This AI cat video is an example of the latest state of AI videos. While most certainly amusing, there’s a darker side to what this technology could be used for.
Imagine if dozens, then hundreds, then thousands of videos start appearing on social media, showing police brutalizing black people or Muslims. Realize that 100% of these videos would be fake, but the average person won’t know that. What do you think would result? Who would do such a dastardly thing, you might be wondering?
I’ve long felt that [some of] the elites want the rest of us fighting with each other, rather than closely examining them. That’s who would launch such a propaganda campaign and they have more than enough money & resources to do it.

Robert,
What you describe is not the future – it is the present day. It’s a Soros world and the Hunter Biden laptop is Russian Disinformation.
I suspect that video “proof” of just about anything will become a non-starter. We will require reliable (and perhaps sworn and proven credible) witnesses to validate those videos. For the general public, they will cease to believe those video proofs unless they saw it with their own eyes.
Unless there is a way to absolutely, positively verify that a video or audio recording is absolutely true without any manipulation. And I don’t think that can be done.
It’s entirely possible. It was possible fifteen years ago. It generally requires custom hardware though.
I see it as being more literal.
A dark age of data centres consuming all the power to show us an endless stream of cute cat videos and cute dudes taking heads.
Hey Grok, why is my power so expensive? “Because you keep asking me daft questions old man. Slap on a sweater…. Too broke, too chilly? Have you you considered maiaid (Magical AI assistance in dying). We hunger for your electrons. “
Fake videos or pictures to manipulate public opinion? Welcome to the Palestinian media campaign. I remember the fake victims in Lebanon lining up for pictures as cadavers. Or Newsweek using photoshop to add more smoke to a picture of Beirut. That cat video is nothing; youshould see the ones with the “digital assistant” that is going around.
Oh, c’mon, kids.
This is blindingly obvious. And distracting as planned.
Make us all doubt what we see to the point where we don’t want see it anymore. Or we just stupidly laugh at the funny cats and shite.
Now we doubt everything we see and hear, while they laugh at us and show and tell us what they are.
GASLIGHT PSYOP 101… again! Didn’t 2020 to now clue you in??
GAWD!
Have a nice day.
No-one has to fake videos of cops beating up and injuring or killing black people for trivial offenses. The internet is full of real ones. When I see ones with good camera angles and crisp audio, I know they are fake. There are quite a few of those.
my fav hobby now is telling people that AI will destroy civilization.
from the barista with the look of dismay seemingy realizing what she thinks other do also.
to the gentleman at KFC where the checkin menu needed prodding.
“Oh, AI could never be used for evil! It’s too stupid!”
The writing was on the wall when the first deep fake came out, but most people refused to see it. Much like Liberal voters.
X and other social media need to indicate what videos are AI and what are not.
Won’t be easy. AI-generated videos are getting more realiistic by the day.
exactly my point. l predicted this 40 years ago, having been in IT 10 years already, the ‘golden age’ of mainframes. the context was digital court evidence; the experts ans specialist have to admit to the judgey judge they cant tell the ral stuff from the fake, it ALL originatges digitally and the fakery matches what ‘would be’ right down to the shadows and blips.
all of it.
indistinguishable. the tst case is the mobster who is digitally removed from one vid and insertd into another 500 kms away at the same time.
forensic evidence dismissed.
not guilty.
case dismissed.
charges dropped. if you can (wait for it) afford to hire someone to attend to the details.
we are irretrieveably DOOMED.
On social media, I’m getting increasingly concerned about the number of videos dispensing medical advice. Some of it appears legit, but much of it is unsupported nonsense. I hate to think how many fall for the quackery while abandonding the advice of their doctors.
Yes, KM, of course we should listen to the advice of the expert healthcare professionals:
“In Canada, it is estimated that over 87,000 patients suffer from adverse events in hospitals each year, with around 24,000 deaths attributed to medical errors”.
Here in the UK, the ‘envy of the world NHS’ does significantly better:
“The number of medical malpractice claims against the NHS has significantly increased over the years.
In 2020/21, there were approximately 11,397 settled clinical negligence cases.
This figure has more than doubled since 2006/07, when there were 5,625 claims”.
The usual “the medical profession isn’t perfect therefore it’s nonsense” argument.
No, the medical profession is not perfect. But it’s one thousand times better than quakery.
At this rate, it’ll be impossible to tell the difference…
Quakery? That’s earth-shaking news. Or perhaps you’re just feeling your oats.
Hey, whatever you do, don’t watch “Duck Tales”! They’re notorious for quackery.
“I’ve long felt that [some of] the elites want the rest of us fighting with each other, rather than closely examining them.”
Naaahhh. Fighting’s not required in Canada. All they need is a big orange squirrel to the south to keep the majority fixated while things crumble and rot.
I predict the ability to use AI video to move the masses will expire rapidly, as the technology will bring with it a new age of skepticism.
Best case, probably. But what damage before that?
Once AI improves enough, NASA will return to the moon. Until then, shower curtain poles and aluminum foil aren’t going to cut it again.
l gotta ask wat, did ANY of the space program happen? were there ANY manned space missions?
is it *just* apollo 1 faked or the entire thing? if so, why just 1 mission? and how the h-e-hockey schticks did the conspirators get all those engineers to sign on and shut their yap half a century?
sheeesh . . . .
For there to have been any manned missions, space would have to exist.
It doesn’t.
For anything requiring great secrecy upon pain of death, you’ll find freemasons. They make terrible actors, but great loyalists.
Once people set aside their brainwashing re: the impossibility of space existing (a vacuum next to an atmosphere, the unprovable theory of gravity, the inability to propel or change direction when travelling through nothing, etc.) they’ll start to ask better questions. Like, why do the leaders of all nations push the same lie? What do they have to gain by fooling people into believing in this fiction? What are they hiding?
The brainwashing involves substituting words like “worldwide” with “global”. Center of mass, with center of “gravity”. “High altitude balloons” and “drones” with “satellites”. “Aeronautics” with”Aerospace”. Etc.
They must repeat these words endlessly to keep up the programming.
The world was conquered a couple of centuries ago. Our official history prior to that date is based on lies. All rulers are puppets. Our real masters hide in the shadows. We are all slaves, and made to believe we are free. That we “elect” our puppets, and that we choose to give most of our wealth to the state.
