The Calgary Real Estate Board says home sales in the city declined 11.6 per cent in July compared with last year as inventory grew to levels not seen since before the pandemic.
There were 3,911 new listings on the market last month, up 8.6 per cent from a year earlier, as the city’s inventory reached 6,917 homes for sale — a 66.1 per cent surge.

– “profiting” from Prop. 13 that limits my property taxes (I pay $12,500/yr. in property taxes)
They blamed homebuilders for not building more homes. Their “solution” is to do-away with Prop. 13 tax law protections for seniors and Jack up the Property taxes so high they’ll FORCE me out of my home. This is how the leftist monsters think. Funny thing … in 1979 when the State of CA was still half sane … and we passed Prop. 13 … we actually wanted to PROTECT our senior citizens who were being taxed OUT of their homes (it happened to my own grandparents) … we actually CARED for our elders and tried to improve their quality of life.

Of interest to note, for the edification of these #Boomer-haters, is that the US car market is also very extremely dead. Car lots are sitting with 500 days supply of vehicles rusting into their asphalt, because absolutely nobody is buying their over-priced crap.
