  1. Forgive me … but I liked N.America more when it was 96.7% white. Nice Christmas Parade … with Sinterklaas and whatnot.

  2. The Clark Griswald of Lionel trains. It is an impressive layout. I do wonder what happens if something gets stuck in one of the tunnels in the back.
    Thanks for sharing this.

  3. My first Toronto Santa Claus parade was in the early Seventies and they were still using a lot of those clown costumes. I remember the Mother Goose float.

You may have already seen this but it provides context why they never wanted Hegseth confirmed and why they are still desperate to take him down.

  4. How do you feel about getting a traffic ticket?

One of the toughest jobs for any police officer is the issuance of traffic tickets for minor violations…But the idea of stopping some guy on his way to or from work, hitting him with a summons for not using his turn signal or for an expired inspection tag, makes the officer appear petty toward someone who is not exactly a menace to society. Yes, even minor laws must be enforced, but it’s not the best public relations opportunity for cops.

I followed an Alberta Sheriff out of town on the way home from work yesterday. Four out of 7 turns/lane changes he didn’t signal. And no, his turn light wasn’t burned out, it worked when he braked.

If the GD cops aren’t observing the traffic laws, why should the rest of us?

    1. Don’t get in the way of the Calgary cops heading back to the 14th st north station for shift change.

They drive well above the speed limit, and turn signals? What are turn signals?

      1. That also applies when CPS are racing to Tim Hortons.
If “Driving is a privilege not a right” were true, 98% of cops would be on foot. Cops are among the worst drivers on the road.

        1. Was driving north of Taber on 36 a couple weeks back. Met another Sheriff’s vehicle, southbound. Had his cell phone up to his ear, talking away. But they’ve had traaaaaaaaining…

PS That’s why I’m against having the Sheriffs as our provincial police force. Far too many are worse than the Queen’s Horsemen in that respect.

    2. Alberta sheriffs? Not a brain trust. They all look stupid with their shaved heads. Their jobs are transporting prisoners, guarding courts, shitting on truckers, and handing out chickencrap tickets. Criminal investigation is not on their list.
