  1. It would appear that the EV mandate could have a far more deleterious effect on the domestic auto manufacturing sector than tariffs implemented by the Trump Administration. Some tough decisions will have to be made in boardrooms that will decide if the large automakers want to participate in a “nation’s” suicide. If tariffs are thrown into the mix, all bets are off.

My guess is that the directors of these large corporations will act in the best interest of their shareholders and move to withdraw from canaduh, sending all of those jobs down the sewer. Including my son-in-law’s

    1. “My guess is that the directors of these large corporations will act in the best interest of their shareholders and move to withdraw from canaduh, sending all of those jobs down the sewer. ”

My opinion: they won’t need to. All they will need to do is *say* they are going to do it, and the Liberals will cave.

Why? The Ontario votes that the Liberals desperately need to stay in power. If those auto manufacturers were in Alberta or Saskatchewan they would already be gone.

      1. You’re probably right. Alberta and Saskatchewan will point out the removal of the EV mandate and request an easing of the net zero targets aimed directly at them and the liarberals will say no.

Might be good for a two – three point pop on the referendum

        1. “Might be good for a two – three point pop on the referendum”

Hope so. Can’t wait to move to a free Alberta.

    2. You’re right, they have to act in the best interest of their shareholders, or they can be sued in the US, and in certain cases involving Sarbanes-Oxley, worse.

  2. The communist government of Canada doesn’t care about what real world manufacturers want or their concerns about sustainability. None of the Green WEF plans are sustainable. Name one thing that the Liberals have done in the last 10 years to encourage manufacturing, for example. It took 12 years to get liquid natural gas exported from the West coast. They want the auto sector to fail so that you will not be able to afford or buy an automobile of any type. That way, you will be reliant on public transportation if that runs at all.

Remember the goal. Carney the Carney is a wicked tyrant who doesn’t give a damn if you live or die. In point of fact, dying would be preferable in his opinion – less impediments in the way of communism.

    1. “Remember the goal. Carney the Carney is a wicked tyrant who doesn’t give a damn if you live or die.”

True, but he’s smarter than Trudeau was (a very low bar, I know)…and he at least knows where his votes come from.

  3. The gov’t of tier 2 Canada should buy the Canadian divisions of Ford, GM and Stellantis like they did the pipelines, just to show us their world leading auto manufacturing knowledge.

That’ll show us who knows what!
    lol…

  4. Vaccine mandate
    EV mandate

What’s with the Far-Left and their shit-mandates? Why do they have to MANDATE their stupidity on the general population? Why always with the Fascist decrees?

    1. Communist Central Planning, perhaps. That is where the mandates come from. There is no room for you in the word “Tyrant”.

    2. Oh, c’mon, Kenji, don’t you know by now that the far left boys like their shitty “man dates”?
Fascist and Feces are synonymous concepts.
      Have a nice day.

      1. Geeze Stevie … you make me sound like a homophobe? That couldn’t be further from the truth as I have a rather complete collection of Joe Jackson’s rather broad range of music. “So don’t call me a fa&&ott not unless you are a friend” …

        What’s a man now?
        What’s a man mean?
Is he rough or is he rugged?
        Is he cultural and clean?

        1. Ha, It is late and I’m in my cups, Kenji, but I will take that as sarcasm or other wise will recoil that you inserted Joe Jackson right there.
I’m more with Muddy Waters and Mannish Boy.
Joe creeped me out and reminded me of a mix of Freddie M, Elton, and Billy Joel and all that pukey shite.
When those ‘piano men’ were ascendant, I was listening to my preferred piano men, like Greg Allman, Doctor John, and even Rick Wakeman.
          Peace.

          1. Just messin. Nothing serious intended. Except to say that I am much more of a softie than you as I quite LIKE Joe Jackson … although Billy Joel’s music …? I literally don’t know how to categorize that shite. And Elton John was quite good … right up to Honkey Chateau … and then … nothing but faggy music. “Philadelphia Freedom”? Sayyyyy did Elton compose any tunes for Lia Thomas? Just curious …

PS … “softie” isn’t code for Gay … although I DO like men playing organs … like Rod Argent

  5. Cars for national defence?
    Ferries for national defence!
    Coast guard under national defence.
We’ll hit 5% GDP spending on military by September.
Would you like a battery with that too?

  6. Glad you got your voice back, Mr. Kingston. Ten years of silence is a long time.

  7. Perhaps there is a future in horses. But no, liberals would outlaw them despite the loss of the Amish vote.
