  1. Two points:

    1. I wish Trump would quit bragging about results before they happen.
    2. That Zelenskyy is not part of these talks is absurd.

    1. Zelensky is the puppet

The ones that are the problem are the ones that were compromised by Biden.

      1. Yeah, why should Ukraine have any say over their future? It’s none of their business.

        1. As far as the US and NATO are concerned, Ukraine has never been anything more than a stick to beat the Russians. The Ukrainians have made themselves the Palestinians of Europe.

          1. You talk as if Ukrainians have no free will,

They voluntarily defended themselves against Russian invasion. They begged (and still beg) NATO for weapons to do so.

          2. “As far as the US and NATO are concerned, Ukraine has never been anything more than a stick to beat the Russians. The Ukrainians have made themselves the Palestinians of Europe.”

Exactly. They practically begged to be invaded, allowing NATO and western business/political interests to continually exploit them against the Russians (easily done, given the widespread corruption of the government). The ‘invasion’ didn’t start in 2022, the seeds of it were sown shortly after 1991 and it became inevitable in 2014.

          3. Fred, Fred, Fred … it’s not an “invasion” … it’s a “minor incursion”. Which is just another example of why Biden was put on such a short leash and hidden away from view. He can’t be blurting out Jake Sullivan’s Harvard-level strategeries.

          4. Ukrainians fled by the Millions, to avoid recruitment as cannon fodder, because they LOATHED the Cocaine Midget.
Yes, this was a proxy war by the NeoCons, the AutoPen, and the Nuland cabal.
The Ukes continue to lose, now kidnapping women, young teens and old men to become cannon fodder, in a Failing enterprise.
Zelensky is the biggest killer of Ukrainians!
There are none so blind that shall not see!

    2. Yeah, and you wish that the COVID vaccine was safe and effective. Zelenskyyyyyyy will be part of the talks at the appropriate time. Your understanding of reality is absurd.

      1. He’s a Liberal troll, states it’s a ‘conservative’, but everything it states is dogmatic Liberal bullshit.

        1. Not ten year ago most of my views would have been considered staunchly conservative.

But Trump supporters have slid into a strange kind of hero-worshipping populism, and denounce any views they disagree with as “dogmatic Liberal bullshit”, even when it’s nothing like liberal.

          1. It’s a topic that conservatives can disagree about. It’s just that I don’t fancy seeing mushroom clouds over North Dakota because we declared kneejerk solidarity with what remains of Europe.

          2. Automatically caving to any nation that has nuclear weapons is not a realistic foreign policy.

          3. Not ten year ago most of my views would have been considered staunchly conservative.

It’s called evolving … examining past failures and NOT repeating them.

Not 10 years ago the “conservatives” ran “moderate” Mittens Romney and John McCain for president. Yes. Absolutely. We have EVOLVED.

          4. Kenji: Except what Trump is doing ain’t conservativism by any definition. It’s a hodge podge of policies that defies categorization. You may think it’s great. To me look it looks like cult-like hero worship, which rarely ends well.

    3. “Two points:

      1. I wish Trump would quit bragging about results before they happen.”

Me too. His Tweeting habit has always driven me nuts, along with his incessant name-calling and apparently thin skin (and the fake tan doesn’t help). That said, I would vote for him in a heartbeat if I were American; I don’t need to like his personality to respect him, and I care far more about what he *does* than what he says. Those who don’t take him seriously usually regret it.

“2. That Zelenskyy is not part of these talks is absurd.”

No, it is CRUCIAL. Like Hamas, Zelensky is an obstacle to peace, not the solution. And also like Hamas, he will be worked around, if necessary, to achieve that peace.

    4. Did you not SEE how Zelensky made a shitshow out of his February meeting in the White House!? The penis puppeteer doesn’t know how to conduct himself. He’d have scuttled any discussion before it even started … he’d be screaming “War Criminal!” at Putin believing he was giving a speech at the EU or something.

This was a Trump-brokered PEACE that Zelensky can either take, reject, or propose reasonable modifications. Trump said very clearly … he did not stutter … that the final decision is completely up to Zelensky … and to a lesser degree European leaders.

However, mark my words. If Zelensky scuttles this agreement, or struts and preens like some perpetual victim in need of sympathy … his days will be numbered. His retirement plans for his Southern FL Oceanside estate will be scuttled. There will be a snap election … not engineered by the CIA … and the beleaguered Ukrainian people will FINALLY have their say.

