  1. “… much of that going towards subsidizing the manufacture of EVs”

Uhm, more accurately should read, “much of that going to line the pockets of Liberals”?

    1. What to do in your 15 minute zone when the town is 20 minutes away? That’s how it is out here in the sticks.

What to do in your 15 minute zone when you can’t walk that far?

What to do when the doctor in your 15 minute zone is an idiot, and you need a second opinion that’s half an hour away?

What to do when it’s -15F out and your e-vehicle won’t hold a charge, but you gotta go to the hospital? The e-ambulance won’t hold a charge either, so you got a bit of a problem there, big boi.

These and other questions remain unanswered by The Great and The Good, but no one seems to have really noticed yet. Or they did notice, and they’re all being very, very quiet for some reason…

  2. I work at dealership in the US – we have multiple stores – 2 foreign and 1 domestic – all top ten manufacturers.
We can’t give these stupid all – electric vehicles away.
We are in a Northern Climate with few charging stations.
BEV’s work as 2nd cars locally. Drive them 100 miles or less a day – charge them at home, good to go. Hybrids make sense as well. No argument there at all. We sell them just fine.
I know from customers who tell me that their Tesla can not make it 240 miles to our state capital from here without stopping and charging. Too mountainous among other issues. Totally pathetic.
My wife’s GM SUV can make that 480 mile round trip easily without putting even a drop of gas in it and still have 100 mile range left over. We’ve done many times. Piece of cake.
People aren’t stupid, well, Democrats are but they still won’t throw their own money away.

  3. Have they given any indication of how they plan to achieve that.2030 is not that far away.

Just tossing out a few things that are in the realm of possible.

Lower the price of electric till they are free or even they pay you to use it.
Increase the price of non-electric, a million per truck?
Increase the price of fuel. If $10 per litre is not enough try 100$ per litre.
special Authorisations and documentation to buy Non-electric, your only 99k from the nearest charging centre, you need to be 100k

Forced carless days. Only Electric on Saturdays and Sundays.

        1. Stuck in Swift Current with no plug in, and then towed to Moose Jaw, where Max the Moose is staring in derision. Still no plugs.

  4. We’ll force you to give up your ICE car, force you to buy a battery powered car. We will make electricity rare and expensive. You will have a smart meter. The higher your social credit score, the higher your priority in being allowed to buy electricity. But seriously, 52 billions pissed away, the gubmint will throw good money after bad, in the name of ideology.

  5. Canada has a lot better chance of making these important goals if they give the boot to Alberta and Saskatchewan.

    1. That wouldn’t be the same Ford who recently, with his best bud turdo, pissed away billions of our dollars on an EV battery plants for VW?

      Naawwww, couldn’t be.

    2. If Smith & Ford were serious about this, they’d tell Marx Carnage to get stuffed & Notwithstanding clause the hell outta the EV mandate.

  6. $52 billion in subsidies for battery plants, $0 investment in the infrastructure required to actually charge them

  7. Please explain. California does stuff this stupid because it is awash in billionaires and multimillionaire who feel very guilty. Is Canada similarly suffering a surplus of guilty wealth?
