The Great Divide in America

This Change.org petition is very interesting:

More than 2.4 million people have signed a Change.org petition calling for clemency for Harjinder Singh, a 28-year-old truck driver facing vehicular homicide charges after a fatal Florida Turnpike crash.

Singh of Stockton, California, and a native of India was denied bond on Saturday and faces up to 45 years in prison after allegedly making an illegal U-turn with his tractor-trailer on August 12, resulting in three deaths. He was arrested by U.S. Marshals in California last Saturday.

The petition, created by “Collective Punjabi youth,” specifically asks Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to reduce Singh’s potential sentence if convicted.

In response to the petition, DeSantis’ deputy press secretary Molly Best told Newsweek on Sunday: “No deal. In Florida, criminal actions have consequences.”

Turns out there are numerous such petitions. Gad Saad correctly identified this as suicidal empathy.

Update: Here’s the “big” petition. The names of those signing i are being displayed by Change.org. It’s disappointing, but not surprising, to see that most are Indian names. It’s so sad to realize that all of these people DO NOT CARE whatesoever about those innocent people who were killed by this man’s abject carelessness.

Update 2: The mystery deepens about this petition.

  1. Since they are freely offering up their identity, go through them and find out who is deserving of deportation.

  2. It doesn’t matter if he was in the US legally, or the legality of his California CDL. His illegal u turn killed 3 in Florida. 3 X 15 years is 45 years in jail.

I do feel bad for him, but if I did it?

    1. ICE will be deporting quite a few bots. Likely only 30-40% of those signatures are real.. at best..

  3. The first posted comment of the petition reflects the libtard mentality. Almost as classic as “do you think these people chose to be addicted?” Yeah, libtards are that stupid.

I made the mistake of signing a change.org petition in the past. Right after I was inundated with requests to support all sorts of far-left and total whack-job initiatives.

  4. Drove to Calgary and back this week. We have a new game to pass the time now. When we come up to a truck we guess if the driver is Indian or not.

      1. This “community” of Punjabis or whatever are subhuman pigs. Full stop. There is no HUMAN justification for this demand for clemency. It’s subhuman. Pigs. These people are filthy pigs with absolutely no respect for human life.

Lest you call me a racist or any such go-to garbage … I also don’t believe in clemency for the Menendez brothers either. Murderers must be held maximally responsible for their crimes.

        1. “Lest you call me a racist…”

It is a bit much to paint an entire culture with that ‘subhuman pig’ brush for the actions of one guy. Why not slander all Hispanics for the Menendez brothers?

How about we take them one at a time, on a case-by-case basis?

          1. Did I misunderstand that there were MILLIONS of signatures on this “save the killer” petition… primarily from his “community”?

Like Trump, I don’t stutter or sugarcoat crap … when crap gets dropped on my culture.

  5. This is clearly criminal negligence. Put him away for a long time. The family (s) should sue the $#!+ out of the trucking company that employed him. They are negligent for hiring an unqualified driver. Easy win.

    1. The company will turn out to be Sikh owned and operated. Sikhs have a tendency to not complain about working 26 hours a day and being away from home 8 days a week.
There are anecdotal stories of service centres refusing to do work on Sikh operated tractors. They are set up like the train to New Delhi. The entire underside is coated in excrement.

      1. I have friends who own a truck service center, their mechanics often puke when they have to service these tractors. They will have four guys living in them, turning tires 24/7, the only stops are for fuel and oil changes, the smell is apparently unbearable. They call them 4 paks.

    2. “The family (s) should sue the $#!+ out of the trucking company that employed him.”

Bold of you to assume there is any sort of real company there, except on paper. The “company” owner is back in India already, I have no doubt. Probably caught the first flight after he got the phone call.

  6. How about a 7 year sentence as a NHTSA crash test dummy, to improve trailer safety so that this never happens again?

  7. This was not an accident, it was outright execution. And enough with the “allegedly” BS.
BTW Jared Polis is an asshole, and one of the worst things to ever happen to Colorado. If you want your government screwed up and your lifestyle destroyed, permit Californians to gain positions of power.

