  1. At the time I thought the music was allright. Then years later I saw the movie and retroactively felt ashamed.

    1. l shingled my own roof myself 5 years ago. cdnt afford to pay and helpers were not covered by workers comp.
l scraped my left elbow shinnying back and forth. it got infected. my arm swelled. got to the hospital triage.
said to the nurse ‘might have a touch of fasciitis’ l did NOT use the common slang. l deduced that they deduced *l knew what l was talking about* FRONT OF THE LINE !!!
8 hour wait is average. but at times its so bad twice l left 1, 2 in the morning preferring a nites sleep and thence to the ‘walk in’ my GP has in the afternoon.
these people need to sue that demonic beast j turdeau for this.

      1. “walk-ins” can have pretty long wait-times too. As the problem worsens, there will eventually be no escape apart from the fastest route to the US.

  2. Democrats Get Lowest Rating From Voters in 35 Years, WSJ Poll Finds
    https://www.wsj.com/politics/elections/democratic-party-poll-voter-confidence-july-2025-9db38021

“The Democratic Party’s image has eroded to its lowest point in more than three decades, according to a new Wall Street Journal poll, with voters seeing Republicans as better at handling most issues that decide elections.”

What amuses me about democrats in the States, is that they clearly think the solution to all their problems is finding another Obama, while in fact it was precisely Obama who set them on the path to destruction with his vae victis policy towards the opposition, thereby paving the road for Trump. BTW, Kamala Harris is still their preferred cadidate for the next election (LOL).

    1. The Democrats chose the 20% side of every 8/20 issue. Kamala lost because she refused to endorse a platform because someone might not like it. Everyone knew exactly where Trump stood.

      1. Any reason for the Fvckwit? The gist of the article is the same. Aren’t you the rabid Anti-Russian around here?

        1. The reason for the Fvckwit is because The Gateway Fvckwit is not a reliable source; they just rehash whatever they find in media / blogs / social networks (that includes reprinting verifiably false information). Anybody in his right mind would prefer to see the original article. I don’t know what it’s got to do with being “rabid Anti-Russian”, but the you probably asked that question because you’re a rabid schweinie-lover.

    1. Notice how the “journalist” immediately pooh-poohs the notion that Brigitte Macron could be a man.

“Two women who made false claims that Brigitte Macron was born a man were cleared of defamation charges on Thursday.”

And then right away ties it to American conspiracy theorists:

“The theory peddled by Natacha Rey, a self-described journalist, and Amandine Roy, a clairvoyant, has become fodder for American conspiracy theorists.”

And then to drive her message home comes this:

“The court did not comment on the veracity of the claims which are false.”

But wait, those “false” rumors started on Frence social media years ago:

“Baseless rumours regarding Mrs Macron’s gender had circulated on French social media for years since 2017…”

          1. Well, in fairness, most of us do. I’d like to think he would attract more such attention than me, but sadly, that would be up to the bully to decide.

    1. My gut take. Don’t like the rules of the country, feel free to go to where your rules apply.!

    1. My take. Get the government shrunk big time and not mandating anything outside of their role (which should be minimalist)!

      1. Should never have been allowed in the country in the first place. Nobody in the Middle East wants them. Is that perhaps significant?

    1. What’s the cut for the Liberals? Hope we get enough doses for 5x the population. Can ship expired doses to Africa, because we care!

  3. For years I thought “Xanadu”” was a biopic about Francis X. Bushman. Actually it’s not a bad movie. Or rather, it’s a crappy movie that’s nonetheless pleasant and often fun.

  4. Alberta Citizen Initiative Application Update

From the Alberta Prosperity Project on Facebook, (not linking to the FB post as it was by a private member from the group)
“Alberta’s Chief Electoral Officer, Gordon McClure, confirms he has stated a question to the Court of King’s Bench under Section 2.1(1) of the Citizen Initiative Act, with respect to a constitutional referendum proposal application submitted by Mitch Sylvestre and received by Elections Alberta on July 4, 2025.
This case seeks the opinion of the Court as to whether Mr. Sylvestre’s proposal conforms with the requirements of sections 2 (4) of the Act. The question was stated to the Court on July 28, 2025.”

“The constitutional referendum question proposed in Mr. Sylvestre’s application is:
Do you agree that the Province of Alberta shall become a sovereign country and cease to be a province in Canada?”

    https://www.elections.ab.ca/citizen-initiative-application-update/?

I don’t know the timeline for an opinion question from the court, there is mention of “7 days” but that could apply to a couple of things. The news release could have been more precise, but it is court related, so it’s on that end.

  5. “The man behind The Washington Post’s “Pinocchios” is leaving the paper without anyone to fill his shoes.”
The comPost was never tethered to factuality.
“After more than 27 years at The Washington Post, including almost 15 as The Fact Checker, I will be leaving on July 31, having taken a buyout,”
So… they bribed the truth to leave. I think that’s what is referred to as bad optics. Not that it could get any worse for the comPost, -$77 mil. in ’23, -$100 mil. in ’24. No Pinocchios there.
The comPost is now a zero credibility paper.
I’m wondering now if it really was a buyout.
    Scandalous!
