Elbows Down!

What did anyone think was going to materialize out of this trip? All that remains is for the new governor’s water carriers to invent some positive spin for what is really another political loss.

Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to return to Ottawa today with no deals to remove U.S. tariffs from Canadian goods, but he’s leaving his key minister on Canada-U.S. trade behind to keep pressing the Canadian case.

  1. It’s beautiful to see all these elbows up losers keep losing. Remember that video of Marx and his gross wife “dancing” with their elbows up at his coronation party? Gross. Keep losing Marx and the whole Lieberal team, keep losing.

  2. Well, one thing that did come out of this trip was some good sombrero memes.

Other than that, exactly as expected.

How long before the US Navy is blockading the Port of Vancouver to stop the drug boats?

    1. Remember when cocaine got found on one of Paul Martin’s CSL ships in Port of Montreal?
Yeah it goes all the way to the top.
Willfully blind and ignorant the Canadian electorate are.

  3. I would really like to be a fly on the wall of these “negotiations” I am really wondering if canaduh’s approach is along the same lines as Bart and Lisa trying to get Homer to buy them a pool:

Or when they tried to get him to take them to Mount Splashmore.

Canaduh, to make another comparison, is really starting to look like the dark knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. All limbs missing with the coups-de-grace impending.

The corporate raiders of the 80s would go after poorly managed companies with unrealized value on their balance sheet. Trump sees the pathetic mess to the north and realizes this is one of those opportunities.

Also, want to give a shout out to Marc in Calgary. Marc has always made thoughtful, intelligent and germane comments but his comment last night regarding our desire for independence was at another level. Marc needs to be a regular contributor.

My thoughts on Alberta Independence? I again will say that a referendum will not be needed. The house of cards will start to crumble in earnest November 4th.

  4. I’m saddened by all this, I truly am. I have two thoughts currently wrestling for control in my head.

    1. Carney is grossly incompetent on a level with Trudeau…but he sat as chairman for Brookfield Asset Management so he can’t be a total blithering idiot…can he? Mention “asset” to Trudeau and he instinctively thinks about the female anatomy.

    2. He’s a WEF globalist, watermelon puppet (red inside, green outside) and everything is going as planned which is to utterly tank the economy. And if he and his partners can make a few bucks while it unfolds all the better, transforming Canada into a resource rich district, chock full of mouth breathers and ripe for plundering by oligarchs.

I deride the dumber than a box of rocks “Elbows Up” crowd whenever the opportunity arises but I’m putting this squarely on the shoulders of the media who literally, yes literally, made it happen.
    Going with #2

    1. “so he can’t be a total blithering idiot…can he?”

No. He can’t. It’s a scam. International banksters, most likely propped up by Chicom money, pillaging the West.

Ever notice how we all get poorer every year? And international banks all get richer every year? That’s not an accident.

    2. I thought Trump clearly described the OBVIOUS … that America and Canada are both in the same business … as competitors. We are competing over the same jobs. However! As Trump also clearly explained … America is a MUCH BIGGER market … hence America has the leverage on our side. That’s IT … in two simple, obvious statements.

The best Carney could ever hope for is to split the marketplace 70-30 (yeah, Canada is the 30 this time).

  5. Carney’s trip to Washington was pointless. He is a total moron if he did not understand this before he left. It was more Trudeau type virtue signalling in the hope that Trump would give him a crumb with which the Liberal media could promote as a big win for Canada.

Carney has always been a bureaucrat where he could demand and underlings would obey.

He has now put on a political hat , with no experience in either government or private business negotiations. You don’t go to a meeting with someone like Trump , by crawling through the door on your hands and knees … which is essentially what he did … he came begging.

In any negotiation , you must have some form of leverage , either something the other side wants or wants you to do .. apparently Carney had neither. I we had effective pipelines which could switch sending oil to USA to other markets , that would have been a big bargaining chip , but they don’t exist , so no leverage there.

Carney had no bargaining chip … end of story.

    1. “He is a total moron if he did not understand this before he left.”

      Nope. That is not true.

Bro got every single thing he wanted. He wanted more #OrangeManBad TDS fuel, and he got it. He’s -winning-.

He just didn’t get anything -you- wanted.

When you finally understand he and the rest of government don’t care what you want, and they’re going to take everything you’ve got and give you back nothing, then all this will make sense.

      1. “He wanted more #OrangeManBad TDS fuel, and he got it.”

Absolutely. So 80 percent of the country is happy, and Pee-pee & Co. can’t hurl stones.

        1. Ditto re: uber street smart The Phantom’s comment.

And see mine at 1:25 re: the plausible theory that Trump and Carnage may be working in cahoots.

  6. “ U.S. President Donald Trump lavished praise on Carney during a meeting in the Oval Office on Tuesday and said the prime minister would walk away “very happy.””

Of course he went away happy …. just like Trump told him to.

The subtext of this is what Trump didn’t say

“Ok the photo ops over, if you want to stick around to flog the dead horse and receive a beat down for your efforts you get to leave very unhappy”

  7. One YouTuber has often wondered if The Donald and Marx Carnage were in cahoots with the objective of destroying Canada. Carnage has about 90+ % of his 500+ holdings in the US.
And, is this one of my nightmares?: he called Carnage a “great man”. Even “good man” would be insulting; in my opinion, he is evil incarnate

  8. Elbows really down. Trump wants Keystone XL revived. This would tie Alberta even more to US markets which I think is actually a good thing as this would be quicker cash flow than some hypothetical pipeline through BC.

Should I continue to not buy US strawberries? Will this make a difference?