  8. Put the fcker in Alligator Alcatraz for One Night.
Then on Night Two tell the halfwit he’s free to leave, Trump pardoned him.
He’s just gotta carry a bucket of chicken offal with him and feed the neighborhood cats on his walk out…

  9. I’m a compassionate guy. I understand this was a mistake. How be Singh simply return the lives he stole and we call it even.

    1. “Mistake”? If I deliberately and purposely jerked the steering wheel of my suv left, while driving 60-70 mph in the right lane across all lanes on a crowded freeway … would you call that an “accident”?

BTW … did you see how that tractor-trailer was sliding as it was turning across the hwy? The maneuver was SO reckless … the trailer was sliding sideways!

        1. Mike … I understood. I just want to disabuse any suggestion this was a traffic “accident”. Accidents, by definition, don’t occur … on purpose.

      1. They drive the wrong way down the 401 around here. Like, all the time. Every month a new one.

The 401 is the busiest highway in North America, California highways do not carry close to the same volume of traffic. But there they are, cruising down the 401, in an 18 wheeler, going the wrong freaking way, on purpose. Because the correct direction has a traffic jam, or some other idiot reason. Yes, that’s right. They also drive around in dump trucks with the box still up. One of ’em took out the Skyway Bridge a couple years ago like that. Other drivers tried to get him to stop, and he would not. Bang, oopsie. I did not hear that dump truck bro got deported. He’s probably still driving.

“…did you see how that tractor-trailer was sliding as it was turning across the hwy?”

Did you check the look on his face when the minivan hit his trailer, and he said “tsk”? Bro definitely thought about rolling over that van and driving away, for sure. Certainly dragged it a ways.

          1. The 405! I used to drive that beast (and the i5, the 110, the 710…) all the way from Laguna Niguel to Pasadena and back. Everyday. White knuckle driving. But things moved well and I only saw a truck lose the load once!

        1. Yet, it was a white driver I had to contend with on the 401. Having to speed through construction zones but no faster than the car in front of me. For 20 miles all I saw in the rear view was the hood ornament of his truck not the grill. He was that close. When he finally went around he glared the whole time.

  10. “It’s so sad to realize that all of these people DO NOT CARE whatesoever..”

Wait until the majority of the Canadian citizenry are EI and the natives come a-cryin’ for money and find out the same!

  11. Saw a short piece about the Century Initiative (100,000 pop. by 2100) the other day. INDIA is the key targeted source for newcomers; the rationale being that there are a lot of them, that they were Great Britain colonized and that they speak English (oh yeah?!).

    1. “a charity focused on increasing canada’s population to 100 million by 2100.”
Yeah, let’s call it a charity and not a replacement.
Its like calling a chunk of shit a chocolate drop.

  12. The worst thing about that video was the complete lack of any emotion as he watched the vehicle hit his trailer. Not horror, not surprise, not anger…not even amusement. Nothing.

Lock him up for years, then deport him.

  13. Numerous petitions, yes, but at last count there were 34 Go-Fund-Me pages. Interesting thing though, the among all of the pages I could only see two donations totaling $40.00. Petitions only require outrage, but parting with there own money is much more difficult.

    1. Holy shit! ALL driver/carrier error. ALL carrier suspended. Based on this list … there shouldn’t be a carrier left standing in BC! But as a video showed yesterday … they will just create a new carrier under a new name tomorrow.

  14. My take:

1). We need to stop the use of foreign, non-English-speaking, poorly trained H-2b drivers who will undercut American drivers for the job; and

2). Careless drivers kill every day, and their nationality really makes little difference to the dead. This guy was careless as hell and deserves punishment.

But these are two separate concepts.

  15. I’m a little surprised at some of the comments.
This was a Dick move by the trucker.
The violation(s) was as dangerous as it was deliberate.
    3 counts vehicular homicide. 45 years (consecutive 15s), 30 k in fines.
Parole eligible after 22.5 years of good behavior.