    1. It reminds of Neville Chamberlain meeting with Adolph Hitler in September 1938 without any Czechoslovakians present, where they agreed to the cession of the Sudetenland.

And war is preferable over Russia taking over Ukraine.

      1. “War is preferable ” … what a childish comment.
There is little of Ukraine not destroyed in the eastern areas because of that kind of pigheadedness.
Folks like you are prepared to sleepwalk into a conflict involving all of Europe.

        1. killer unMe is NOT the sharpest knife in the drawer, even when in the spoon drawer.
As Joseph pointed out, zelenskyy is only a puppet. So he is irreverent to the ‘peace’ talks

        2. Did Chamberlain ceding Czechoslovakia prevent WW II? No, likely the opposite. It emboldened Hitler.

          1. Gotta keep pushing women, young teens and old men to the front lines as cannon fodder.
            Nazis gonna Nazi.

      2. War is preferable?
Spoken like a true chickensh*t arm chair warrior hiding in his basement. Go to Ukraine and pick up an AK-47, otherwise STFU, you sniveling little coward.

        1. If peace is preferable, why are you not berating Putin — who sits safe in his Kremlin fortress — for not unilaterally withdrawing from Ukraine today? That would end the war immediately.

          1. No….your viewpoint is simply skewed because you have absolutely ZERO idea what is going on in the discussions. You seem to believe that Trump and Putin were going to make the deal….but Trump is not party to the deal, he is mediating the deal. Now shove off and get a couple more COVID boosters.

        1. “You have to adjust your viewpoint because it is seriously skewed.”

Trying to educate him on the facts is like attempting to teach algebra to a dog.

          1. Fly to Ukraine and fight, you courageous armchair soldier.
            Such a brave little rodent!
C’mon, what’s stopping you? AC is back to work already.
Fight the good fight now, little narrative comrade!

Or, you just another phony keyboard warrior? YUP.

          2. It’s not a matter of daring. He would not waste words to a face like yours, he’d smack it with the sack of wet cement that common sense would require. Then we’d see rare battle indeed. And then you’d whine. No matter who won.

      3. “…taking over Ukraine.” ?? So you’ve not seen the map of newly liberated Russian land in Eastern Ukraine? A map that’s looked pretty much the same for 3-years? A map that will force modification of the European map for all schoolchildren throughout the world. A cautionary map that tells tales of an utterly corrupt nation doing the bidding of the CIA and a crooked US Deep State?

I noted to the wife that in just the last WEEK … I’ve suddenly started hearing … for the very first time in this War … the politicians talking of a “land swap”. Yeah … the public is being conditioned for Putin TAKING what he TOOK back from the corrupt Slava-Ukrania Biden shitshow. Conditioned. I suggest you … please make a note of it. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

        1. Putin wants to take over the entirety of Ukraine. That’s his idea of a peace treaty.

          1. Yeah … and Trump would be signing off on that … Unh huh …
Do you Slava-Ukrainia ribbon wearers even hear yourselves talk?

          2. And when Zelensky rejects it all … there will suddenly be a presidential election in Ukraine. Zelensky has ONE job to do. The PEACE has been laid at his feet.

          3. Putin wants a complete annexation of Ukraine now, or at worst a partial annexation with conditions ensuring that Russia can complete the job later. In particular, Ukraine will not be allowed to join NATO.

            That’s Putin’s idea of peace.

          4. Pssst … KM … the operable phrase is: “land swap”. That’s the sanitized version of “Putin’s keeping what Putin took”. Nothing more. Nothing less. He’s taken jussssst about a “minor incursion’s worth” of Ukraine.

That’s the PENALTY Ukraine is paying for partnering with Biden, Jake Sullivan and Victoria Nuland. Sleep with the dogs … get fleas.

      4. If you’re a complete idiot, then everything reminds you of Neville Chamberlain, since there’s nothing else in your empty head to remind you of. But, your wish for Ukrainians to die is duly noted. And the good news, you can probably look forward to a fine pile of corpses by Christmas!

          1. It’s called realpolitik, you deal with who you have to. You ok with Roosevelt and Churchill meeting Stalin at Yalta? I don’t recall Germans being mentioned as there, nor Canada, etc. etc. That was reality. Zelensky is irrelevant.

          2. “When did SDA denizens become such Putin toadies?”

We didn’t. We are just sick of your endless TDS-inspired trolling. Like your compatriots down south, you seem to take pride in being on the wrong side of all the 80/20 issues.

