Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Eby (starts with C and rhymes with hunt) is trying to run interference.
BC Premier Eby Says Alberta’s Pipeline Pitch to Major Projects Office ‘Not a Real Project’
https://link.theepochtimes.com/mkt_app/world/bc-premier-eby-says-albertas-pipeline-pitch-to-major-projects-office-not-a-real-project-5923561?utm_medium=app&c=share_pos1&pid=iOS_app_share&utm_source=iOS_app_share
Eby is full of crap. There are NOT billions of private sector projects ready in BC. Nobody with any sense would put a dime into that province.
Maybe the BC pipelines that cross Alberta to the U.S. should be shut down.
To start Eby is a piece of dog excrement however I don’t think Smith is much better. She had to know what Eby’s reaction would be. I think she’s to tied up in playing political games.
Smith is infinitely better than Eby. Eby is just another green freak much like that ass Guilbeault. Eby’s reaction isn’t important because in reality Eby has no jurisdiction.
I said Smith is better than Eby just not by much. I think she knew full well what Eby’s reaction was going to be and if she didn’t then she’s dumber than a table leg
Isn’t Smith the one that killed the wild rose party?
I think Smith is in it for the excitement of being in the lime light.
As long as she keeps kissing eastern ass she keeps seperation going.
I don’t think that’s what she wants.
By the way from a BC er
GOWEXIT
She is much, MUCH better than Eby. At least she knows the division of jurisdiction in terms of interprovincial pipelines. She is playing it smart….there are many cards to be played yet in this game…..next year will tell the tale when Canada gets hammered in the USMCA renegotiations.
Meanwhile … Warren Buffet goes BULLISH on US petrochemicals!!

And here’s where I remind you that the Dow has popped up +500 points in trading today … soaring over 47,000 points!
Ohhhhhhhhhhh Mommmaaaaaaaa … the tariffs … the tariffs … Smoot Hawley! 1929! Depression!
Despite … despite! The Dem’s meaningless act of RESISTance in “shutting down” our government. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Mommmaaaaaaaa… our credit rating … our credit rating. Hahahahaha ha ha
Maybe the Dow is rising BECAUSE of the government shut down. Large federal governments are the reason for poor economic performance.
I think it’ because of Kenji’s Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Mommmaaaaaaaa rallying cry.
Hahahahaha ha ha
Indeed, it would require a heart of stone not to respond to that rouser.
anybody know what the impediment is to going south across the USA border and sell it to them and or continue with the pipline now to the nearest american port for export?
It’s pronounced “Keystone XL.” Approved by Harper, approved by Trump, fought by protesters and in the courts, killed by Obama, killed by Biden, killed by Montana Judge Brian Morris. The prospects of another attempt at that are even less than getting a pipeline through Quebec.
Any pipeline crossing the international border is federally regulated. So the impediment is Carney. All south bound export lines go to the Gulf Coast, so difficult to get to a US West Coast port.
That is true as far as it goes but if the feds were to not allow a pipeline straight out of Alberta into the U.S., the mask would be off completely. Of course to then head west to a Pacific Coast would be met with the lunatics in Oregon and Washington State. That is, if the Greater Idaho project didn’t succeed.
Bingo. Why is the Port of Vancouver so busy shipping coal? Because the State of Washington won’t allow it to be exported from that state.
A pipeline through BC has zero chance of being built under current political conditions – eby, indians, Trudeau/Carney et al want to see Alberta and its corporate partners waste money on this, but in the end, the very best we could hope to get would be transmountain II: budget $7 Billion and 2 years; actual 34 billion and 14 years.

Here’s a bit from my submission to the Alberta Next Panel (see paul530.substack.com for the whole thing):
***
And then, of course, there are financial actions you could take. Two easy examples:
1 – when Biden unilaterally cancelled the Keystone II expansion project various players sued for compensation but all were denied largely because the Trudeau government sided with Biden et al. The Trump administration could be asked to revive Keystone II through an executive order defining the line as a national security priority while setting permits and processes on the American side to the status quo ante and agreeing to a fair financial settlement of past claims to be paid out when and if, and only then and if, the project enters service within a short time period such as 21 months.
Notice that this would include free movement of the people, products, and services needed to build, test, and operate the line – thus strengthening the Trump administration’s position just before the new NAFTA negotiations begin, giving Ontario premier Ford and Prime Minister Carney – both of whom recently won elections by running against Trump – the metaphorical finger, and all while further ensuring American energy security and creating nearly 30,000 temporary jobs, (and another 3,000 or so permanent ones) mainly in the western states.
tq all for such a comprehensive answer. clear to see the impediments.
idjits both sides of the border. and points west.
It’s pretty clear to me that there won’t be pipelines allowed to go East or West.. Unless my ears deceive me that is what the leaders of Quebec and BC are telling us . So who would invest a dime to try?
Let this broke joke of a shithole country implode, and deal with whatever comes next, it can’t be worse, or if it is write it off.
Eby knows it will never be built so he’s correct.
The pipeline moist certainly be built. Smith wants it, she’s trying everything she can think of to get it.
To no avail.
Carney refuses to repeal the no-more-pipelines bill, or the emissions cap on oil and gas production or the tanker ban. He has said he will not force a pipeline over the objections of a province or first nations.
So no private sector company will ever build one in Canada again. Even if the Conservatives were elected and repealed all the restrictions. Because they know if the Liberal/NDP were returned to power before the pipeline was completed, they would immediately re-impose all the restrictions and the pipeline construction would be shut down, their billions of investment would be gone.
The pipeline moist certainly be built? How did I let that get away?
What I thought I wrote was, The pipeline most certainly should be built.
