Move along. Nothing to see here.
National Post- Carney to recuse himself from dealings with over 100 companies in sprawling government conflict screen
“That’s the largest scope I’ve ever heard of,” commented Ian Stedman, a government ethics specialist who previously worked for Ontario’s Integrity Commissioner.
“I think that they’re going to have to get creative to make administration of this screen efficient,” added Stedman, now an associate professor at York University.
Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner- APPENDIX TO THE SUMMARY STATEMENT OF THE RIGHT HONOURABLE MARK J. CARNEY, PRIME MINISTER OF CANADA
Marc Nixon- Turns out ONE of Carney’s “3 Canadian” stocks isn’t Canadian at all.
Portfolio scorecard:
563 total holdings
0.3 % in Canada (≈ 2 tiny positions)
93% parked in the USA
HOW CAN YOU BE CANADA FIRST IF YOU HAVE ZERO SKIN IN THE GAME IN CANADA
Dan Knight- 103 Conflicts and Counting Unprecedented Ethics Web of Prime Minister Mark Carney
We’re told it’s all perfectly legal. We’re told Carney has “recused himself.” But what this disclosure actually shows is something much bigger: a government captured by finance, a prime minister with deep, ongoing entanglements in the very sectors his policies now enrich, and a climate agenda that’s beginning to look a whole lot like a money-printing operation for the global elite.

Anybody still wondering why #CarkMarney always jumps when #OrangeManBad says “rabbit”?
Elbows up!
Oh, and by the way:
“…a climate agenda that’s beginning to look a whole lot like a money-printing operation…”
Beginning to? Have you been living under a rock, bro? Did you miss the windmill scam and the electric car scam?
Well it sure made C- science student, Al Gore, filthy rich.
And the solar scam, in Canada ffs. Shithole.
The Westminster system has no checks and balances. There is nothing stopping Marx Carnage from influencing from the sidelines.
In the Canadian system, you only have checks and balances when your bank account hasn’t been frozen.
The guy is a world traveler.
Canada is merely and accident of nature.
There are excuses for everything, there sure is a bottom feeder that can come up with a perfect play into the out.
For the most part, plebeians don’t know and don’t particularly care.
The Canadian prime minister, being man of the world can skate circles about the mass media cartel, not that they find anything wrong with it, just the same.
To sum it up, the guy’s doings and not doings, he is free, whatever the people that get up in the morning to go to work to make a living for their families, have to say.
He will extract from the working people absolute maximum, short of poverty.
This is something the voters should probably have been aware of prior to the election…don’t you think?
Score one for the partisan, leftist, and government funded media of Canada. This one isn’t bias or false reporting. It’s pure and purposeful omission.
That could have been screamed from the hilltops 26 hours a day, eight days a week. It would not have mattered. The average Kanadian “Elbows Up!” retard would not have cared.
Exactly.
Canadian Liberal voters throw naptha on the pyre and blame the Extreme/Far Right or Russia or Trump for the heat.
^^^THAT!^^^ Canadians celebrate their ‘tolerance’ which is a nice name for cowardice. Shithole.
The PM like Premiers are APPOINTED by the King of Canada. Canada’s Head of State, the Governor General is appointed by the aforementioned unCanadian foreigner retarded King. These people are all loyal to the King. The King is loyal to them. They all protect each other. They never appear on any ballot anywhere. Canada is a Monarchy. It is not nor has ever been a democracy. The Dominion of Canada needs to be absolutely destroyed and a representative republic rise in its place where EVERYBODY stands for election.
I knew Carney was a lying grifting scumbag weasel but I didn’t think it was this bad. He needs to go.
And the penalty for Carnage’s conflicts of interest?
$100.
It’s a license to steal.
All of the MP’s who need not recuse themselves from this mess will know very well that the boss is watching from the sidelines and will note who does and who doesn’t support his causes.
“Someday, and that day may never come, I’ll call upon you to do a service for me…”

#Libranos
The Eloi elected a central Bankster, a role with a mandate to debauch the fiat currency of ponzi-financed, Keynesian-mutated, broke governments while pretending that they are “managing an economy”. Conflicted financial and equity holdings are way beyond the level of understanding of the media-stupefied voters.
