonaro doing these days? and his son running for president …?

   1. To leftists, anything other than full blown communism is “far right”.

6. Too bad Pierre Poilievre didn’t have the brains to run as pro-Trump and anti-Communist in the last election.
