  7. Police Story! Used to watch that every week. It was one of those TV cop shows that changed the genre of police shows, and even changed other TV dramas. Lots of good actors cycled through the episodes, and LA area Goodyear dealers were able to put their kids through college. Joseph Wambaugh was one of the writers on that series.

  9. Many SDAers might think this is not that important, but Brian Beldki resigned as BMO’s primary stock forecaster, and took most of his forecasting team with him. Mr. Belski is one of a small group of “superstars” in the finsnfial forecasting community. He was always known as the most optimistic forecaster out there. Up to now he has done well, since stock prices are at an all time high.

    So it could be that BMO is downsizing, or that Belski had an internal spat with senior management, or that senior management disagrees with his eternal optimism. Canada after all is about to go into a severe recession. This fall and winter, with a federal budget forthcoming, is a worrisome time

  10. Sat in a registry office for a while, waiting my turn. The digital wait pad listed at least 7 languages for service.
    Noticed two young men, one with no English and a translation helper. He applied for a driver’s license.
    A 16 yr old brought his father for his application/driver exam. Language no issue.
    Then I thought, when I travel anroad I don’t speak the local language but it’s ok to ride the moto, with a Cdn permit.