No? Name me two things that Donald Trump has done correctly, then.

          3. Therrrrrrre it is! Finally … your go-to slander.

Here’s my belief about International relations:

Each nation is unique and its people unique. I respect their unique characteristics so long as they aren’t marrying-off 8yo girls, or slaughtering Christians. They are entitled to maintain their National identity as different and distinct from mine.

Each leader must be dealt with directly. Like it or not. All this squishy “Diplomacy” of communique’, Demarche’, Dispatch, and Protocol is crap. Speaking person to person is best.

        1. You like the way Russia is being run? It’s an empirialist dictatorship without real democracy or individual rights, essentially a 21-century fascist regime responsible for the needless deaths of at least half a million people.

          1. “You like the way Russia is being run? It’s an empirialist dictatorship without real democracy or individual rights, essentially a 21-century fascist regime.”

            So just like Ukraine, then?

          2. Killer M – I really do like the way Russia is being run. Life is better in many ways in Russia than it is in Canada. I know, having made about 16 trips there, starting in the early ’90s. You seem like a person open to new experiences – would you come for a visit? That is probably the only way that you will be able to escape a lifetime of Russophobic propaganda.

          3. Great. So what are you proposing? Some nation building in Russia? Some CIA color Revolution in Russia? Some Regime Change in Russia? I believe you do. You haven’t evolved past Bush declaring “Mission Accomplished” when he had NO BLOODY idea what the “mission” was. So now Iraq is a shitshow. As is Libya. As is Syria becoming rapidly.

Son … all those ideas are soooooo 1990’s. Tried. Failed. Cost a shitload of lives and treasure. I’m willing to let Russia be Russia … Russia do Russia. We goaded Russia into invading Ukraine. That was another mistake that Trump keeps insisting would NEVER have happened if he were President … which is why the Deep State unleashed COVID … changed the way we do elections via Mail in ballots, illegals registered to vote, and a 30-day voting “period”. You want to call Putin an Empirialist? What do you call the US Deep State and totally rogue Intelligence Agencies in America who STOLE an American election to STOP Trump … and even tried to assassinate him … multiple times.

Yeah … the Deep State “Empirialists” are far worse … far more invisibly subversive than Putin ever was

  2. I’m pleased that the Trump Admin. people are continuing to keep the media in the dark as to what is actually in the works. The BBC coverage immediately after the Alaska summit meeting was exactly what I expected.
And from X/Twitter.. small bits of info to feed us doughy crumbles of optimism, and then the full pie at the start of a news week.
    nice.

Steven Bannon talking about this today in his opening 30 minutes on War Room, reminding us of the Rush Limbaugh – Trump conversation which took place early in the 45th Admin. Limbaugh saying, there isn’t anything you can do legislatively, executively, with law or policy, that will stop the media from hating you. Trump understood this, and it’s been nearly codified in these past 5 years.

  3. President Dumb Donald Bonehead is working on getting a nomination and winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

    1. Not everyone argues President Donald J. Trump is “dumb” while he works to end another President’s war, while being the man who brought the warring sides together in order to get this work done and has evaded all peace talks from the “various other heads of state”

At it for about 20 hours yesterday… 3am in DC, not falling down the stairs, having called the “various other heads of state” who have failed in the past 4 years, to gain tentative security agreement. Posobiec said this AM that Trump was on the phone for most of the 6 hours airtime after the Alaska summit, and staying on the (secure) phones after landing in order to finish those phone calls prior to transferring to the motorcade car.
      https://x.com/JackPosobiec/status/1956609950551019813

Calls to the heads of NATO, Germany, UK… a few others, but nobody is mentioning that tier 2 Canada is involved or consulted on this file, it’s just not something that Marx Carnage has any expertise in.
There’s no #Librano money in it… so no need to pick up that phone.

The Nobel Peace Prize? Maybe, but there are doubts, which awarding it to anyone else this year would say a lot more about the Nobel Committee than anything we could possibly say about Trump this year.

      1. The Nobel is of little value; after all, Obama got one, and he’s the clown who engineered the Ukrainian election.

        1. “The Nobel is of little value; after all, Obama got one, ”

So did Yassir Arafat. It’s been a joke for decades now.

“and he’s the clown who engineered the Ukrainian election.”

Everyone seems to overlook that, don’t they?

