Globe and Mail- RCMP equipment failure ignites Lytton, B.C., fire that triggered evacuations
Mounties say a wildfire that has triggered evacuations near Lytton, B.C. was caused when a wheel fell off an RCMP trailer in a “tremendously unfortunate” incident.
Just a coincidence.

Wow! An actual CAUSE of a wildfire is identified and named. We don’t do that here in CA … as we still haven’t identified the CAUSE of the utterly devastating Pacific Palisades Fire
Investigation
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has deployed a National Response Team to investigate the origins of the fire. According to the Los Angeles Times, the two leading theories suggest a rekindling of a prior January 1st fire, or the ignition of a new fire entirely at the same location. In May 2025, ATF conducted a controlled burn in the Palisades Highlands in attempt to gather more information on the origins of the fire.
Our intrepid government … massively $$$$ paid $$$$ Arson Inspectors are “busy” finding the cause. We thank them for their service … Right?

How are those rebuilding permits coming along? Have they allowed people to get to their property yet? Start cleaning up? You know, “we won’t take longer than a week or so to issue permits” according to some absentee mayor.

Hopefully better than the ones in Lytton, which *still* looks like a wasteland four years after the big fire (and they still haven’t even admitted what caused it).
Grumps! Wanna know what’s even WORSE than California!? Maui. My son is vacationing in Maui right now … and he said the streets are still lined with dumpsters and trucks hauling off Fire debris from the Lahaina fire.
That fire was created nearly TWO YEARS AGO.

Lytton has been trying to rebuild since the last devastation, and now this.

Excuse my ire, but I had one mere feet from my home a few weeks ago, and almost lost everything.
Thanks to me screaming at the 911 woman, the lovely firefighters knocked it down, although my neighbour lost his home.
I was in my back yard when it started, and it was caused by fireworks in dry Kelowna by our regional park, where my home is situated.
Many BC fires are suspect or just plain caused by stupidity.
NOT by Climate Change…HOKAY?
No one in the RCMP could be bothered to grease the wheel bearings. Most trailers made in the last 15 years come with grease zerks in the hubs. They must gave been too busy beating up on people protesting government tyrants.
