Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

holy hannah. mr president regardless of criticism past valid or not you have just redeemed yourself. and south korea, what a way to enrich that geographic bulwark against the current most insane head of state. third of a *trillion*
Canada seems years (and another election) away from making this sort of trade deal with the US.
Possibly after AB/Sask. separate, the remains of tier 2 Canada will be desperate to make any arrangement.
Regardless of the obvious gravy train that is being a #Librano cabinet minister, I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes.
As lovely as that thought is, it will never happen. Westerners are still Canadians, coward to the core, who will do nothing to cross mommy government.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh Mommmaaaaaaaaa …
Consumers will “pay the tariff”. “The tariff is a tax”. Jerome Powell is waiting for Trump’s tariff to cripple the American economy with a new round of Bidenesque inflation!! So he will keep interest rates at crippling highs … just to F-over Trump. My prediction? Jerome Powell doesn’t lower interest rates a single fraction until his term is up. Why? So he can be a Trump-RESISTor HERO at all the DC cocktail parties. Oh … and brag about how he “greened-up” the Fed Offices … yeah … “greened” them up … with $100 bill wallpaper.
Imagine if Biden had made this deal. The US would be giving South Korea a billion dollars and agreeing to buy several billion dollars of useless solar panels and Korean manufactured EVs.
Huh, I wouldn’t have imagined this.
I hear rumors that there’s a surprising amount of sneaky Chinese influence in South Korea and I wonder if the democracy might destabilize. It might have been nice to get more involved like that.
But also for the American side, I wonder if real middle class (you know, the type that are called ‘rich’ by the left) will benefit from the investment.
Or maybe I’m just becoming overly suspicious by habit. Give Trump a win? Meh.
“I wonder if real middle class will benefit from the investment.”
You do realize the “investment” will be in a Trump Tower.
All the terms of the deal were likely already satisfied. It’s just Korea flattering Trump as the greatest president ever, just like North Korea’s Kim. None of these silly deals will pass in the Senate. They will never come up for vote in the Senate. They are deals in Trump’s head only. Nobody buys American cars because they are perceived as shit. The world prefers Mercedes to Buicks.
$5-6 Trillion and climbing?
And that’s before he rips Carney’s elbows off!
It may be $10 Trillion if he learns just how big a skim that Quebec gets.

S.Korean products I have in my home:
Navian: nat. gas tankless water heater – fantastic product with built-in smart recirc pump.
Inus: powered bidet toilet seat. Impulse buy when Amazon put it on sale for less than half the cost of major plumbing companies offerings. It’s OK … it functions … but could be better. However I hate living without these resort-lifestyle bidet seats. Never been easier to be completely clean … down there.
You know how I like to … share.