        2. I’m torn between the uselessness of Obama’s Nobel and 2007 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change / Al Gore, instead of Irena Sendler, though Oprah Winfrey was nominated that year too.
PLO leader Yassar Arafat in 1994 … oh yeah…

          1. “PLO leader Yassar Arafat in 1994 … oh yeah…”

There was actually another terrorist honoured by them years before Arafat, but no one remembers his name. And of course Barack Obama received the Nobel for being the first black US President, despite having not actually *done* anything to deserve it in the weeks before his nomination was announced.

    2. I’ll tell you what I would do if I were Trump … I’d pull a Bob Dylan. When they award him the prize … which appears inevitable … don’t show up. The award has been so mangled by absurd recipients to render it an utter JOKE. I wouldn’t dignify their fraudulent award.

WORLD PEACE is its own reward. Period.
Dylan’s timeless genius is its own reward. Period.

That’s the world of Donald Trump. The REAL world. Not the world of pomp and preening politicians.

      1. The parallels between Trump and Dylan are significant. They are both iconoclasts who don’t conform to anyone’s molds, nay “institutions”. They both speak TRUTH … at times hard, cold, uncomfortable truths.

Here’s Dylan’s epic poem of human train wreckage that comes from false pride, preening, and posturing. All the things that Trump calls out in similarly BLUNT, if not nearly as acerbic words as Dylan’s. All supposedly “superior” people chock full of pride go before a fall. Trump … and reality … has kicked these FRAUDS to the curb.

        https://youtu.be/IwOfCgkyEj0?si=262EGBLhd_B7s2Yk

Genius. Pure lyrical (and musical) genius. The electric guitar fills and organ fills are brilliant. Trump is also a lyrical genius as he works tirelessly to set the world straight.

      2. You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat
Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat
Ain’t it hard when you discover that?
He really wasn’t where it’s at
After he took from you everything he could steal?

Trump has shown that our CIA, our State Department diplomats and Haaaarvard educated phony’s like Jake Sullivan … weren’t really where it’s at. And yeah … they all stole everything they could steal of laundered American tax receipts.

      3. ” The award has been so mangled by absurd recipients to render it an utter JOKE. I wouldn’t dignify their fraudulent award.”

        Well said, Kenji.

“That’s the world of Donald Trump. The REAL world. Not the world of pomp and preening politicians.”

That one as well. I judge President Donald Trump by what he *does*, not what he says. He has accomplished more in the last few months than other Presidents have in the last few decades.

    3. Dumb NB dolt pretends to be intelligent.
Don’t go in the woods, comrade! Follow your Karen leader!

I wouldn’t mind being so dumb as to amass a $10Billion fortune.
      How about you, Canucklehead?

      1. @ ByTheSea: I am trying to get by on my pensions. I wasn’t born into a rich family like Dumb Moron Donald. Trump is a total dummy and moron with regard to running a country and dealing with world affairs. Why don’t you actually listen to the blithering idiot when he gives press conferences. If you actually nod your head in agreement with the crap that comes out of his little mouth, then you are pathetic. Trump is a total embarrassment to the USA. The voters for him are the cause of the ruination of a great nation. Now go give your head a shake and bang it several times against a steel post. Maybe some sense will be knocked into you. PS: Now in saying all that, I am aware the Dems are no prize.

        1. Jesus wept!
          You’re still posting here!?
You should be cleaning you’re pellet rifle and prepping for the American invasion.

  4. A lot of you are missing what’s really going on here. The EU tried to influence the meeting with Putin by speaking in a group to Trump in advance. I’m sure their message was centered around an assumed Cease Fire. Cease Fires are easily broken by an orchestrated event, and if you think the EU isn’t self-interested and “evil” enough to have a hand in said “event” you are naive.

Trump circumvented their “advice” by bypassing a negotiation for a Cease Fire completely. Instead, he’s going for a Peace Treaty. I suspect Zelenskyy will get one chance to approach this scenario reasonably. If he stalls, obfuscates, or delays without honest consideration, I suspect Zelenskyy will be replaced by forcing Ukraine to drop martial law and hold national elections. He’s not as popular in Ukraine as the media would have you believe.

When Zelenskyy arrives at the White House on Monday, pay close attention to what he’s wearing. I suspect Mr. Track Suit will be sporting a nice suit and tie on Monday.

  5. In 2017 I was a director of an oil and gas company based in Texas and we were sued by one of our suppliers. Our contract called for mediation by an independent person who was appointed to our case. We met at a neutral location all together in one room. After the basic rules and hoped outcomes were discussed we were divided into 2 groups (our group in one room with a mediator and their group in another room also with a mediator).