Nice to see your PM is profiting as handsomely as I am because of the Institutional sell-off of the American stock market! Surely your PM didn’t BUY, BUY, BUY the fake dip as I did? That wouldn’t be very … elbows out, now would it?
Boy howdy … I only WISH I had HIS $$$$ portfolio to play with
The Liberals have forced Canadians to take a side: wilful blindness with unquestioning devotion to the state or to espouse vehement disgust and borderline disbelief with such a corrupt and loathsome state.
Canadians overwhelmingly choose wilful blindness, it’s what cowards do. Shithole.
Honestly, it is amazing that the PM has zero personal stake in the nation’s financial success. Hard to understand how that is even possible, unless it is intentional.
“The screen means that Carney cannot be involved in “any official matters or decision-making processes” that would further either his or the interests of the 103 companies, many of which operate in the renewable energy and real estate sectors.”
What the screen does not do is prevent anyone in the government who is looking to curry favor with Carney to award contracts to companies that he owns beneficial interest in.
The obvious solution is to give Carney and His wife a choice between having the “blind trust” either sell all of the shares, warrants and options and invest in Canada Savings Bonds, or none of the companies should have any business with the government for the duration of Carney’s reign.
Having an interest in 103 companies means Carney is an incredibly rich man. When he was hired as a VP and Brookfield, he exercised purchase of tens of millions of dollars in Brookfield Asset Management stock. I’ll research the exact figure.
Another area of research would be check the federal Puhlic Accounts for contracts and transfers going to the Brookfield group of corporations.
… “we weren’t told any of this during the election”
Still, we all knew this was under the rug.
… “The Liberal Party was once the party of national unity and democratic accountability”
No, they have never been that.
Q: who is former MMA writer Dan Knight?
Anda one more time – Liberals don’t care what we think, unless we threaten their power and are quite confident it won’t happen, as they just serially lied to Canadians, insulted their intelligence and sold them on the fallacy Trudeau 2.0 would be any different, or likely even worse, than that first ideological iteration of arrogant ignorance.
In short, voters like being lied to so they can escape reality and even when that becomes inescapable, they comfort themselves in the fantasy that jobs, housing costs, inflation and interest rates are somehow distinct issues.
Thanks to cynical, corrupt collectivism, Liberals are quite confident in the very first victim of their false narratives and outright lies will nonetheless remain loyal voters, aka public servants whom the Grit grifters, particular Bruce Fanboy in Poilievre’s riding, were told Conservatives would slash their jobs, as Liberals do now.
This is being done while Carney proves utterly impotent at “fighting Trump,” as we lose market share due to preventable issues like controlling fentanyl crossing into the US, fantasizing EU counterweight trade, our naive cooperation with communist China, and our economy killing internal and international protectionism, supply management now legislatively protected as progressive parasites cling to the status quo they think benefits them.
Poilievre would have dealt with Trump nation to nation, instead of cynical temper tantrums, let the civil service reduce by attrition and technology and use existing resources to build affordable housing, instead of reinventing the wheel with yet more irresponsible government and market failure. Instead, we see a mendactic messiah complex from voters who think Trudeau 2.0 will do anything but fail, given exactly the same approach.
In yet another time in our history, as we were set to take off economically, with our vast natural resources that the entire world is clamoring for, we have denied our birthright in favour of collectivism and praying at the altar of climate change and net zero productivity, soon followed by zero liberty. In short, we are screwed and many of my friends may be right that this nation is beyond redemption, so are planting their seeds of separation now.
We were warned ad nauseum by the likes of Bastiat and Hayek that we traded our kings for our radical passivism, omnipotence of their law, and infallibility of government for those who have no more superhuman insights, intelligence or compassion than any humans and if we let such neo-regals control any aspect of the economy, they inevitably and necessarily, by their standards alone, control all of it, our lives and preferences.
It’s as inevitable and therefore as predictable as the sun coming up tomorrow, as it goes down on Canada.