During separate mediation we wrote down on a white board the main issues from our side, starting with the major points first. We then regrouped as one with the white boards side-by-side. The mediator noted that both sides had written down about 6 main points. The mediator then attempted to delete one item from each board starting at the bottom. Both sides immediately erupted in objections and after a long period of arguing the mediator broke up the meeting and recommended litigation (this is why you don’t negotiate with Putin and Zelensky in the same room).

A week later I picked up the phone and called the owner of the supply company. I attempted to explain the cost and delay of litigation and how it would be far better to agree to a settlement between us. He was adamant for full payment and extra costs. We ended the call courteous but with no agreement. I called this man once a week at the same time for the next four weeks. By the fifth week I had a deal. The biggest issue was understanding who this guy was (very technical) and having an understanding as to why he was so stubborn to settle (we had insulted him).

Of course settling one side is just the start of the deal. The other guy (who hired me) wasn’t very happy with the deal and felt betrayed. I had to handle that differently (appealing to his greed) in order to get him to agree to the final terms. The day the signed agreement hit our office was the day my contract ended (Trump won’t be loved by either Ukraine or Russia when peace arrives).

Trump handled Zelensky as a moron, a puppet, at the White House. He knocked him down a few notches to remind Zelensky (Ukraine) they are the conceding country if they want peace. Trump handled Putin with respect but also showed strength (we meet in my country, my air force will fly over, but I respect you). After the meeting Trump made several phone calls to the wallflowers in Europe so that they can feel important even if they aren’t part of the negotiations.

I hope Trump gets a cease fire and I hope he doesn’t get a Nobel Peace Prize (to show how political and useless that has become). When he retires he will write an epic book that many will criticize as untrue. I’d like to believe the banker boxes he left at Mara Logo were confidential files that implicated the Democrats as a warning to stand down if he got in for a second term. The only way for a trick like that to work is if they were confiscated by the government. So they know he knows. That would explain why the Democrats have been so quiet.

We are in the 2nd inning of a very interesting ball game.

  6. Let’s not forget the other, most important point, not noted.
Not only is Z having to concede, but,
The US has been paying the vast majority of the financing of this “war”. It’s not even close.

He should be kissing his ass that TRUMP didn’t cut up the credit card by January 31st.

  7. Yesterday, I posted a reply to @Katewerk’s post about this summit saying that the media fail to recognize historic moments when they happen because they can only see narratives, and are blind to the now. Today, Kate proved this was true by asking Grok if the CBC followed Marco Rubio on X.

They don’t, of course, which is why they are missing key information about what’s going on. They don’t care: they have their story, and they’re sticking to it until it becomes impossible to maintain, at which point they’ll simply turn their attention elsewhere.

I would have loved to have seen their chagrin if they had heard President Putin say this: “Today, when President Trump was saying that if he was the president back then, there would be no war—and I’m quite sure that it would indeed be so. I can confirm that.”

That’s the great thing about being a Liberal journalist: never having to see what you don’t want to believe.

  8. I see that Sir Starmer is ready to go with putting British troops in Ukraine to ‘support the ceasefire’, or at least the British government is banging on that pot again.

But Russia is now talking no ceasefire, straight to peace agreement.
By the way, a potential return to economic relations between the U.S. and Russia (and by extension Belorussia, our President and Lukashenko had a bit of a talk as well, likely something that went unnoticed but shouldn’t be), anyway, a return to those relations might not bode well for Canada’s (or the Crown’s) best interests. That I’ll grant you some reason for potential butthurt.
History is fun…a name for you: Cassius Marcellus Clay, interesting guy, a man of destiny even.

I’ve also noticed — again — that the ZPatriots!(TM) and the Nafo fellers!(TM) — don’t really disagree on anything. They are both most verklempt at the prospect of there being peace. Apparently there can never be enough dead or dismembered Ukrainians or Russians, never enough money taken from citizens to keep making sure said Ukrainians and Russians come into being. Funny that….who would want to keep a war going?
Neither of them seem to like my President much.

  9. Meeting uneventful? Might have had a lot to do with Trump meeting Putin’s double. The body language was not Putin and the face time with Trump was kept to a minimum. Putin just didn’t trust Trump. Paranoia strikes deep, especially with an international arrest warrant for crimes against humanity..
